Pros:

Works! Helps to keep an acne diary as you go along (write down your food intake, makeup/product usage, and face washing frequency in it to identify any other sources of acne besides just skin tendency to breakout). CHEAP! Thank you, Dan!

Cons:

Can be difficult to identify other potential acne triggers -- food allergens, dirty pillowcases, makeup, etc. so just be sure to give the regimen a full try with the awareness that other things can cause acne, too.

I have been on the regimen since September 2006 and can say it DOES WORK. In my case I had to do a lot of work to filter out OTHER acne triggers that had nothing to do with keeping my face clean or topical products. So, the major thing for me was getting soy milk out of my diet. Apparently soy has a chemical that mimics estrogen, which for me, triggers hormonal acne (meaning it's unrespondent to topical products). Since eliminating soy milk and a few other things to which I have mild food allergies, I have had literally NO new active blemishes erupt on my face. So, I'm VERY HAPPY with the regimen at this point. The BP is much less drying than the 10% BP I used for years (I was not drinking soy milk at this point, I just had regular old acne and needed BP for it). Applying the product according to Dan's instructions is exactly what you should do, and you MUST moisturize. Be very liberal and take care with all applications.

Pros:

It works, it is exceptionally priced, it is NOT super drying, and it is sold by a person who has been in a similar situation and knew there was a desperate need for this product. Really, there are only pros to this BP gel!!!

Cons:

I'm not always thrilled with the online order site, but it is a small burden!

I use this, my husband uses this, my teenage children use this. It works and I do not know what I would do if it wasn't avilable. The skin on my face would dry and flake away, or I would go back to trying to cut an expensive 10% BP lotion with some sort of moisturizer (which never worked that well). Thank you Dan!!!

Pros:

It really works, it doesn't sting, it sinks in well, it doesn't smell,

Cons:

I wouldn't use it too close to delicate areas of skin (around eyes) as they can go temporarily wrinkly -this is true of all benzoyl peroxide and probably this gel is better than most.

It works! I noticed immediate improvement but after 8 weeks of using it as instructed I have skin to be proud of. However, I did only have mild (but worsening) acne. It has got it totally under control. Even if new spots appear they disappear very quickly and don't get big red or painful.

Pros:

Not irritating.
A little goes a long way.
Doesn't seem to stain clothing like other products.

Cons:

None

Awesome product! Finally, something that really seems to consistently work w/o irritating my skin.

Pros:

Wonderful. FAR better product than crusty/white "On The Spot." Love that it's clear & absorbs in 15 min. Was using Differin with no ins. coverage paying over $100 a tube. Dan's BP had it's way with my nasal blackheads that the Diff . couldn't touch.

Cons:

Bleachs some fabrics. Lost 1 shirt in a months time. I rubbed my face pretty hard with the shirt mid-day to remove some dry skin. I just use some of my Diff. money to go buy Polo shirts now! No worries, acne's expensive to deal with. Get used to it!

Dan's got this figured out. I bought 4 tubes of his BP on the first order after reading his "treatment past." My story's very similar. He's been through it all. You can't make that all up. The cleanser is somewhat like Cetaphil...but has some differences. Personally, I'll continue to buy it because it works as well if not better than anything else AND to support Dan's further research on acne. Anyone who hasn't been through it can't help as much. I hope he's a millionaire from this someday.

Pros:

Goes on clear, readily spreads across skin without drying up, does not "clump up" with most moisterizers, less redness and flakes than with Neutrogena On-The-Spot, large size

Cons:

Must be purchased through the Internet

I am 21 years old and just recently started experiencing a resurgence of mild acne. I first started having problems with acne during junior high and high school. As breakouts became less frequent towards the end of high school, however, I made the mistake of assuming that the problem had been largely a puberty-induced one, and stopped taking care of my face. When whiteheads started reappearing in force a few months back, I panicked and went through several over-the-counter products in a period of weeks, hoping to find that ever-elusive overnight miracle product. Needless to say, this only worsened the symptoms. Thanks to Dan's website, I now have a simple, consistent regimen that has been working very well for me: Basis Sensitive Skin soap bar, BP, and Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. I've been on this regimen for about a month now, and my face has cleared up remarkably. I just recently switched to Dan's BP Gel from Neutrogena On-The-Spot, and it is simply a much better prod

Pros:

Even figuring in shipping costs, much cheaper per ounce than similar products available in stores. The gel formulation absorbs better than the cream-based store formula and doesn't roll off when you use moisturizer afterwards.

Cons:

None really. Maybe the fact you have to order it online and wait for a mail order, but that keeps cost low (and it's not a big of problem for us who live in the US compared to foreign countries). At least you get a generous amount in each tube.

This is a great product, and I really appreciate Dan developing it and sharing it with others at a reasonable price. It glides on easily and absorbs well, resulting in using less product compared to what I used of Neutrogena On-the-Spot. It doesn't feel heavy on and doesn't affect moisturizer or makeup application. There is no fragrance. Also, since switching to this gel from On-the-Spot, the regimen works much better for me, and now my skin is almost clear. I find the gel less drying and irritating, too. So, for me, this product is more affordable, more effective, and more pleasant to use than other 2.5% BP products. I would recommend this product to anyone with mild or moderate acne as part of a gentle skin care routine.

Pros:

Very cheap, clear, good texture, doesn't clump, really works!

Cons:

none except that it's not available in stores

Awesome product. I've used quite a few BP's, and this is the best by far. It doesn't irritate me or dry up my skin as much as the other stuff. I even am able to use it during the day sometimes without a moisturizer. Awesome product!

Pros:

Will and SHOULD work if followed to the regiment is followed to the dot.. meaning you do all the steps, the way Dan tells you to!
and also, don't pick your existing pimples, don't touch your face too much, and PATIENCE!
Good luck!

Cons:

Bleeches clothes, dries a lot at first.

Gotta love it! it works! get rid of that acne now! get some BP gel!! and Dan's is the best on the market.

Pros:

The perfect percentage of BP for skin, at a great price, and simple to use. WONDERFUL!

Cons:

None. GREAT PRODUCT!

Dan Kern's BP formula is wonderful. I was so frustrated because all the BP I could manage to find was too strong at the drug store (10%/ 5%) -- and it came in tiny containers (resulting in it being expensive). Dan's product is the PERFECT percentage of BP for skin, at a great price, and simple to use. THANK YOU DAN!
