Not for me
I have struggled with moderate/severe cystic acne since I was 12 (I'm currently a 31 y.o. female). I followed this regimen exactly for 4 months with absolutely no improvements in my skin. If you have hormonal acne, this may not work for you.

Works fast and effectively
I've been using the regimen on and off for many years, and it definitely works. A first time user should find minor relief within just one day/night; as the skin will feel a bit drier (in a positive way) and a tiny reduction in acne overnight. Within a few weeks, it sticks and works more and more. The effect tapers off within 1-2 weeks after you stop using it. It's important to follow the instructions particularly for the benzoyl peroxide part, particularly the part about thoroughly rubbing it in after applying it. Otherwise, you're left with a wet and icky feeling on your face. It's also important to not skimp on the moisturizer, or your skin will get dry. To name a few downsides of the product: It smells a bit icky, feels a bit wet (rub it in thoroughly but gently to minimize this), and bleaches textiles. You really can't apply it in the morning and head out for school or work; it will smell and feel uncomfortable, particularly if you mix it up with the moisturizer, and your clothes will get bleached. I just apply it in the evening after my daily shower and it will be fully absorbed the morning after. I put on a white t-shirt (white textiles do not get miscolored by it) for the evening, before applying it. One more note: You can use other face wash and moisturizer products; the cheap and plentiful amounts of benzoyl peroxide treatment is what makes the regimen great. I would give benzoyl peroxide 4 stars because of the downsides of smell and bleaching, but that's not the fault of the regimen, so I give 5 stars all in all.

Excellent
If only the shipping to Australia was less costly... Great products, especially the BP which seems more soothing than the cheaper Dr Song version. Really compliment each other well. What would I do without Dan's products? Probably hide again for another 10 years!

Adult Acne
Getting use to this product takes time, but it was worth the wait. I have been using this product since Fall 2012 and have little to no skin issues now. As maintenance, I only need to use it once a day and can even skip a day here or there. However, if I completely stop then it starts to come back. I used Accutane many years ago and due to never ending stress I started to break out again, but thanks to the Regimen I have been able to control it and it cost less than the $65 a month I was spending on a prescription from my Dermatologists.

Absolute Miacle !!

Pros:

Does what it says
Clears completely
Leaves the skin glowing

Cons:

Dryness and Flakiness( for few weeks until you get used to)

I am so glad after seeing a big difference in my skin. I never had severe acne before but recently 6 months ago due to stress , my face had few pimples here and there and it then grew more. I have tried different home made remedies as well as I tried using Clearasil products but the product involved scrubbing and that made my skin even worse. One day I met a friend who had acne problem in the past and when I met her and her skin was perfect and glowing. I asked her how and then I came to know about this miracle . I immediately ordered the products, though it took a while for my kit to come. Second kit I ordered was here in 3 days. Very Impressive . Initially I started with the Cleanser , Treatment and moisturizer and my skin went from oily to dry and the moment I started increasing the dosage of BP my skin was experiencing extreme flakiness. But after about 5 weeks I was used to BP and my skin started reducing on itchiness. As Dan says more itchiness more acne, less itchiness less acne. Gradually I introduced after 6 weeks The Regimen Kit Plus which has AHA+ and Jojoba Oil. My skin cleared drastically. Its been 2 months and 2 weeks now and I still have few weeks to go to get my skin clear completely. I am going to stick to this products as they are perfect for the skin. But I totally recommend this product to everyone. Follow the step as instructed and it will work wonders.

One month of usage, happy!

Pros:

prevents new pimples
less oily skin

Cons:

Moisturizer smells, cannot be used with your significant other
Itchy face & neck

I started using it on December 16th, in am (in pm, I was using DIfferin) for a week or two, and afterwards only Regimen (no Differin). It made difference already after the first week! However, I did not follow the dosages of BP and instead listened o my skin - I have tried using more BP but then as soon as I did, my face hurt so much that it was painful to talk! Keep in mind, my acne is mild and only on my chin and forehead, the rest of my face is normal skin. Currently, I only apply it on spots and I have no pimples on my forehead, and 2 pimples on my chin (used to be 10!). After 2 weeks of using, my face and for some reason neck (though I did not apply any BP on neck) became extreeemly itchy so I had to tell myself to stop scratching it. Now it seems like my skin calmed down since I am not trying to increase BP dosage.

Amazing results but for how long?

Pros:

clears skin/complexion/cystic acne
scars diminish over time
affordable

Cons:

dry & burning during first wks
must follow regimen correctly
acne shows up after stopping

I've suffered from acne since the tender age of 13 now 35. I have sensitive combination skin. Very oily in the summer & dry/oily in the winter. Anyone that suffers from Acne knows how it affects our social lives and self esteem. As I grew older and had more money to spend on treating it, I tried OTC products (you name it), proactive (worked for less then a yr), chemical peels (only a temp solution & very expensive), prescription drugs, which didn't help (taxing on your internal health), sodium sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfur 5% cloths. I finally gave the REGIMEN (wondering why my dermatologist never recommended it) a try and it's changed my life. In the first few wks it would burn for a few seconds after applying, drying, peeling, but after two months the changes were amazeballs! I have no signs of acne, cystic acne & even the black heads on my nose are gone. I still get a small zit during that time of the month but thats it & clears away qkly. Normally my skin would flare up everywhere especially on the sides of my face. I recommend this product to everyone, however, knowing your skin helps you determine how much BP to start with. I started with half an index finger length since my face is sensitive. Since my skin can also be naturally oily I don't use much of the moisturizer & only had to use the jojoba oil during the first few wks for the tough peeling/dry days. Jojoba oil is great for my cuticles & other things so I keep it around. There are days that I feel comfortable enough to use a whole index finger length of BP. On days that I'm peeling I use a facial brush while I cleanse with the regimen cleanser. This helps loosen up your peeling flakes & cell turnover (once a month)..it's been about 8+ months of using the regimen religiously and exactly. My main concern now is how long will this miracle last and does your skin eventually become immune to the BP? Please comment below if you've been using this for over a yr & still loving it. Thx Update: after about 6 months of using these products I have noticed rash type bumps all over my forehead and face. I tried giving my face a break and it just went crazy! I am now back to searching for something else because it appears that this can be harsh. Your skin will also act out immediately after you stop.

Effective, but takes some time

Pros:

Effective
Large Quantity

Cons:

Online only
Takes Time

August 2013 I had reached the end of my rope. I've suffered from acne since middle school and it's always demeaned my self confidence. I've been on birth control, antibiotics, and almost started accutane after receiving cystic breakouts. I was depressed and desperate and after much research I decided to try the regimen. In combination with reducing dairy and my picking tendencies, It worked. It does take some time. This is not an over night miracle, no acne treatment is. This bp has a gel base which takes a few minutes to dry. The bp does stay clear throughout the day. I feel the wash and moisturizer are unnecessary (go ahead and use Cetaphil for cleansing and moisturizing.) I also recommend clean and clear persa-gel 10 for spot treatment, this bp is thicker and more drying. My skin is not 100% clear, but I no longer develop cystic acne. Also I ordered the 8oz bp and I'm just now running out and I've had it since August and it is now December. Be patient. Acne sucks, but with the right products and discipline you can greatly improve your skin. :)

*** The Regimen Does Work! Give it a try.....

Pros:

Controls New Acne
Remove blackheads & whiteheads
It clears up your skin. Kill bacteria causing acne.

Cons:

Dry skin
Itchiness
Not sold in store

I have a combination of oily, dry, sensitive skin. I suffered acne since I was 21 yo. I have tried several acne products from over the counter to Dr's prescription. The only thing that really works was a combination of Accutane & acne extraction once a month. After using accutane, my skin was clear & glowing. It was a life saver for me at that time but after 10 months off of accutane, my cystic acne came back. I was put on accutane again, to make my long story short I was put on accutane 3 times but again my acne came back. I tried different prescription capsules though it made me sick but it helps a little bit. Prior to using The Regimen, I saw my Dermatologist to get the prescription and I also visited my Aesthetician 3x for acne extraction but still not much improvement. After reading the reviews about The Regimen, I finally decided to give it a try. I purchased the Regimen Kit and followed the direction precisely ( cleanser, BP & Moisturizer) twice a day. Keep in mind to Start Slow on BP. It is very important. And when in doubt use more. Week 1 I use a pea size of BP and it glides easily & absorbs quickly into my skin. The 2nd day of use, my skin was red, dry and itchy like hell. I would woke up at night finding myself scratching my face. The jaw line was very itchy. Two small pimples came out but goes away in 3 days. Normally my acne lasted longer specially the cystic one would last up to 6 weeks if not longer. My skin starts to dry out so I decided to buy the big kit Plus comes with jojoba oil & AHA. Week 2 I doubled the dosage of BP morning & night. My skin was dry, irritated, flaky, red & itching continues. I got 9 big zits came out but only lasted 4-5,days. I added jojoba oil into my moisturizer to help with the dryness and flakiness. I should of start using the jojoba oil on day 1 of the regimen. I noticed my eyes were red, watery & very sensitive to any lights. I think it got irritated from the BP. I started mixing the jojoba oil & moisturizer and apply it around my eyes & eyebrows.I noticed it did help with my eye irritation but feel the burning in my eyes when Input the BP. The skin on my right face was so red, cracked & flaking. It's hard to put a make up on, it was so caky. It does affect my self esteem but I overcome it by staying positive and I tell my customer that I'm using the Acne Regimen that's why my skin is dry and maybe looks awful:) they don't mind. In the morning, i use the small fan to speed up the drying process since I have to be at work at 7:45. Week 3 Increase the dosage of BP. Skin is still dry but cracked looking is gone. Redness is less and still finding myself scratching. Skin feels tight & dry. Flaking everywhere. Four new zits came out. They're big & painful. I can't wait for them to turn yellow so I can pop them. Yes, I pop my zit & it helps with the healing process. You have to be very extra careful when popping your zit. You don't want it to get infected & spreading the bacteria in your face. These big zits lasted for 7 days. Week 4 Maintain the same dosage of BP. Skin is clear, but still dry & flaky. The itching is less. Got 2 big zit under the skin, it was painful. I put more BP on this troubled area and it helps to shrink the size but didn't completely disappear in 7 days. Overall skin is more clear. Old acne scars are visible. Week 5 - 7 I use the same amount of BP. Skin is less dry. Redness & itchiness are gone. The 2 big zit under the skin on week 4 are completely gone. I applied 1/2 AHA+ 1/2 moisturizer into my night regimen twice a week. The AHA stings my skin but it wasn't too bad. On week 6, I started to use AHA alone once a week and I love it. It exfoliate my skin and get rid off the dry skin and peeling. My skin is clear. I would get a pimple or 2 around my period but they're gone in 3 days. So far I am happy with the result. I am glad I tried the Regimen and I am committed to continue using the regimen because it does work for me. You just have to be patience and pass those worst weeks because in the end you'll be smiling like me. If you're struggling with acne, give it a try and follow the regimen precisely. You'll see the results yourself. Good luck!
