Irritating
Did nothing for cystic acne. Caused the lumps to harden. Not recommended for severe cases.

All Natural

Pros:

Natural product
Non comedogenic
Effective

Cons:

Smell

I used this as a spot treatment. It dries out acne very well. I just dab it on with a cotton swab and it does the job. It's not to drying or harsh either.

Pros:

Helps dry up pimples faster
Great as a toner when diluted

Cons:

Strong herbal smell

I dilute my tea tree oil with water and use as a toner over my problem areas, or I'll just use it straight to spot treat. It's definitely reduced the size of my pimples and helped them clear up faster. Smell is very strong though, I got used to it.

Pros:

Good on smaller, milder acne.
Does Work.
not too drying

Cons:

The smell, everyone hates it. I, like it.
May dry and burn....but not really? Unless used improperly.
Doesnt work for harsher acne.

I use this as a go to spot treatment for midler pimpels that pop up on my cheek. Reduces sweeling works fast, and makes a pimple go away in 1-3 days(: Doesnt work on REALLY infalmed acne. Good thing for your occasinoal zit. Dont use this for treating seriouser acne. It wont work for tohse that need something liek Differin. And its organic(:

Pros:

helps acne, after long-term consistent use

Cons:

smells, takes a while to work (think 4-6 weeks), requires huge quantities

This only appreciably helped my acne when I used it neat (undiluted) for several weeks. I can't wear it out because of the smell so I'd wear it to bed, but I hate the smell. It didn't perform wonders on my acne, just improved it somewhat. I ultimately left this off to try other things but still use it as a spot treatment or as part of a mask.

Pros:

- dries cystic acne
- prevents new red pimples from forming
- works wonders as a spot treatment

Cons:

-your pregnant sister will find the smell very badd!!! lol
- dries skin if not diluted
-does not reduce redness

ive had acne since i was 16. i am now 17 haha but point is ive been getting more and more acne not severe but a little less then moderate and it annoys cuz my skin use to be clear. maybe its just my hormones or maybe cuz ive been gaining weight and eating alot of junk food. anyways ive been using tea tree oil as a spot treatment and really reduces the size guaranteed!!! it surely doesn't reduce redness but wit some eye drops the redness does go on. but u should put plenty of moisturizer because its drying. i still have acne but tea tree oil kills alot of ur big ones !!!

Pros:

balances skin texture
minimizes oily/dehydrated look of skin
prevents pimples from worsening - nips at the bud
makes skin look smooth and glowy

Cons:

smell (but I happen to like it)
can sting if it gets in your eyes
not a miracle cure

This is the closest I've gotten to a HG product. I've tried a myriad of different things for my mild/moderate acne, uneven skin tone, and oily/dry combination problems. After doing Proactiv for many years (which was a great quick fix but began to dehydrate my skin), I decided to switch to all natural products (i.e. grapeseed oil for makeup removal, rose water for toner, etc). Tea tree oil has so far had the best effect on me among my natural products! Every night I put a drop or two on a cotton pad, then a couple drops of warm water, and use it as a toner all over my face. Sometimes I mix it with rose water instead, but for some reason I think the warm water works better. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and glowy! The areas of my skin that were dry and bumpy feel smoother and more hydrated, and the areas that were oily feel more taut, in a good way. Although it is an oil, however, it can be drying, so a good moisturizer after application is necessary. It is much cheaper than the high-end toners (Bobbi Brown) I was using, so it's worth a try for those who are skeptical.
