Acne.org : Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%)

I am disappointed to have to write a bad review. I've used this product for nearly four months now, but have had to stop altogether at this point as my face is worse than it has ever been. Everything started out great. I've historically suffered from moderate acne on my forehead, chin, and under my jaw line which gets very bad when stressed or hormonal fluctuation. After a particularly bad breakout that left a nasty scar, I tried this product and the regimen. I thought I had found the answer to my woes since it initially worked great! Within just a couple of weeks, I had no new breakouts and my scars were actually fading and any bumps I had were shrinking. Well, after two months I started to notice that I was getting new bumps in places that I had never really gotten them before, but they were small and were not coming to a head at all. This seemed better to me than having huge, pus-filled pimples, so I charged on with using the product. Unfortunately, the bumps just started to increase in numbers until my entire face is now covered with them everywhere this product has touched. I had been slathering it all over my face and halfway down my neck to ensure I covered any area where I had previously gotten pimples. I now have bumps everywhere on my face including in my eyebrows and behind my ears. I can't even believe how bad it is. I stopped using the product one week ago and every bump on my face is now growing and coming to a head. It's so upsetting, but it seems to be a process I need to go through in order to '˜cleanse' my skin from this product. I also just don't know what else to do but watch it happen. I'm washing my face twice daily with nothing but water at this point since I'm afraid to put anything on my face at all. I just hope I can get back to where I was before using this product at all and this new acne covered face is not permanent.

I was reluctant to use any sort of benzoyl peroxide product at first because I used it for years off and on, and it never really was effective. I am glad I gave this a shot now. Both the treatment and cleanser products have worked with persistent use. I stayed close to the recommendations Dan set forth. And I must say, after some purging and cycling, I am 90 percent clear as long as my stress levels stay down. I had suffered with nodular acne when I was young and it reoccurred 12 years after accutane was successful, followed by a topical antibiotic which failed after 12 yrs. I am now 48 yrs young-- ha ha, and have what my derm calls chronic, incalcitrant acne. So I definitely have come to realize that there is much hope for this kind of treatment product. The low concentration with heavy application reduces the adverse effects fairly well, but works to control the acne overgrowth. That seems to be the case. I wish I had tried this many years ago. I order all 3 items from Dan's regimen and bottom line is, it works. However if you are suffering from mild to moderate adult acne like me and also want to avoid skin aging at the same time, this is not the solution. If I had discovered this in my teens, it would have bee a revolution and I'm sure my more resilient young skin would have coped better with the drying effects, However despite giving this a good go (4 weeks), my skin was unbearably sore and dry. Having done further research due to my skin just not acclimatising to the bp, there is also some risk of aging and being in my 30's it's a risk I didn't want to take! So overall, younger skin, give this a go, there is no doubt it is highly effective. Older skin, I would not recommend this at all, however do not despair, I also ordered the 10% aha and that has been fanastic!

I literally tried everything to treat my acne in the last 10 years, but only this product helped. I even tried benzoyl peroxide before prescribed by my dermatologist (it was combined with antibiotics), but my skin reacted terrible to it that time, no matter what I tried. I have really sensitive skin and not only acne but also eczema sometimes, so even my daily skincare is a bit complicated. I read that this treatment is not suitable for my extremely sensitive skin, and I asked my dermatologist and she literally forbid me to try it. But I tried anyway and it took a bit longer for my skin to adjust, but after more than 3 months of suffering from itching and terrible flaking suddenly all irritation disappeared and my skin started to look better than ever in my life!

i have been using this benzoyl 2.5% for 1 year and it works for me it doent dry my face off but it doesnt clear all 100% but im happy with the result and will continue use it

I am so ooooooo in love with this product!!! I've struggled with acne and dark spots since I was 14, and I am now 28. My break outs have calmed down over the years to where only at that time of the month I would breakout. I stumbled upon the mentioned of Acne.org when watching an YouTube guru rave about this regimen. I was spectacle about trying this product at first because years of trying drugstore products, proactive, and Murad. My dark spots we're mainly from using Murad, that product made a little situation into to a nightmare. I broke out so bad that my skin was sensitive and cystic acne occurred for months. Once the cystic acne cleared up I was left with a face full of dark scars. For fourteen years these scars have not gone away until I came in contact with this miracle worker here. I purchased only the cleanser, the treatment, and AHA+, and used my own store bought oil free facial moisturizer that my face was use to and did not make me break out. Starting the regimen twice a day, I saw immediate results in 2 days. Pimples I had disappeared within a day or two and those big stubborn ones 3 or 4 max and stayed away. Then within the 5th and 6th day I noticed the dark spots vanishing. I've been using this regimen for 2 weeks tomorrow and already my skin is breakout free, the dark spots has vanished in areas and on my cheeks, jaw and chin where it was the most damage are fading away. I couldn't believe the results, but when others start to see the improvements in my skin and this new glow, I knew then that I found a holy grail to my new skin care regimen. I really think the treatment is the Golden child in this regimen, because I have not used the AHA+ yet cause of the recommended time to use in months time of start of regimen I only think things will continue to only get better. I am such a believer in this regimen that I went ahead and subscribed for the long term and recommended to everyone I know and even strangers whether they are suffering from acne or not. I am so happy I found this regimen because at 28 years old I've found the confidence I lost 14 years ago and I owe the Acne.org family for that and I am forever Greatful ☺

I have been suffering from cystic hormonal acne since I was 10. I have tried just about EVERYTHING you can imagine and nothing ever worked--my skin went through some extreme ups and downs with all the trial and error I put it through. Nothing would ever achieve perfect clearness. The best I could do was make my severe acne become more moderate/mild. This was VERY depressing!!!! Here I am, 15 years later, and I finally found Acne.org and The Regimen. All the sparkling reveiws the Regimen had made me believe I could have perfect skin so I odered everything and followed Dan's instructions as perfectly as I could! I'll be honest, in the first 2 months, my skin had become EXTREMELY dry, flaky and ITCHY--I started with a very small amount of Dan's BP (just as Dan recommended) even though I had been using Proactiv's BP for years. I almost gave up 😥 thinking my skin must be too sensitive for the Regimen, but because everyone else on this site said you have to push through it, I kept religiously using the regimen. I AM SO HAPPY I DID!!!!! I'm on month 4 now and my skin is COMPLETELY clear and the dry flakes are mild to GONE!!! I added Josie Maran's Argan oil (my skin breaks out with Jojoba oil, I must be a rare case) and that made all the difference. THE REGIMEN WORKS!!!!!!! Don't give up no matter what and you WILL see the results you're looking for!!!! I will sing Dan and his Regimen's praises for the rest of my life!!!!! 😄😄😄

This product is AMAZING and is the only things that helps my acne. I've tried EVERYTHING on the market and have suffered from acne almost my entire life. THIS IS THE ONLY STUFF THAT WORKS FOR ME! AND MY SKIN IS BEAUTIFUL! (something I never thought I would EVER say!) The company is also AMAZING. Not only are they cruelty free and animal product free, but the customer service is OUTSTANDING. An order I placed somehow was not sent to me (which in the 4+ years I've been a customer has NEVER happened.) Not only did they give me a full refund, $25 store credit, and the product I ordered, but they sent me TWO ENTIRE acne regimen kits for absolutely free! I suffered from cystic acne since the age of 13, and finally discovered this product from doing some serious internet research at the age of 26 (January 2012). Before using the treatment, I was using Clearasil Ultra (10% BP), and suffered from painful and chronic acne that left me suffering from a serious lack of self esteem. I got engaged at 25 and wanted very badly to have clear skin for my wedding in September 2012, so after reading all of the reviews I decided to give this product a try. I only purchased the BP treatment, and used it with Oil of Olay foaming face wash, along with Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer (0.5% salicylic acid), and also began taking zinc every day, and my face immediately began to clear up within only a couple of weeks, if that. My face was completely clear and radiant for my wedding, with not a single pimple in sight in any of my wedding photos. I can't tell you how happy and confident this product has made me feel! My face has been the clearest that it has ever been since I was very young, and the cystic, painful acne has completely disappeared. I rarely get pimples now (April 2013), and my skin looks radiant and smooth. It's almost difficult to believe that this is even possible. I wish that I had discovered this product earlier, and avoided all of the pain that having horrible acne all those years caused me. If you are scouring the internet for a treatment for your acne, and are feeling like nothing will ever work, I am begging you to please try this product out. If you are using BP that is in high concentration, like I was, immediately stop because that is most likely the reason why you are breaking out so badly--it is very damaging and irritating to your skin, and in this case, less BP is definitely more!! Please take my word for it, and if you don't want to buy the entire regimen, at least try what I am using and see if it works for you! :) Good luck!!
