Go hard or go home

Pros:

Kills acne. Cysts, whiteheads, doesn't matter. Makes your skin nice and smooth.
Prevents new acne from forming after you've used it long enough.

Cons:

Uncomfortable side effects for the first couple weeks / months of usage.
Need fo be consistent.
Makes hyperpigmentation last longer.

I've been using Dan's BP on and off since 2010. All I can say is, it WORKS. If used consistently, it will MURDER your acne. The big stuff, the little stuff, doesn't matter. That's a no-brainer. However, be prepared to fight through the side effects: the redness, the irritation, the itching, the dryness, the flakiness. Don't content yourself with using the Acne.org Regimen products either: find products that work for you... listen to your skin. In the early stages of the Regimen your skin is going to look awful anyway, so use the opportunity to experiment. After a while your skin will get used to the BP. Once you are consistently clear, it is up to you what you do from there: many people have success scaling back on the BP, or switching to a night-only application. Some people don't even have to use moisturizer anymore. Whatever you do, just remember to maintain some degree of consistency: don't drop the BP entirely, and don't do something stupid like stopping cleanser / moisturizer entirely and just using the BP to "spot treat" once a week. Spot treatment isn't going to do you much good; the BP, once you've been on it long enough, acts as a preemptive strike against acne, killing it before it ever surfaces. Some people will complain about using such a harsh chemical on the fragile skin of the face. I agree, BP is a harsh chemical, even at only 2.5% concentration. But you really need to ask yourself: how much does clear skin mean to you? I've suffered from this disease for going on eight years now. I've lost the best years of my life and missed countless opportunities thanks to these hideous pimples that have decided to make themselves at home on my face. At some point you need to realize that enough is enough, you DON'T need to be a slave to acne, you CAN kick its ass and this product will help you do it. Grin and bear it, fight through the side effects knowing that once it's all over and done with, you will be acne-free... do you know how amazing it feels to walk around being complimented on your complexion? You will!

Works well!

Pros:

Clears me up

I've used this product for around 6 months (3 months on, break, and another 3 months). I have to say, it's the only thing that keeps me clear. I have severe acne and my first time trying it I was cleared up within 2 months. I continued to use it til I ran out. I stopped using the product and began to break out 3 months later. I am now back to using it and slowly, but steadily, getting back to clear skin. Although drying at first, I definitely love this product. It is one that i can't be without!

LOVE IT!!!!!!

Pros:

Works quickly
gets rid of acne

Cons:

It dries your skin

My best friend and I both purchased the acne.org regimen almost a year ago. We both suffer from severe cystic acne. Our acne is mostly on our cheeks and chin. We never get acne on our foreheads. When I purchased it I followed the directions exactly how it said. After a week I saw a big difference. Even my family started seeing a difference. The only down side I experienced when I first started using the regimen was I still had acne not as bad which is expected ( it take time to get rid of acne) but my skin was extremely dry. It was flaky and putting make up on top made it so much worst. My friend said this happened to her too. After a month of using it I only had acne scars and I stop using the regimen like the direction said I used it here and there. My friend stop using it after a week because she wasn't getting results like I was. If you are a person that wants to see results quick, please use it for two months and then decide weather it worked or not. I'm not the type that likes to stick to a regimen for to long and I like to try new things. But when ever my acne gets bad I always go back to the Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment. I really don't care for the cleanser or the moisturizer that comes with the regimen, So I didn't repurchase it. You can get better ones from the drugstore. But the Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment works really well. It is the only thing that really help get rid of my cystic acne.

A skincare staple for acne

Pros:

Clears acne
Affordable
Big bottle

Cons:

Flaky skin

I love Dan's BP treatment. I had been using the Clinique 2.5% moisturizer because I had trouble finding a BP treatment-- and this is the answer. It's cheaper than many other BP products around, doesn't over dry or irritate your skin, and lasts for quite some time! I only use this once a day before I go to sleep with the acne.org moisturizer (I use Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean face wash to take off my makeup/as a cleanser, so I never ended up using the regimen's cleanser) and my skin is 99% clear. My hyperpigmentation has significantly faded. This is a great acne treatment and has become a staple for my skincare routine.

This line of product blows

Pros:

can be used as a spot treatment I guess
May work for some

Cons:

Nonstop flaking and drying
Hard to put a moisturizer over such a thick product
Made me breakout worse than I have ever broken out before (Cystic)

Last summer I had regular teenager acne so I thought I would give this product a try right before school starts and finally become clear. I was dead wrong. The first couple of weeks using the product, I saw decent improvement which of course had me excited, and then things turned for the worse. My skin was not only drying terribly from this line of products, but I was breaking out in cystic acne everywhere. I thought I had acne before, but I wouldn't wish the kind of acne I got from this product on my worst enemy. I was not only in psychological pain from being a dumbass trying to continue this product and going to school with a flaky acne riddled face, but I was in physical pain from the cysts and it would hurt if I smiled or tried going to sleep. It took me over 6 months to recover from that kind of acne I received and I have awful red marks and probably permanent acne scars because of it. I wish I took them up on their offer and asked for a refund. I was so upset with this I just threw it all out without thinking of getting my money back. Honestly, I don't even care about the money...I just wish I never tried this product in the first place.

Been using for 4 years

Pros:

inexpensive
works reliably

Cons:

drying

As mentioned above I've been using this product for about four years. Prior to that, I'd tried countless other products to help with my skin. I still get some hormonal acne once a month, but the BP helps clear it up very quickly, as long as I faithfully apply it twice a day. In general my skin is pretty clear these days and I'm really happy to have found this product. The only negative is that I'm prone to dry skin, so I have to moisturize a lot to avoid flakiness.

Best BP

Pros:

works
blends in smoothly
doesnt dry white/ when you sweat it doesn't sweat white (drugstore BP did that)

Cons:

bleachs hair and clothes
drying if not used with moisturizer
may cause rash or peel sensitive skin

When i first started the regimen i didn't want to spend $45 on Dan's products and i also didn't know if BP was gonna help so i bought the BP from the drugstore as well as everything else. The drugstore BP was amazing as it helped clear my acne tremendously, the only reason it wasn't completely cleared is because i only did it ones a day. The acne.org BP is 100 times better because it spreads easier and gets absorbed faster and also when i used the drugstore one it dried white and came off with the moisturize, this BP has not dried me out as i use it in conjunction with the moisturizer (i have dry skin). Also some people say the BP doesn't work for them but there might be a reason. my friend was using BP and it did nothing for her but when she used salicylic acid it was wonderful for her but it did nothing for me. so just remember everyone's skin is different and maybe you should try the regimen just substitute the BP for salicylic acid and see how it works for you. Good luck :)

Love it

Pros:

Goes on smoothly
It works
No residue or white blotches

Cons:

Bleaches fabric/hair
not found online

I have been using this for 6 months and its the only thing that has worked for me. Previously was on minocycline for 2 years, tazorac, benzaclin, epiduo differin and clyndomycin etc. Decided to give it a try when the new year started, it is june now and I have the cleared skin since it all started. I bought the whole kit at first, but then decided the treatment is the most important part. It goes on nicely, you don't really need to use quite as much as it recommends, I have been using 1 finger length morning and night at it works well for me. Seriously thy this, give it a good 2-3 month and you should see significant improvement. My sis loves it too!!

10% Benzoyl Peroxide Lotion/Cream Treatment (store generics)

Pros:

Reduces Inflamed pimples
Great for mild or occasional breakouts
Affordable

Cons:

Not always effective for those with moderate to severe acne (get Accutane!)
May dry or burn face for those with extra sensitive skin
1-5% of this treatment will do nothing. Get 10% only.

This is not a cure for acne. In fact, I only recommend this product to those experiencing mild to fairly mild breakouts or those who very rarely get any breakouts. Great for spot treating those extra inflamed pimples. I HIGHLY recommend the 10% version of this. You can get it for under six bucks if you spend a couple minutes digging for it through the store's generic brands.
