Pros:

Basis Sensitive Skin Bar is GREAT for acne prone yet sensitive skin; Works best when used consistently, twice a day; After approx. 1 month, my skin is much clearer; Does not irritate my skin; Gets rid of makeup and oil.

Cons:

n/a

I a 33 year old woman with very sensitive, fair skin that is acne prone. I have tried numerous products over-the-counter as well as dermatologist prescribed and have always come back to this soap. I have also spent a great deal of money on "fancy" natural products from Whole Foods, Sephora, and department stores and this is a superior product. The price is extremely reasonable. I have been back on my Basis soap for a little over a month and my skin is MUCH improved. I am not sure why I ever stopped using it. As with anything else, be patient (e.g. 1 month) and use consistently. If you introduce other products after beginning Basis soap you will never know if it is truly working or not. BELIEVE ME, this soap is WONDERFUL. Hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars later, I have found that simplicity with diet, makeup, and Basis is KEY.

Great for me, oily skin
I have very oily adult skin, and, like others, found this to make my skin feel oil free and tight after use, but not over-dried. It doesn't irritate me at all, although will temporarily burn the eyes if you get soap in them (when I do this, the burning dissipates quickly, unlike harsh cleansers which linger). I just use lotion at night and sunscreen during the day. Face feels less oily with sunscreen on too. Only face soap I'll use! Very affordable and accessible- available all over the US.

Pros:

It has been the best facial soap that I have ever used... If used daily out breaks are a thing of the past!

Cons:

I have to try 2 or 3 locations before I can find it in stock.

The fact that I have gone to the trouble to seek out a website for Basis, speaks volumes! I would be horrified if I couldn't find it in stores anymore!!

Pros:

Excellent soap, decent lather, fragrance free, cheap, easy to find

Cons:

Dries skin a bit, lather may not be thick enough for heavy beards

I have recently found this website and decided to try the regimen. I do not have a serious acne problem, only a few pimples and some red skin. Since using this soap, my pimples have gone away and skin has improved. It does dry the skin so I use some Cetaphil moisturizer. But I can find this locally, always keep a spare bar, and it's much better than the "guy" soaps that are overwhelming in fragrance or cause breakouts.

Love but can only use 1x a day
I bought this soap because it is fragrance free and I've read good reviews. I get mild acne on my chin and cheeks and this bar made my face smoother, softer and brighter and cleared up most of my acne. I did find that it was a little drying, however, so I usually only use it once a day since I get lazy about moisturizing. If I use it twice a day I'll make sure to moisturize after so my skin doesn't feel too tight. It does not make my skin dry to the point where it starts to peel or flake though, just makes it feel a little tight. Also fyi the moisturizer I use is the acne.org one. It's the only one I've found that doesn't make me break out. I only use one pump of it, two like they tell you to use is too much for my face, and I always wash my hands before using it.

Pros:

Removes all make-up (even water-proof varieties). Is very mild, e.g. calms redness on my face (I have rosacea type II) and never causes any sort of sensory reaction, breakouts, or clogged pores.

Cons:

Drying in the winter or very dry climates (however, irritability is more important to me than how moisturizing a cleanser is). Fine for summer when it is very humid and skin is more oily in florida. Often hard to find locally.

Have used this for years (especially in the summer months) and have no complaints. It's mild, it cleanses well, and never causes irritation or breakouts for me. It's also cheap as can be. If you're frustrated over your ultra-sensitive skin and tired of searching for a cleanser (especially if the sulfate-based detergents in liquid cleansers do not agree with your skin), then skip all the other beauty bars and try this one first. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Pros:

Removes my makeup very well, is very affordable, and will last forever.

Cons:

Stings my eyes if it gets in them and is a little drying.

A good cleanser to remove the daily dirt and makeup.

Pros:

This is a good wash for the skin and keeps it nice, not dry, not oily

Cons:

Doesn't help much with acne.

This is a nice soap to use if you have a good acne treatment. Like something internally to get rid of acne. Or if you have less severe acne you can use this with a topical acne lotion. This bar of soap is pretty cheap and good to use on your whole body to keep it nice, clear and soft.

Pros:

Clears up pimples. Gentle. Affordable. Easy. Clears up pimples...

Cons:

Not one. Come on people! Any soap in your eyes is going to sting!

I LOVE BASIS. After year ten years of having several zits all the time and trying everything under the sun including Proactive, to no avail, I finally gave Basis a try at a friend's recommendation and only after giving up hope. It changed my life! If I use it twice a day, my skin stays clear. In rare times that I do get a zit or two, consistency with Basis and dabbing on a little tea trea oil clears it right up.

Pros:

lathers well, washes away completely, leaves you feeling clean.

I have allergies and many things irritate my skin; To the point of psoriasis, yes, I have very sensitive skin. I've tried many soaps and after using one bar I'm hooked.
