Pros:

When I was taking Pantothenic acid/B5 I noticed results within the next day. Within a month I noticed 90% of my acne problems gone. And it would stay like this even if I take 10grams a day or 3 grams a day. (This was after a month)

Cons:

Cost, $20 a bottle at Vitaminshoppe lasts 15 day. There's also future concerns of health problems with B5.

It works but don't expect it to cure everything. Do research on your own about the health problems that might arise. good luck!

Pros:

This product is easy to use and i dont have to spend time putting anything on my face. I was hesitant at first and to be honest, i didn't believe drinking a vitamin supplement would clear my skin but it did within about 4 days. Instead of putting chemicals on my face im drinking a supplement filled with the vitamins designed for what my pores need and i love how by drinking two 2oz. bottles a day my face is clearer than ever. Its easy and it works.

Cons:

There are no real cons with this product. You drink this product so while it dose have a tangy flavor you can taste the vitamins but after putting it in my fridge it being cold takes a lot of the vitamin taste away. It is more expensive than past products that ive used but i see real results now and that makes it all worth it.

Bottom line is that i love this product. It has really cleared my face and now after taking it for over 3 weeks my face is continuing to look better and i even notice some of my scaring from acne looking less noticeable. I cant imagine going back to creams and topical cleansers.

Pros:

Good for reducing oil on skin.

Cons:

Dry, cracked lips

Great results. Been using this for a month. I have extremely oily skin, with acne on my face, back and arms. I was previously on accutance/antibiotiocs. After stopping for 2 years, my oily skin and acne came back. I didn't want to go back on accutane, as its given my some crazy side effects (scarring), so I searched for alternatives. I came across an article on Vitamin b5, and said hey why not? I thought is was a scam at first, but Vitamin b5 has worked to reduce oil and acne on my skin.

How long did it take for it to work?
November 22, 2012

Pros:

-very long eyelashes!

Cons:

-hair was falling out more

I would still recommend this because everyone else had amazing experiences with it so I wouldn't deny you the chance to have clear skin. However, I tried it out for about 2 months at 6 grams a day and I saw no improvement in my acne. But my eyelashes were so much longer and they still are even though I stopping B5 a long time ago! Of course I would rather have traded the long eyelashes for clear skin: I had very high hopes for the B5 and truly thought I could have clear skin like everyone else did with this vitamin ): But try it out though, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't for you!

Pros:

oil reduction
smaller pores
acne reduction

Cons:

lots of pills, you get over it even if everyone else doesn't
short break out when it kicks in
may have to switch brands.

I only recommend this for people who have genetically oily skin types. If your skin is already dry, adding this vitamin cannot be a good idea for your skin or your hair. It doesn't always kick in within a few days as some reports state. It took a few weeks to see a substantial oil reduction by about 50-60% and I suspect it will continue to decrease from here. There is a breakout which disturbed me since I don't actually breakout just insanely oily. The only thing that got me through was knowing the breakout was because of the vitamin shutting oil production down and thus freaking out the bacteria in my face. I started with GNC first but only saw a change after using Puritan's pride which happily costs less per bottle anyway.

Pros:

None that I noticed.

Cons:

-Stomach irritation and discomfort.
-Significant flareup in acne.
-Bowel issues.

I used B5 consistently for one week. I took 2 1000mg time-release pills in the morning and 2 more at night. By the third day I had noticed minor stomach discomfort, and by the fifth day I was waking up to small pustules popping up all over the place. This breakout continued for the next couple of days, at which point I stopped taking B5 altogether. My skin returned to it's normal baseline within two days of stopping the B5 (light acne, but not at the severity brought about by the B5). The B5 did not nothing for my oil production either within that week, although I recognize that my dosage and length of treatment was not comparable to what most people here are doing (although according to reviews for this product on Amazon, many people are successful with 4-6 grams of B5 per day). I wanted to start out slowly, and given the reaction my skin had to B5, I'm glad I did. Lots of people report success with B5, so I think this might be worth exploring for many acne sufferers, but it only made my skin noticeably worse. I would recommend starting out with a reasonable dosage; I found Amazon reviews for B5 to be much more helpful than the typical extreme recommendations made on this site. Best of luck to you.

Pros:

less oily skin
smaller pimples
no cystic acne.

Cons:

5 pills a day.
Diarrhea first few days
lower libido

I've had acne since high school. Was never that bad until I came to college tho. Maybe bad diet coupled with more stress made acne worse? Yea probably,. Anyway, I started taking two 500 mg pills every 12 hours. So 2 at 9am and 2 at 9 pm. And with my biggest meal (usually lunch), I take a b-complex pill. I bought the b5 from vitamin world and the b-complex from gnc. I think if you have relatively oily skin and you feel that your cystic acne is resulting from that, then you should definitely give this product a try. For me, it took about 2 days to see a decrease in oiliness. And now, on day 5, my face looks about 90% better. Also important: There was 1 day breakout for me. They weren't of the cystic kind but they were still pretty red. Megadose at your own risk. and drink plenty of water regardless. Good luck!
