Pros:

***My Review is for APPLE CIDER VINEGAR not regular vinegar!!***

Cheap, works GREAT for hyperpigmentation marks

Cons:

Smells horrible

This works fantastically well on my hyperpigmentation marks, and believe me those little marks are the bane of my life and annoy me much more than the acne itself. I have used a few variations on this method - originally I first applied bicarbonate of soda (baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, whatever you want to call it) to my face and exfoliated gently, then I would apply the Apple Cider Vinegar on a cotton wool ball, and rub very gently for a few minutes. Now I do the same but without the bicarb, and it works just as well. I cleanse (I use origins checks and balances facewash, if anyone finds it relevant) and then rub this on my skin for a minute or two. If I'm alone I leave it on, but if I'm at my boyfriend's place or he is staying at my place, I rinse it off with water, otherwise my face would taste disgusting and he wouldn't want to be anywhere near it, let alone kiss me! This is definitely one of the cons of this item. However, I've discovered that rinsing it does not really reduce the effectiveness much, nor does dilution, so you really only need to use a tiny amount. Anyhow, I've used this for a while and it is the best thing I've ever come across for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks, which fade much, much more quickly with the help of ACV. I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think it also helps my actual zits to heal more quickly too. One thing: do NOT think that ACV and regular vinegar are interchangeable. I can't speak for everyone - maybe others have got good results with regular vinegar, but everywhere I've looked has said the same thing on the subject of ACV for acne and skincare, which is that regular vinegar will not give you the same results and may be far too harsh for your delicate skin. Bottom line is, DO try it. It's really worth it. After having been plagued by those horrible post-acne marks for so long, I couldn't do without this product.

Pros:

Natural way to clear skin , normal pH and brings it to a glow.

Cons:

Has an unpleasant smell but please keep reading.

ONLY USE UNFILTERED (Brag is the most notable) apple cider vinegar with the "mother" which is the essential part (does not have to be organic). To decrease smell mix: 1 part ACV, 1 part witch hazel, 3 parts brewed green tea, 5 drops lavendar oil, 5 crushed (non-coated) aspirin (aspirin has salycilic acid). This should last a couple of weeks, I keep mine in a travel size bottle. Wipe this on like a toner, 2x/day. I also suggest researching the oil cleansing method to wash: 80% evoo and 20% castor oil (also takes off eye and face makeup). Massage in for a couple of minutes, lay a hot/warm wet washcloth on your face until it cools and wipe off excess oil. Rinse out the washcloth with hot water. Repeat the washcloth steps 2 more times. Yes, this will take about 10 minutes (like a mini-spa)but it is the natural way to remove oil/acne ( and frugal). If this is too drying, up the evoo %, not cleansing enough, up the castor oil %. If this scares you remember physics, oil attract oil (and removes it from your skin).

Pros:

*softens acne scars
*lightens acne
*cheap

Cons:

*smells like vomit
*stings eyes a little
*dries skin

I read almost every review on this site before deciding to try ACV. I bought Bragg's with mother in it. I have tried every acne product and every skincare brand available for my acne, which was pretty severe at one point because of a medication I was taking. At the moment, I don't have particularly bad breakouts, but I do have a lot of scarring, which is worse, I think than actual acne. Acne at least goes away, but these scars have been here for years! I've only been using ACV for a few days, maybe a week, morning and night, and I swear I can already see a difference. I really don't think this is my imagination. The new scars are already fading, but the old ones I think will take much longer. The few active breakouts I had are healing, and my complexion seems much brighter. I hope these great results will continue! My hope is renewed! One day I might have the porcelain skin I was MEANT to have!

Pros:

Decreased acne size and marks; lightened hyperpigmentation

Cons:

Smell; not a miracle worker (what is?)

I had been using just regular Heinz acv before, but a few months ago, I decided to go organic and try Bragg's. At first I diluted it, but wasn't seeing much change from before when I used Heinz, so I decided to use it straight, and that's when I started seeing changes. My acne is mostly hormonal, under the skin cystic stuff. I have an oily face (the tzone especially). My "regimen" as of late is Spectro Jel for oily skin in the morning, and moisturizer if I'm wearing makeup. At night, if I've worn makeup, I remove it with a makeup remover towelette, but I always use Oxy deep clean pads, follow that with acv, and maybe put on a little moisturizer after. I've been using the Bragg's brand for probably 2 months, and I have noticed that my post-acne marks are fading faster. Usually they are supposed to fade in a few months, but mine can hang around for up to a year, so I find the organic fading effect exciting. I got a big zit shortly after purchasing this, and the mark left after it is the size of a pen tip (versus the b.b.-sized marks left by the b.b.-sized zits). I find this promising and I'm going to try to stick with the organic. The nonorganic works, but not as well. Also be warned that organic stinks more; it doesn't just smell vinegar-y, it also flat-out stinks. Prepare to tear up. That's why I use it at night. But I find putting on the moisturizer after blocks the smell. In short, I've found that organic acv doesn't work miracles. I still have marks and stuff. But half a bottle later, I do notice the difference. My face is looking better. Less spotted. I'd say give it a shot. And if you see no difference diluting it, try it straight before you give up on it.

Pros:

Cleared moderately bad back acne fast. If you have bacne give this will work great!
Seemed to work on face at first (cleared forehead) really nice.
Makes your skin feel soft

Cons:

Regular apple cider vinegar has a strong smell when applied, but it goes away after a couple minutes when it dries. No big deal.

Organic apple cider vinegar on the other hand smells very putrid, almost a bad body odor smell. The smell lingers around even after it dries. It also didn't leave my face looking as nice when applied (more of an oily look). I used this organic stuff for about a week (got more zits with it) and then went back to regular acv.

Alright so I've been on all kinds of dermatologist prescribed drugs which simply didn't work. I stumbled across apple cider vinegar on the internet and decided to research it. I found a lot of people claiming this was the product that "cured" their acne. My hopes were very high. I bought some regular apple cider vinegar at the store and started applying it topically 2 times daily. I also bought apple cider vinegar pills and took them 3 times daily because I heard these were key to clear skin. The vinegar applied topically seemed to work at first; I thought I found my miracle cure! I still got zits, but nothing like I had got before. I gave it time and stuck to my routine feeling like my skin would eventually be clear. However the one thing I noticed throughout the process was that I was getting more lesion like pimples (the big red ones that form underneath the skin) than before. So right now it is the fifth week of this treatment and I am deciding to get back on my meds (doxycycline). I'm still going to use the apple cider vinegar as a toner but I feel like it is not a cure all by itself. I feel the acv worked great the first couple of weeks but these huge lesion zits are just killing it for me. I'm hoping my prescribed meds can help in combination with acv. However, it worked great on my back acne (which was pretty bad) so I'm really thankful I found a solution for that!

Works for menopausal/hormonal acne!
I've scanned a lot of ACV reviews without finding anything from people my age, so will leave one for the occasional senior among us... I'm 64 and have had hormonal acne since having a hysterectomy years ago. I do use an estrogen patch, but still have crazy hormones. I've tried antibiotics and spironolactone, which worked while I was on them, but neither are healthy long term so I quit -- and broke out again. Tropicals that have failed include Retin-A, Tazorac, Aczone, Fiacea, and a bunch of OTC acne treatments. After suffering with some very deep, painful cysts along the jawline, I recently decided to give Bragg's ACV a try. At the outset, I had at least 10 very deep and painful red spots on my jaw and forehead along with some smaller breakouts. It was probably the worst it's ever been. I began drinking 2 tablespoons of Bragg ACV in 8 oz water twice a day and applying it undiluted as a toner after washing with African black soap and followed by CeraVe moisturizing lotion. The ACV stings any open areas on my face when applied, but that goes away quickly without leaving any residual redness. The only real negative is that the vinegar smell lingers on my hands, even after washing them. This is the only reason that I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. That said, the smell is a small price to pay for the benefits, which have been impressive. All of the original lesions have dried up and I've only gotten one tiny spot (not cystic) next to my nose. That one dried up within hours of an application of ACV. My T-zone is oily, but cheeks are a bit on the dry side, so I don't apply the ACV there unless I see a spot. Some people have said the ACV is drying, but if it doesn't upset my 64 year old skin, it can't be too bad! I'll add that I'm fair skinned and have fairly sensitive skin, so should be a pretty good judge... There's still some redness from the cysts, but that's clearing up and my skin looks great otherwise. If this continues to work it will save me a lot of money and prevent exposure to tons of pharmaceuticals, all of which come with substantial warnings. I'll try to remember to do a follow up in a few months...

Pros:

Really Inexpensive - Make sure to get the Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with 5-7% acidity. I use Braggs.
Works for a variety of other ailments
Dried Cyst overnight

Cons:

The smell is strong
It burns when you apply to open pimples

I had a cyst on my cheek that hurt and wouldnt come to a head. It was really big and purple. I took a square of toilet paper, soaked it in ACV and covered it with a bandaid so that the cloth was completely on the cyst. I did this twice and then rubbed Cortizone cream on the cyst while i was sleeping with no bandaid. The cyst doesn't hurt, and is red, but it's much flatter than yesterday and has begun to heal. I drink ACV as it helps with so many other things - research online, it's amazing.

Pros:

Decreases oil, decreases redness

Cons:

Scarring became more prominent, developed little bumps and of course, the smell.

I thought this product worked great with my oily skin and I was hoping it would do the same for my ice pickish scars. After about two weeks, I noticed that my scars looked worse, they seemed to have expanded and I had developed little bumps that would not go away. Rather than stay the course, I decided that enough damage was done and I did not want to pursue this further.

Pros:

Works amazingly well at fading both old an new acne scars/spots.
Saw huge improvements after 1 month of daily use.

Cons:

Can sting

Use BRAGGS ! The only ACV that will work this fast. Incredible stuff. Just make sure to dilute it for the first few weeks. Then use full strength when your skin is used to it.
