Pros:

makes your skin feel very clean.

Cons:

It's a sulfur mask so it smells like sulfur/eggs. The smell lingers on your face all day. I recommend using this mask ONLY at night and washing it off, then washing your face again in the morning to get rid of the smell, or else it will linger.

It works, as a mask. Not as a spot treatment and it smells really bad.

Pros:

- Worked for the first few months I started using it

Cons:

- after awhile it made my acne worse!

When I first started using this I would just dab it on the pimple... go to bed and wake up and it would be gone. HOWEVER after awhile I would put the mask on the pimple and I would wake up and the pimple would be formed O_O. I'm not sure if this happened for anyone else but based on this I would not use this for long term acne. It's great for spot treatment for people with LIGHT ACNE though.

Pros:

It's the only good Proactiv product! Your skin feels so nice after using it, and it really diminishes the size of cystic acne when used as a spot treatment

Cons:

Smelly...but it IS sulfur, and it's not that big of a deal!

The only item worth getting from the ProActiv line. It works really well. Make sure you only use a small amount when you use it as a mask- that's all you need, and it will last you a lot longer

Pros:

A good overnight spot treatment.

Cons:

It doesnt wash off that well. I like to be very gentle with my skin and it seems i have to really wash to get it off.

It's good to have, but I wouldnt recomend using it as a mask but its far to expensive and like I said, it can be somewhat rough on your skin. Its sulfur treatment, so if you know how your skin reacts to that you can base that way.

Pros:

It dries out pimples.

Cons:

It works, but still overpriced.

If they sold it at a more reasonable price and made it more readilly available...then I bet they would make more money. I don't know what their problem is.

Pros:

i left it on for the entire night [and not just 15 minutes] and this morning the size and redness went down.

Cons:

i used this product a lot a while back. if you overuse it your skin gets immune to it

yeah you should use it for spot treatment. and where i live you can just by the mask [without all the other stuff] at the mall, but it wasnt like that when i got it and thats why the price was expensive use it a couple of times a month.

Pros:

In the FAQ on the Australian site it says 18.When do i use the refining mask?
Always start with a clean face before applying the mask. Follow with the Toner and Lotion. The mask can be used with or without the Proactiv® Solution system.

Cons:

i've been using it after my 3 steps so it felt dry..now i know what order i'll try it again...

not sure coz i've been using it wrong..but my spot treatments have been OK, only thing is evryone who sees you when you wake up says What's that on your face?lol!

Pros:

Sometimes it does work.

Cons:

Smell
Doesnt work that well.

I've had this product for a long time and it smells horrible. When you wakeup and take it off you can still smell it. It doesn't do a thing for my pimples. It sometimes works but not often. It does NOTHING.

Pros:

does dry out pimples. pretty good for spot treatment

one thing i noticed after using proactiv for so many years which i am now thankfully off it! if i leave it on to long like accidently falling asleep with it on it seems to irritate my acne and cause white heads.

for me...its okay. i just cant leave it on to long or it does irritate my acne and cause some flare ups. as far as the proactiv system im so thankful i got off it. My skin was addicted to it for years and now i found kate somervilles 911 acne treatment kit and i absolutely love it. I dont recommend the proactiv but im sure using the mask as a spot treatment every now and then is fine. but as far as the whole system i highly reccomend you find something else. proactiv is TERRIBLE for your skin. causes premature aging and after using for some time your skin will become addicted and the withdrawls are bad break outs! i do not reccomend. but using the refining mask as spot treatment from time to time is fine. just dont leave it on to long! or at least i cant.

Pros:

it works well if used over time

Cons:

it smells like really bad oatmeal, the commercials are not true, i've used the refining mask overnight, and the pimples are NOT gone when i wake up, it barely does anything to them

i suggest using the regular proactiv treatments instead of the refining mask, because it takes to long, and hardly works fast.
