Pros:

It works! My 9 month post-accutane skin was starting to get mild breakouts again. Within a month, my skin has the same glow it used to...
It didn't work for me pre-accutane (with more severe acne), but it clears up mild acne unbelievably

Cons:

Can make skin a little too dry sometimes...but then I just cut down to once a day or every other day

Love it! Really happy that I've found a maintenance therapy that doesn't make me red and peely (like taz and retin-a). It might not work for severe acne, but if you have oily skin and always a couple of small breakouts, give this a try!

Pros:

In my early 40's, I have had mild acne for about two years, particularly on my hairline near my scalp. I have a generic sodium sulfetamide wash and it has been great, particularly in reducing the oiliness of my forehead.

Cons:

Even using a washoff cleanser, I can still smell the sufur smell on my face, especially when I exercise or am at yoga class. Yuck.

The smell is a small price to pay. The product is easy to use, cheap, and my face looks and feels really clean and oil free for the first time in two years.

Pros:

It works ! Control oil very well, which is usually the cause of acne. Easy to use.

Cons:

It smell....who cares !

I prescribe this to my clients along with The RX Systems Glycolic home care products. I see GREAT results for mild to moderate/semi severe clients. I also do glycolic peels and micros occasionally to further the results.

Pros:

This product is the best at clearing up zits quickly. I use it every other night, and when I wake up, any pimples have dried up, and my pores have opened up. It's eliminated my need for antibiotics.

Cons:

It has a rather strong smell, so it can really only be used at night. That also means that, if you are an evening showerer and you don't actually rinse it all of in the morning, that you will walk around with a slight brimstone odor.

One of the most effective acne meds I've ever used.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne. Did not dry out my skin. It was the only medicine that ever had any kind of effect for me.

Cons:

Smells bad.

I only have mild acne, but I get some pretty bad breakouts once in a while. After years of visiting my dermatologist and dozens and dozens of acne prescriptions that didn't work, or did, but dried the heck out of my skin (I have eczema as well as acne, so my skin is especially prone to dryness and flakiness) this stuff was the only stuff that helped. I highly recommend it for people with dry skin that have acne.

Pros:

Controls oil extremely well...dries up pimples quickly. I used to wake up with really oily skin & don't have that problem at all anymore. Pluse I've noticed it controls my oil production throughout the day as well, I'm not blotting my face like b4.

Cons:

Doesn't smell great...I use Sulfacet-R.

I recommend it to anyone...I'm suprised that I'm 32 and this is the first time I've heard of it or tried it. Although I had never seen a dermatologist before now either. I don't pay anything for it because of my drug plan, so I'm not even sure how much it normally costs in Canada.

Pros:

plexion cleanser is wonderful. At first it dried my skin, but after a weeks the dryness went away. Also, buy the plexion sct mask. You wet your face, and put the mask on evenly, and it dries quickly. The mask really tightens up on your face.

Cons:

nothing nothing nothing!!!!!!!!!!!

The cleanser is a great product. after a few days the dryness from the cleanser goes away. If your a woman and you wear makeup. The cleansers drying effect goes away quickly so your foundations and whatever will go on smoothly

Pros:

It works pretty well, I'll still get a small pimple every now and then but no major breakouts and no large ugly zits. It's clear, easy to apply and does not have any negative effects on my skin.

Cons:

None really. Klaron is expensive but there are alternatives available that are much cheaper.

I really like this stuff, my only concern is that it's an antibiotic, so all I'm doing is breeding resistant bacteria and eventually it will stop working. We'll see... As for the cost, here in the US at least there is an alternative drug called Sebizon. Klaron was a non preferred product through my insurance and was a $60 copay. Sebizon is only a $12 copay, and is also available in generic so it only cost me $5. Ask your doctor to write your prescription for Sebizon instead and it will likely save you some money, it's 10% Sodium Sulfacetamide as well and in my experience works just as well.

Pros:

Clears skin, helps picked pimples heal faster, doesn't bleach clothes, no smell

Cons:

generic brand comes in bottle that leaks when you try and travel with it

I have tried almost everything for those under the skin breakouts and nothing has ever worked. I have been dealing with this since I was 10 years old and am now 25. I would actually miss out on trips to the beach or any other activity that could cause my makeup to come off. I tried this medication after seeing it on this sight and I finally can let people see me with out makeup. One side of my face was always red and broken out and now it is almost flawless. I had no reaction to this medication. My skin got better right away. I can not say enough about it. I combined it with the proactive wash and every now and then a saciylic acid astringint. The bottom line is though that this medication is what made the difference. Everytime i use it I pray it keeps working bc it seems to good to be true.

Pros:

I use the Sulfacet-R version and it works consistently well. It clears up pimples without leaving scars, but it is important not to bother the acne; just apply the lotion. It is not meant to heal acne scars, so I would use another product for that.

Cons:

There are no cons to report.

OTC products did not work for me, so my dermatologist prescribes this and it is very valuable... a little bit goes a long way. It is not covered by my insurance and I pay $60.00 USD, and it is well worth it.
