This Product Works
I have been struggling with acne ever since I was 13 ( I am now 27) and have taken acutane and tried many other pills and dermatology grade creams. I was very hesitant to try this product because of the price and not having good luck with pro-active (same doctors). I only tried it because my neighbor sells it and I saw a few other people's results first hand. I always thought I would just never be the girl who had nice skin and would always struggle with break-outs, but this product really worked for me. I am not saying it will work for everyone, but that is why you get the 60 day money back guarantee so it is worth a try.

Horrible cystic acne with product x2
I've tried hundreds of acne products and diet changes. Finally after 15 long years, I had been able to maintain my face with no new breakouts. I started using rodan and fields because several people had recommended it and the reviews all seemed great. About three weeks after starting their products my face broke out in about 30 cystic pimples. I stopped using rodan and fields immediately. I let my face clear up 100% and waited a month before trying it again. Shortly after starting it again, my skin broke out in cystic acne. I should've known since this same company originally developed proactive it would be about the same quality. Save your money, the dermatologist can do the same thing for the same price.

ZERO stars. DO NOT fall for the scam.
This is the WORST product you can EVER buy for acne. I broke out in places I have never broken out before, it gave me huge cystic acne that hurt so much I can't even touch my face in certain places. The "consultant " told me to stick with it that it's my face "purging".. Right .. Nothing has changed, it just gets worst, and I am very disappointed in myself for believing in such a scam. If this product was actually good for you I'm sure it wouldn't be sold in a pyramid scheme( yah yah it's not "technically" a Pyramid scheme but it's close ). Almost all, if not every, positive review is from a consultant. I should've done more research on this before I got pressured into using it. Having acne puts you in a vulnerable and desparate position to try to heal it asap, and this is what the consultants look for. I have moved on to Apple cider vinegar and extra Virgin olive oil for my acne regimen. Please please please google it, I have seen WAY more results in the 1 week that I've been doing that. It's cheaper and more NATURAL.

Sorry you had that experience! Our son has had severe acne for the past 5 years and first we tried everything over the counter and then for the past 3 years though our dermatologist different levels of prescription acne products: sulfur wash included and last but not least antibiotics and finally steroids and result were always positive at first but nothing really worked!!! When a friend reached out to let us know about Unblemmish and the 60 day money back guarantee we asked our dermatologist first and with her approval our son started the regiment and has been using it for 2 years now with great result. However, that being said we were not informed of the aggressive normal preakout that would occur about 5-6 weeks in and our son was distraught, under and wanted to quit , but what could we do ??? The consultant let us know this was normal and part of the product working we decided to stick with the regiment for a total of 90 days and boy I am glad we did😊Our son has great skin now and he is less self conscious now...the instructions clearly state that this is normal and the consultant should have warned you😔 Natural isn't nessesarily better when talking about severe acne, but changing your life style such as diet and exercise is what also added to my sons results...frustrating non the less!!!

Did not work for me
Dried my skin out and caused my acne to reappear (which is more cystic in nature). I am going back to using a combo of Burt's Bees acne face wash, tea tree oil application and Clearogen acne lotion 2x a day, plus the Clean & Clear Advantage mark treatment as needed. This has been the most effective solution I've found to date, resulting in very clear skin 3/4ths of the time (...just haven't figured how to prevent breakouts during that one week of each month yet...)

Lost my review... but the product is still amazing!
So I just lost my extremely long, detailed review when I signed up to publish it (dang!)... but the bottom line was that this is amazing! So don't listen to all what I have to say (because I'm not retyping all that right now)... Just get out there and try it yourself! It's worth the try, especially if regular acne washes and regimens haven't worked for you, or if you have moderately sensitive, scarred, combination skin like me. I've suffered from mild to moderately severe acne since age 11, and now I'm 20, and this is the only thing I've tried that I would ever highly recommend to anyone. Screw the details, just take my word for it, fellow-acne and scar suffering friend! It felt like a miracle after all those years of feeling like a leper... and I'm only less than a month into it! TIP: If you are somewhat sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, use the 3rd step only every other day. I use the rest of the steps only once a day, as I know my sensitive acne-prone skin wont' tolerate more washing than that. Now, my skin looks brighter, smoother, pores smaller, no blackheads, no new zits for a couple weeks, almost all of my awful jawline acne scars/peeling sores have disappeared. The wash feels great, not over-drying (I can stand to wait awhile to put moisturizer on afterward, rather than needing moisturizer instantly afterwards). The sulfur is much nicer and gentler than salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in a wash. There's absolutely no burn and you don't have to use hardly any, just a nice sized dot on your fingertip, so it's very cost effective. The toner doesn't burn either, and it feels clean, refreshing, brightening, and minimizing of pores. The dual treatment feels amazing, even though I can only use it every other day. It evens and brightens and somewhat even somehow seems to deeply moisturize my skin like nothing else, be sure to let it penetrate and dry a minute or two before applying moisturizer so they don't mix together and make a roly-poly, peely, white sunscreen mess.. It makes my skin literally glow all day. The moisturizer is the nicest I've ever encountered, it doesn't make my skin itch nor shine, and it doesn't make me want to rinse it off either. There is a sort of "residue", kind of like some primers, but it's not an irritating one at all. I really really like that the white of the zinc in the sunscreen further evens and brightens my skin tone. It feels more like a nice primer than a thick greasy lotion. The best parts about this regimen is the lack of discomfort, itchiness, irritation, burning, sloughing, peeling, tiring, dehydrating, and drying and merely managerial abilities of harsher meds, and the effectiveness of keeping acne from surfacing or appearing to begin with... None of the useless spot treatment mentality!

POISON!
On Sunday I used Rodan and Fields "Unblemish" for the first time.Immediately after my skin began to itch, turn red, and burn. I spoke with my consultant and she said that's normal, your face needs to purge. So I followed the directions and applied it again two days later. At this point my face felt like sand paper but I wanted to give it another try. I immediately regretted it. My skin burned as if someone had thrown boiling water mixed with poison on my face. It began to bubble and blister and swell. By Tuesday night my face literally hot to the touch. Wrinkly like an old woman (I'm 28). And itches beyond belief! I can't sleep or smile due to pain and itching. I looked up pictures of burn victims, and it's exactly what my skin looks like right now. My consultant told me to keep going, that it needs to do this to get better. Um, no thank you. This is awful. So I started hydrating last night with lotion, and it can't stay on my skin because it's eating it up so fast. I woke up today completely swollen on my entire face, my eyes look like slits. My consultant offered to swap it out with a different product but I do not trust this brand. It is literally poison. Everyone at work is looking at me like they either feel so sorry for me, or have asked if I had a chemical peel. One woman kindly asked if I was okay, and then asked if their was anything she needs to know, like if I was safe at home..... I told her what happened and she said she thought someone had thrown boiling water on me. All that to say, do not use anything from Rodan and Fields. It's poison.

You are allergic to it.

That’s a clear allergic reaction not the fault of the product.

Definitely pushers making the above comments... not an allergic reaction - simply the awful product. See my review on the next page... soph_istication@[link removed] very similar story except mine got worse and I’m still suffering with the scars. POISON.

You may be allergic to the aloe Vera ingredient. This same thing happened to my sister and it was the aloe. Not the product itself.

Im glad I stuck it out!
I am not a consultant just a happy customer. I have used the Unblemish skin care regimen for about a year now and I am so glad that I stuck with it! A little bit about my acne before I started Rodan and Fields: I usually noticed my acne get bad right when the weather started getting hot the past couple years and of course I would break out during my period. I first thought I would try natural products to try and get rid of the acne by using different types of oils: coconut oil, castor oil, grape seed oil, etc. I was not successful it just made the acne worse. So I decided to try The Unblemish regimen. In the beginning it was a terrible experience, breaking out like crazy, irritated and flaky skin. I also found out I was pregnant about the same time that I started the regimen which didn't help my acne since my hormones were out of whack. It continued like that for almost 4 months! By about the 4 month marker of me using the regimen I was noticing less and less acne. By the 5th month I maybe had 1 zit! One year later I love my skin! I was scared that I was going to start breaking out again because of the hot weather but I haven't which is awesome. I also love their Soothe 30 spf sunscreen, which doesn't ever make me break out!

May work for some, but it is definitely not for everyone, especially since it is overpriced
I am 35 and have had acne my whole life, but have suffered from pretty significant adult acne for about 3 years. I tried so many things, from pills from the doctor to ProActiv. Then I heard about Rodan and Fields Unblemish, and was hesitant due to the price. One day I decided to go for it. It was a slow process, my skin slightly improved, and then I started getting tons of awful blackheads, which is something I have never had to deal with. The Rodan and Fields completely stopped working about 3 months into the regimen, and I am very unhappy with the results. If you are going to try this, I would recommend looking for a sulfur wash (which is available on Amazon), and using benzyl peroxide 5.0%, and a toner from elsewhere. It is very expensive, and was not at all worth my money. I know some people have had a lot of success with this product, but it was certainly not for me. I also have another friend who had the same experience, and even got blackheads like I did.

5 stars!!!
This stuff is the first acne treatment that has ever worked for me. I've been on antibiotics for 8 years, Bactrim, doxycycline, monocycline, tried proactive, over the counter facewash, prescription acne cream, nothing worked. I was so sure this wouldn't work, but nothing else was working and my acne was getting worse at 25, until my boyfriend said it had helped his friend. It is super expensive but honestly it the clearest my face has been since I was like 15, so it's worth it to me.

Pros:

It works in the long run

Cons:

takes a while
purging stage
gets worse before it gets better
you have to be patient
smells horrible
expensive

if you're willing to go through about a month of cystic acne and oily skin but then have beautiful clear skin in the end then buy it. it takes a while but its worth it!you must have patience. yes the first few weeks are painful but its completely worth it. trust me!!
