Simple yet effective

No matter what cleansers I have tried to help or reduce my acne, I always go back to dove soap bars. This particular one is simple, last lot longer than liquid soaps, no harsh ingredients, or bippy-boppy-boo fighting acne stuff, but yet cleanses the skin. Not only that I used this on my face but also on my body (cause it is also sensitive as well). I had also recommend this to my boyfriend cause not only his skin is very sensitive, but its also budget friendly (he used to buy this liquid soap that  is hypoallergenic but cost $$$$$). I do like the dove sensitive soap bar, but the reason I gave it a 4 star cause now I am in love with the dove pink (rosa) soap bar. Yes, they both do the same job I felt like the pink one give moisture to the skin. However if the smell of the rosa bothers people, then either the dove original or sensitive soap bar.

My current regimen:

Morning: Nothing (unless if there's a special event then gently cleanse with soap bar for 30 to 45 seconds, rinse, pat dry, and moisturize). If skin feeling tight/dry then slap on moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Night: Cleanse with dove soap bar. If had makeup, then cleanse twice for 30 seconds. Every 2 to 5 days (or just when my skin needs it) exfoliate with a device (a baby rag towelette or hand glove exfoliate). Then use moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Budget friendly?:?? Sure is! And since it is a soap bar, it last much longer.

Does it do its purpose?:?? I believe so. Since it is none acne fighting ingredients, less chances are of irritating the skin.

Would recommend?: Its like a yes and a no thing. If you have normal to oily skin, then yes I would recommend it. However, if you have normal to dry skin, then my recommendation is the pink dove soap. Overall, it will not hurt to try it...give it a shot and see how your skin works and try out different ways.

P.S. it will take about a month to see improvements, so be patience! Also, less is more when it comes to skincare ;)

Don't know why but it works!
In a bout of frustration I hit the reset button and decided to take a less is more strategy with my skin. I used the regular dove bar soap on my face at night followed by apple cider vinegar and cerave pm lotion and my skin loves this. I noticed a change right away the next morning! I know it's the bar soap because I was doing the other two steps with a different cleanser (la Roche posay) and was still breaking out. I am somewhat a skin care snob and have used it all cheap, expensive, natural (yes to tomatoes, galderma labs, alba botanica, aveda, boscia, bareminerals clay chameleon, I could go on) I was shocked that dove of all soaps is what is making my skin look and feel so nice. My skin looks healthier and I don't have any active acne. My cystic acne on the left side of my face is flattening out. I have been using this soap for 1 week now. I do make sure to tone and moisturize ALWAYS and I use a different cleanser in the am (nature's organics) Took off one star because although it is clearing up my skin the white heads on my nose are still there but I plan on using an aha chemical exfoliant for that.

it's good buuuuutttttt........
I always use dove either for face or body. I like that it's moisturizing and cheap compared to other products. The only thing that I don't like is, it doesn't completely removes make-up. It's very gentle to the skin but as a woman who uses make-up, it's important to have it all removed before going to bed to avoid break outs. Either way, I will use this in the morning and Ivory soap for my face at night since it removes the make-up better.

Happy, simply Happy
Although I was very skeptical about the idea of a simple little soap bar being beneficial to my daily face washing regimen but I quickly changed my mind after a friend telling me the info that I was lacking. Coming from a girl that has incredibly beautiful skin I was very trusting in her when she said that this product is a very trustworthy one. So I put away the cetaphil and tried it and would you know, within a week my skin had a very healthy look and I was Proud. Cetaphil is amazing and I would still be using it had I not wanted to try something in bar form.

Good product.

Pros:

Smells clean
Perfect at removing makeup
Gentle

I love this bar of soap. It takes makeup off with ease, smells lovely, won't irritate your skin, and feels just perfect! When my face was irritated from other cleansers, I used this. It doesn't cure acne, but it does soften your skin and calm it, which can definitely help acne calm down and what not. It's also so cheap. You can buy a pack of them for like 5 dollars!

It's a keeper!

Pros:

Inexpensive
Smells and feels nice
Cleans skin well

Cons:

Doesn't really help acne

I have always used Dove soap (not the sensitive version though) since it was recommended by my GP years ago when I first got acne. Sometimes people think it's weird using soap on your face but I love it, makes my skin feel lovely and clean and doesn't dry it out. I can't say it's made a difference either way with regards to acne but it is a good cleanser and doesn't break me out so I can't complain! I always have a bar of Dove on hand, can't go wrong really.

Pros:

Gets rid of acne quickly.
Very quick results.
Smells good.
Cheap.
Noticibly healthier skin.

Cons:

Dries skin but helps the acne

It's very cheap. I've had acne since the 5th grade and its gotten worse over the years. I tried this about 3 days ago and I'm already notices pimples on my forehead are gone or very much smaller. It's gentle on skin and leaves it nice and smooth. I've also noticed it reduces pore size. My brother got a zit on his chin and tried my soap for it and it was gone the next morning. It's a great product and works wonders to your face/body.

Pros:

Non-Irritating
Inexpensive
Non-drying
Easy to use

Cons:

Does not prevent acne

It's extremely mild and a great way of cleansing your face. However, for acne, it's more geared toward people who are on topically applied acne medications (e.g. retinoids, spot treatments). This is so you can gently clean your face before applying the medication. It's a very basic cleanser just like Cetaphil. When used alone, it won't help prevent acne, but it's certainly a trust-worthy product when it comes to no irritation! Great for people with sunburn, eczema, etc.

Pros:

-Gentle
-Cleans well
-Good for light acne
-Seems to keep pores from clogging

I bought this for my underarms; i've been having trouble with removing the sweat under my arms and i needed something gentle for the irritation there caused by friction and an antiperspirant, and all though it didn't clean my underarms as well as i had hoped, i recently noticed the little bit of back acne i had is gone XD with the hot weather my back was sweating and breaking out but once i began using this soap my bacne went away... i am so surpised! this was an amazing accident! i used to use a glycolic acid body wash once in a while on my back but now i don't need to! and its great cuz that body wash costs a ton! My skin feels really clean with it.. except for my underarms :(

Pros:

Really soft
Works great for body acne
Cheap

Cons:

Bar soap is messy to carry around
doesn't work for face acne

I'm a 19 year old male and have had bad body acne for about 2-3 years now. I use this on my body and it works great for my body acne. I used to have a lot of acne on my back and chest, and I was always too rough when treating it and would over dry and cause a lot of scarring. Now I use dove sensitive bar and it cleared almost all of my body acne, i only get a few small zits sometimes and rarely i get one large one but for the most part its all gone. My scars are also fading slowly. Use a non-oil moisturizer on your body as well so it doesn't over dry. This combination is working great for me and I'm sure all my scars will disappear soon. If you have body acne i recommend dove highly! Be patient when using it because all of your acne won't dissapear in a week, it probably took me several weeks to see the acne go away and several months for most of my scars to fade.
