Pros:

keeps face matte
can keep acne at bay
cheap

Cons:

stings on open blemishes of course
salty face

definitely use it as a toner after washing face. Get a small container to keep your solution in. Sea salt + Apple Cider Vinegar + Clean drinking Water OR green tea. They are all amazing for your skin so why not combine them all? Depending on how sensitive your skin is, you're gonna want to have a either not so strong solution or moderate. I have extremely oily skin like eeeeeeexxxxtreeemmeee its insane and nothing would work for me until this. It definitely keeps my face matted for a good amount of hours. I also use a gel moisturizer since i know gel anything is better for oily skin. Im just glad i came across this solution cus nothing would control my excessive oily skin until this! I really hope this works for everyone cus i know how much of a pain and embarrassment it is to have a super oily face. And give it sometime for it to work. I can't say it will get rid of your blemishes cus i use the Acne.org products to cleanse my face but i do know it does help keep my face matted

Pros:

Helps for acne inflammation
Disinfectant
Cheap
Natural
Great cleanser for people with very sensitive skin.

Cons:

Non really, except it can dry out your skin a bit, so put on a good oil-free moisturiser afterwards.

I live in a small coastal town, with 5 beaches in it, so obviously i go swimming in the sea often. Last year during summer (our Australian summer) i realized my skin was looking quite better. Then when we started heading into winter it got a bit worse again. The only thing that had changed was I had stopped going to the beach. So I decided to buy some salt! About 2-3 times a week I will put about a teaspoon of salt into 100mls of warm water. Taking a make up remover pad I'll soak it in the salt water, and gently go over my face for about a minute. I'll leave it on for about 5 minutes, rinse of with cool water, and then moisturise. Seeing as it is so cheap and natural I think it's definitely something worth trying!

Pros:

Helps dry up acne and excess oil, makes skin soft

Cons:

Stings a little bit but nothing bad

I read other reviews on here about sea salt so I decided to try it. My fifteen year old daughter has been having some breakouts. We tried this on her face and it really helped to dry up her acne. We mixed up some Sealyham with warm water and applied it to her face like a toner. We left it on the first night for 10 min. We have applied it every night for about a week and have gradually increased the time we leave it on. Shen left it on last night for about 45 min. It has really helped with her acne. Her skin looks much better. Just make sure to use sea salt not table salt

Pros:

Helps relieve oily skin, makes skin feel soft (exfoliant). helps heal existing breakouts, and minimizes new breakouts. CHEAP!

Cons:

i guess it can get tedious to mix your on solution

I would mix warm water and sea salt and rinse face 20 times. gave my face a nice feeling and controlled oil production without overdrying. nice feeling when i wake up...not the usual oil slick. Try it. 2 times a day. if you wear makeup like me, make sure you take makeup of first. I've heard that epsom salt is better...

Its helping!
I am almost 16, have naturally oily skin and had problems with acne since the 7th grade. Days ago I started to use this home rhemedy of sea salt and water, putting it in a spray bottle and spraying my face, leaving it on overnight. It seems to be helping already, aside from the Clean & Clean blackhead eraser scrub... I was wondering though if I should continue on using the facewash or should stick to sea salt water.. It wasn't cheap though and I'm expected to use it.. But I was just wondering.. Any suggestions?

Maybe you could try the sea salt for a week or two, and then switch to the facewash for a while. I did almost the same thing as you. I bought a facewash and then I stopped using it and switched to home remedies. I am about the same age as you and my mom told me the same thing

True miricale
So I've heard a lot of people say that if you have dry skin it isn't a good idea to use sea salt water . However if you make a paste with salt and a spoon full of water and just apply it on the pimples / affected areas then it won't harm the rest of the skin . I had a blind pimple coming up under my nose an had ran out of tea tree oil so I applied a salt water paste onto it and it went , it's a miricale worker to be honest !

It's works amazing when you use it as a spray! You can use it whenever u want and even with you topical gels( that's how I use it) trust me try it it actually works just don't use to much and make sure to only spray it on ur face or it may cause dryness on your neck and moisturize ur face in the mornings before/after u use it

Made me break out in tiny littles bumps all over my forehead and nose. Going to the beach always clears me up 100% but I bought 100% natural dead sea salt and soaked my face it a mixture of warm water and sea salt for about 10 minutes, for some reason it got rid of all the acne I had but it gave me tiny bumps all over my face but mainly on my forehead and nose.

Pros:

-reduced oilly looking skin and healed open pimples very quickly.
-cheap
-no overall redness of skin like that on BP
-less time consuming than the regimen.

it made sense to use this as everytime i went into teh sea on holiday my skin would get better and so would random cuts or anything. the salt is great at heaing and preventing acne.

Cons:

-none really
-unless you are really healthy and dont drink or smoke you will still get the odd spot here and there but nothing like i used to get.

i use in conjunction with oxy's seaweed facial cleanser and it has been rele effective. i still dont have amazing model-like skin but i blame that on my lifestyle of drinking and smoking too much. simply by some fine sea salt. use the sea salt and some water as a scrub every other day and put three heaped tbl spns in with a toner so it is like sea water. using cotton wool rele try and soak troublesome areas before bed. a good on the spot treatment is handy i use the max strength oxy stuff.

Pros:

Dries out acne, tingling sensation upon application, leaves overall complexion even and smooth

Cons:

Can be abrasive (do not scrub)

I went to Ross and wandered over to the cooking isle because they usually have dead sea salt. I did not find that, but I found a pinkish sea salt from Hawaii. It is absolutely amazing. It does what I'd imagine a regular sea salt does. My pimples result from fatty foods/excessive sugar, which I found out through trial and error. This does an excellent job of clearing my face after a sugar binge weekend. Beforehand, I wash with my St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser (wonderful, by the way) and then I grind the salt into my hand, wet it a tiny bit, then stipple all around my face. I leave it on for a goo 10 minutes before rinsing. Definitely use a nourishing moisturizer after using the salt because it can leave your face feeling tight. Good luck, darlings! :)
