Pros:

The three step proactiv system did not work for me. But the refining mask did an ok job.

Cons:

If you start proactiv be sure you stick with it, because otherwise you will break out real bad when you stop using it.

If you want an acne treatment that works try THREE DAY ACNE by Chris Gibson.

Pros:

It smoothed my skin very well. Making it feel refreshed.

Cons:

Not enough of the product

Great for suddent pimples to help reduce redness by morning. I reccomend using it right before you go to sleep. Didn't really clear up my acne fully though. Just sudden big pimples

Pros:

it helped to clear up blemishes and scars from old pimples

Cons:

it left my skin kinda dry

I keep using it because i see results, the first time i tried this product the mask was thick and easily covered my face. When i ordered the mask about 6 months after my first batch was done it was sticky and thinner. I noticed less results and was dissapointed...but its still working...slower

Pros:

It has worked well so far. It has made a big difference in blackheads and pimples both large and small/

Cons:

I have the 3 step system and refining mask. I really don't like using all the steps and the time it takes.

Really it's about consistancy...I did not order the refining mask to begin with, I just had the 3 step system. In the beginning my acne actually got a little worse but what I didn't realize was that it was actually breakouts caused my the blackheads that were being cleaned out basically. I ordered the refining mask and I saw immediate results. I have never had any real problems with acne until Football & Basketball season this year but if you stick with this program you will see results. I have had large pores and blackheads for quite and while and those are clearing up almost daily.

Pros:

It does work, feels ok on my skin, stays on during the night if i choose to wear it as a night mask, and it doesnt cost all that much

Cons:

It smells terrible, but thats expected. Its hard to get the smell off your wash towels, and out of the dryer itself.

IT WORKS, Ive used it for 3 years now along with the whole line of proactive products. USE IT AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SMELL!

Pros:

On day 2 of using proactive, including the refining mask. t1.5 years ago I started having the worst acne ever - at the age of 26. I tried everything to make it better. In two days I am shocked at how much better my skin is!

Cons:

None I can see. If people are bitching about the cost, imagine the savings you will gain by not wasting money on other products that do not work.

I held off for over a year to try Proactive - primarily because I always think that anything I see on an infomercial is a piece of crap. All I can say is that I wish I had tried this a long time ago - I had the most painful and terrible acne in the past year - and in two days, it's already 80% gone.

Pros:

Works okay, does not dry out skin!

Cons:

Smells bad

I find that it works on some pimples. And if you watch the infomercial don't believe it. It does not take care of your pimples in one night -- well at least not for me. But I don't feel like I'm using some heavy duty antibiotics on my face, so its good that way.

Pros:

soft and helps doesn't hurt...

Cons:

I am a Proactive user and I always wondered what about the system that keep me with it, and it is the refining mask. Everyone knows the refinning mask is what makes Proactive MUCH better.

Agreed with not much luck in the 3 step Proactive system. However I am going to stop using the 3 step and cancel my plan, and just stick to the refinning mask. I enjoy it and is one of the only proactive things I like so far. Get it but only by itself, try organic facial scrubs with it, organic is the best way to go. That and drinking a lot of water.

Pros:

Definately works

Cons:

If used too much it can dry your skin out a little so be sure to moisturize

I stopped using the Proactiv treatment, but kept using this mask. It's great and really does work overnight to reduce acne. It is 6% sulfur so leaving it on too long can irritate your skin. Don't put it where you don't have breakouts because it'll just dry your skin out. I usually just put it on my chin area. A little expensive, but worth it!!! Also, watchout, it may bleach your washcloth!

Refining mask
I have comb (dry/oily skin). I use the 3 step system every other day and then only use those for trouble spots. Putting it on as a mask dries my skin. Also, seeing from a few comments below...the 3 step system only helps for MILD acne. Does not help for severe.
