It didn't lighten my scars or stretch marks anything. It's just mineral oil with fragrance. it's not a miracle product like some people make it out to be.waste of money!

no miracles
I bought it to help heal and speed up my break outs, at first it seemed great but unfortunately for me it started to cause breakouts. It didn't provide any miracles for me.

Pros:

Great moisturizer
Smells nice
Available everywhere

Cons:

Very oily.
Tiny bit expensive

Perhaps I didn't use this religiously as I should have. Just found it so oily to use on a regular basis After reading these reviews, I would buy this again and start using on a regular basis. I did use this on my face once to help with acne scaring and it didn't make me break out but I do have very dry skin. I more used this at night time as a moisturizer for my hands.

Doesnt seem to be effective?
So Ive been applying bio oil for about a few months every night on a burn scar I have. Im seeing no improvements whatsoever. It happened from the exhaust pipe of a motorbike (ouch) and the scar is about the size of half my palm which I think is pretty noticeable. I lost the layer of skin and about a year later its now a lighter skin tone. Ive been extremely self conscious of it and have been well aware of everyone looking at it. It does look pretty bad though but I dont feel pain or anything.Maybe it needs more time but Im not very sure :/ nearly have given up on the product. anyone using bio oil on scars also not have improvements? if anyone could recommend anything for burn scars to 'fade' or lessen that would be greatly appreciated! :)

Caster oil is a great scar remover. I know a girl that had the exact same scar as yours in her leg. With time and commitment, it will help. Research it and give it a try :)

There are better products

Pros:

could work

Cons:

takes too long
breaks face out

I would not use this product on my face for acne scarring as there are better treatments out there. This tends to block the pores ad break the face out. Probably more ideal for stretch marks etc. Would rather use rosehip or tea tree or emu oil.

Pros:

it probably works better on body scars than facial scars

Cons:

caused acne cysts

i initially purchased bio oil to rid the few acne scars i had. biggest mistake ever.. it caused even MORE acne! i went from having a small line of acne on my cheekbones, to full blown cystic acne all over both cheeks.. in places where i previously never even had a pimple. once i stopped using it, the acne cysts lessened in a few weeks, but i am now stuck with red little scars all over both cheeks.

Pros:

cheap, easy to get hold of, gave skin a nice dewy look

Cons:

very oily consistency,, makes your skin greasy

I bought this product because i had minor acne scars on my face, used it for about a month and a half, and at the beginning it did make my skin look nice and was an easy base for make up to be put on, about a month later my skin became horrendously congested! blackheads and little spots erupted all over my cheeks, and when i consulted a dermatologist she said it was because of the oil and that it was clogging my pores. so bottom line, unless you have really dry skin, do not use this, maybe use it on any scars on your body, but definitely not for face! try jojoba oil if you have dry skin on your face, works much better and is cheaper.

Pros:

If you have dry skin, this product will add moisture.

Cons:

However, if you have hope that it will soften acne scars and stretch marks, don't get excited about seeing any improvement. I used the product consistently for 6 months, twice a day.

Good for dry skin but ineffective for the appearance of scar reduction. I'm always up for trying new products, and will continue. Eventually developers will discover a remedy for those of us who are suffering from the results of teenage acne.

Pros:

- Cheap
- Available in chemists, pharmacies..etc

Cons:

- Did not lighten scars
- Did nothing for stretch marks
- Oily

I used the entire bottle but it did not do anything for my scars or acne. I also experimented on my body stretch marks and it did nothing. It was gentle on my skin but just made it feel extra oily on my already extremely oily skin. Good if you have dry or flaky skin.

May help clear red marks after acne.. but I believe it does clog pores.

Pros:

Good scar treatment

Cons:

Pore clogging
Greasy
Expensive

As far as scar treatment goes, I believe this could help a significant amount.. but you have to be careful using on your face with acne prone skin.. it is an oil.. and very well could clog pores.
