Pros:

Has really helped to prevent the little under the surface hormonal cysts that I get along my jawline and neck.

Cons:

I could see cost being the main con for most people. Fortunately, my insurance pays for most of it.

I have been using this every AM for a few months now and am quite pleased. My doc recommended this, along with Differin cream for PM, and an oral medication. I never filled the oral, and stopped using the Differin after I found that the Cosmedix Refine 8% product I have used for years works better, and I only apply that every few nights. Other than those two products, I just use wash (Vanicream bar at night and Cosmedix Purity wash in AM) and a good sunscreen every AM before makeup (Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF 30 or higher). Haven't had a break out in months. I do also get a mild chemical peel once per month. Between the peel and product I'm probably averaging at least $100 a month on my face, but it is well worth it to be clear and confident. I have struggled with mild to moderate acne for over 20 years. But ever since finding a routine that works for me, I get compliments on my skin frequently and people often guess my age at 10 years younger! Good luck all.

Pros:

Clears skin, helps picked pimples heal faster, doesn't bleach clothes, no smell

Cons:

generic brand comes in bottle that leaks when you try and travel with it

I have tried almost everything for those under the skin breakouts and nothing has ever worked. I have been dealing with this since I was 10 years old and am now 25. I would actually miss out on trips to the beach or any other activity that could cause my makeup to come off. I tried this medication after seeing it on this sight and I finally can let people see me with out makeup. One side of my face was always red and broken out and now it is almost flawless. I had no reaction to this medication. My skin got better right away. I can not say enough about it. I combined it with the proactive wash and every now and then a saciylic acid astringint. The bottom line is though that this medication is what made the difference. Everytime i use it I pray it keeps working bc it seems to good to be true.

Pros:

Clear, dries fast, doesn't stain clothes. Cleared skin in only 2 weeks.

Cons:

During 1st week of use, had reaction to it, developed bumps on cheeks, however they went away within another week.

Suffered from white heads on back, shoulders and chest for 10 years, this is the first time I have ever had dependably clear skin. I can now wear swimsuits and shirts that showcase my collarbone without worrying. Now I love my skin!

Pros:

Dries quickly, odorless, not sticky

Cons:

Without insurance, it's expensive; thankfully, I do, in fact, have insurance.

It works.

Pros:

In my early 40's, I have had mild acne for about two years, particularly on my hairline near my scalp. I have a generic sodium sulfetamide wash and it has been great, particularly in reducing the oiliness of my forehead.

Cons:

Even using a washoff cleanser, I can still smell the sufur smell on my face, especially when I exercise or am at yoga class. Yuck.

The smell is a small price to pay. The product is easy to use, cheap, and my face looks and feels really clean and oil free for the first time in two years.

Pros:

Doesn't dry out skin
Decent oil control
Doesn't smell too strongly

Cons:

Not as effective as I thought

Since I started using this 3 weeks ago, I've been getting those really painful, large, under the skin pimples. I rarely get those. I'm not sure if this is just part of the transition process, or if something else is causing the acne. It has been humid lately. Overall, I do like the face wash because it does a good job of removing oil without drying out my skin. However, I am still getting pimples. I also use Benzaclin twice a day and Differin at night. I added Sodium Sulfacetamide (generic) because my doctor suggested it. I will stick it out until the end of the prescription and reevaluate then. But, I would still recommend it because even if it doesn't prevent pimples, it's at least a good face wash for acne-prone people.

Pros:

I use the Sulfacet-R version and it works consistently well. It clears up pimples without leaving scars, but it is important not to bother the acne; just apply the lotion. It is not meant to heal acne scars, so I would use another product for that.

Cons:

There are no cons to report.

OTC products did not work for me, so my dermatologist prescribes this and it is very valuable... a little bit goes a long way. It is not covered by my insurance and I pay $60.00 USD, and it is well worth it.

Pros:

Controls oil extremely well...dries up pimples quickly. I used to wake up with really oily skin & don't have that problem at all anymore. Pluse I've noticed it controls my oil production throughout the day as well, I'm not blotting my face like b4.

Cons:

Doesn't smell great...I use Sulfacet-R.

I recommend it to anyone...I'm suprised that I'm 32 and this is the first time I've heard of it or tried it. Although I had never seen a dermatologist before now either. I don't pay anything for it because of my drug plan, so I'm not even sure how much it normally costs in Canada.
