Amazing. !
I have acne prone skin and very very oily. I saw its advertisement on TV and was just wondering if I should really be applying oil to my skin which is so oily already. Anyway I ordered this online and it's just been a week, and I can see the results so visibly clear !! It gets absorbed in skin easily, doesn't cause breakouts and is absolutely non greasy. I hope to get rid of my acne scars really soon.

Dubious but it amazed me
I suffer from both acne (not so bad now but flare ups from time to time and still have extremely sensitive skin) and very dry skin which gets towards flaky in the winter months. Having such sensitive skin I find that oil-moisturizers make me break out and the non-oil ones, although better than nothing, seem to be instantly absorbed into my skin leaving it still feeling dry. A friend recommended bio-oil and I was dubious; "Oil? On my skin? Really??" However, I was also desperate and so I tried it. I started off at first on the T-Zone as I didn't want to stray into my more spot prone areas until I saw how the rest of my skin reacted. After one use my skin was already feeling better. It felt fresher, the dryness was massively reduced and when I woke up in the morning (having put it on the night before) I just felt more fresh faced. Because it was improving the dryness and smoothness of the skin it also meant my make up went on and stayed on better! After a couple of weeks with no reaction to it I expanded onto my chin and the rest of my face. Although I don't think it is a 'spot eradicator' as I do still get them the spots I have gotten since using this are less aggressive in nature and the skin feels more balanced. I would definitely recommend it if you suffer from dry skin and are scared of aggravating your acne. I forgot to put it on one night and when I woke up my face was almost as dry as it had been before I started using it! This is definitely an addition to my skin care routine for life.

Pros:

well priced
not overly fragranced (natural smell)
doesn't give you that oily look
by the end of the 3 months (which is the minimum you should stay on it) you can see noticeable results
works great as a toner. reduces redness, evens skin tone
you can see improvements on scars and stretch marks
works great on OLD scars too
ingredients are good

Cons:

doesnt prevent/improve acne
doesn't completely make scars disapear (just diminishes/fades them)

If you buy this at Walmart, it is roughly $12 for the 2 fl oz and $20 for the 4.2 fl oz ( i always go with the latter). however, costco just started selling 6.2 fl oz for $21 (good deal!). and the 4.2 fl oz will last you at least 3 months, so i definitely think it's well priced. for those who are worried that it's oily: not so. i have oily skin and the stuff works great. it mosturizes but doesnt give me that shiny look & it has never dried out my skin. (the trick is to use just enough - a little goes a long way- and the more/longer you rub it in, the more it is absorbed and less oily it looks). i've been using this for about 2 years (as a daily mosturizer & scar remover) and i think it works more effectively on stretch marks than scars. i had some stretch marks and i used bio oil on them for about 1-2 months and they're completely gone. on my scars, they're still there but just faded. if you're looking for miracle stuff to make them disappear forever & instantly, this isnt for you. it does make them fade a great amount though acne wise, i have not seen improvents since i started the product. (maybe it has gotten even slightly worse, but i dont know if it's from this product or something else i'm using)

Pros:

makes skin softer
fades acne scars
a little goes a long way

Cons:

slow to absorb
a little expensive

This product is really working for me. I have olive to medium brown skin, and light acne.. so when I get acne scars, I REALLY get acne scars...the trick is to get small drops on your fingers and then really rub it into your skin....you have to really rub in circles over your scar, until it has almost absorbed...if you do not rub it into your skin then you are just placing it onto the top layer, which actually doesnt do anything What I do is first gently exfoliate the skin, rinse with cold water, and then aplly small amounts of bio oil onto my fingers. Then i gently rub in circles onto my skin (your skin should turn a little bit pink from the heat and circulation) and then just do that until it has all absorbed if you leave some of the oil on your skin then yes, it will break you out. Just use a little and remember to RUB IT ALL IN!

This product is great but it isn't made for my skin
It is a great product but only if you don't have an oily skin. I used it for scar treatment. It did help with the scars and my skin felt softer and good but it made my skin to break out. Not being sure about what was causing the break outs at that time, I kept using it for like 2 weeks. What it did to my skin was curing the old scars and giving new pimples. I will just say it is worth giving a try. Everyone is different. I love this product but the breakouts are keeping me from using it, still I am finding a way to make it work out for my skin. I am gonna give it a try again by mixing it with tea tree oil and then using it.

good
I have really dry skin and have tried lot's of things to try. I also have a few blemish scars that are so annoying and by the end of the day, even with makeup on they are visible. i had just about given up because nothing seemed to be working when a friend gave me this. i didn't like the idea of putting oil on my face, but i couldn't have been more wrong. After two days my skin was hydrated and healthy my blemish scars are now gone and i like it

Did it get rid of your pimples and blemishes after 2 days

Seems good so far
Been using the bio oil for a few weeks. Yes it has caused me to have a few breakouts but the discolouration of my skin from old acne scars has much improved! Personally I think the extra spots are worth the benefits. After about a week or two it didn't seem to upset my skin as much! I'll continue to use it for the recommended minimum of three months as it has given me back some confidence with a bare face! Don't knock it until you give it a decent chance. Any new products can unbalance your skin to start. Give it at least a month guys!

does it work for pitted acne scar?
November 14, 2011

Pros:

It works.
not as oily as other oils, eg vit e
smells nice.
cheap

Cons:

none.

you dont seem to see results until maybe 2 or 3 weeks, so you have to be patient and consistently use it. some people say it makes them break out, but it didnt for me. i used it around three times a day, and not only did it help with my scars, it helps with dented scars, so id definitely recommend it.

Healthy glow
I use this straight after showering on my face and body. It stops my skin feeling tight and it looks and feels softer. It doesn't take long to absorb into the skin and I find it's a great base for make up. Best of all, it doesn't cause breakouts for me, I've stopped getting blackheads and I've noticed my pores are less noticeable since I started using this a few month ago. I would say though that it's not particularly moisturising on its own. After a particularly dry winter, the skin on my face got a bit flakey so I started to use e45 cream at night after washing my face. This has has helped moisturise my skin enough that I use Bio oil in the day as a light, easily absorbed, base for make up. I should point out that this works best (as with most moisturisers) when you apply it to slightly damp skin to seal in natural moisture. Also less is more if you're thinking of applying other products on top.
