Pros:

No weight gain
Shorter/lighter periods
Improved acne
Greatly lessened cramping

Cons:

Expensive (my insurance sucks though)
Took about 3 months for my body to adjust to it
Light spotting

The first 2 1/2 months of use were very rough and painful (constant severe cramps and bleeding) but after I finally adjusted it has been great. My acne isn't gone but it is much better, I didn't gain weight like I have with other pills, periods are now only about 3 days long with occasional light spotting the week before (not a big deal to me) and most importantly to me, my cramps are almost completely gone, which is the reason why I am taking this in the first place. I also love that if I miss one, I can take two at a time without getting naseous like I have with other pills. I definitely think it is worth trying. If you don't like it at first, please keep in mind that it takes your body a few cycles to adjust to the medication properly.

Pros:

Little to no weight gain
Fewer breakouts
Bigger boobs

Cons:

Aches
Bigger appetite

The first week I was on it was kind of rough. I felt nauseous after taking the pill and was very irritable. Also, my appetite increased quite a bit. Now I've been on it for a month and those side effects have almost completely gone away. I do get aches though, which I didn't before. My skin has cleared up a little bit, and it keeps getting better! Worth a try. I've read a lot of good and bad reviews so I think it definitely has different effects on each individual.

Pros:

starting to clear acne
bigger boobs (pro or con, whatever way you wanna look at it lol)

Cons:

increase appetite at first

after i found out i have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom, my obgyn put me on Ocella BC (generic brand of yasmin) however, after a month of being on it, i broke out in the WORST cycstic acne like i never had before. it got soo bad, my face started to swell and it hurt to even lay on a pillow. i called my obgyn and she switched me to Yaz. not only did my face get better, but i just felt much better on this pill.i felt really depresed and panicky on the other BC but now i fel normal again on Yaz. all the acne on my back and chest has completely cleared and my face is 75% clearer. i've only been on it for 3 months so i'm going to wait til 6 months to see the full effect. i would only recommend this to someone who has hormonal acne

Pros:

bigger breasts, happier mood, acne went away, shorter and ligher periods, cramps went away

Cons:

nausea when first taken, mood swings for the first month, and attempting to remember to take it, weight gain, price

if you can deal with remembering to take a pill at the same time each day, and don't mind being a little curvier, it's great. my acne went away, my cramps went away, I got bigger breasts, and was all around happier. you just have to take it with food, or else you'll get a killer stomachache. and you might be a little more emotional than usual for the first few months. it's a little pricey, but worth it

Pros:

It's the only thing that has ever worked for my skin.

Cons:

Haven't come across any bad side effects yet, but anyone who takes this medicine should be aware of them.

I'm 40 and have had acne since I was in junior high -- not horrible but periodic cysts and nodules, a few each month. I've tried everything under the sun except Accutane. While I have taken them in the past (Ortho TriCyclen) I have avoided birth control pills due to the lack of sex drive. However, I went on Yaz to prepare for Accutane. It worked so good the first month that I didn't feel the need to even start Accutane. My skin has always been extremely oily but it is less so now (it is still oily but really more dewy than anything). My skin looks so healthy and my back also doesn't break out as much. I only rated this 4 because I haven't seen it work long term yet on me. I would like to see more people rate this product who have used it for longer than me to see how their success rates.

Pros:

cleared skin for awhile then stopped working.

Cons:

Where do i begin? I was actually diagnosed with panic disorder and severe depression after taking this pill. I also have blood pressure problems. Weird they all started after i took this pill.

I was on it a year and a half. First 6 months were fine then i turned almost suicidal. I had around 6 panic attacks a day and did not know what was wrong with me. Found out YAZ does this to a lot of woman. I know this pill reacts different with everyone, but if you start becoming depressed or have unusual anxiety, you really need to look at this pill. Doctors really should let patients know about possible side effects like this. I am now off and symptom free but also trying to get off my anti depressants :(

Pros:

No pregnancies. Lightened/Shortened period. Dropped about ten lbs. Seems to finally be clearing my skin.

Cons:

Took a long time to see results.Nausea at night sometimes. Fatigue in the beginning.Initial breakout at the beginning of a pack. Breast tenderness sometimes. Make my appetite very yo-yo-ish, some days i'll eat everything some days i cant eat anything

I am on my 7th month of Yaz. I always broke out hormonally so I hoped it would clear my skin. It never really made it any worse but it didn't stop the breakouts but they would only happen at certain times during my cycle and this past month I only got one new pimple so it might be finally working. I love that it helped me lose a little weight and it shortened my period. I am still very inconsistent though, my skin, appetite and period are always a little different, you'd think after 7 months it would have leveled out but I can live with it. Overall, I really like it and think that 1 or 2 months of usage of BCP shouldn't even be reviewed, you have to allow it time for your body to adjust. If i would have given up after month 1 or 2 when i was still breaking out I wouldn't be as clear as i am now. Be patient, you might pass up something that works. Its expensive but I pick up a free box at my gyno every month so It's reasonable right now.

Pros:

My acne disappeared completely!

Cons:

weight gain

When I started using it I had acne on the forehead, cheeks and horrible marks all over my face. I stopped using it because my husband was not going to be near for a long time... but know I have really bad acne again! Sooo I'm going to use it just to keep it under control. =)

Pros:

Birth control, easy to use

Cons:

i have been feeling tired recently and have been experiencing random nausea. I have been experiencing bad anxiety and fatigue...

I didn't think it had anything to do with the pill until i started reading online reviews. However, I have been taking yaz for well over a year and havent started experiencing these effects until recently. Most of the reviews (especially ont his site) have been from women who have only been taking yaz for 3 months or less. That is definitely not enough to tell if a pill is right or wrong for you, unless you are experiencing horrible side effects. However, you should give the pill up to 6 months to form a routine and regulate. Your body needs time to get used to it! Thigns liek weight gain, fatigue, or nausea in the first few months...are completely normal. Give it time! You might find it works for you! Anything new put into your body will need adjusting to. Your body is delicate and only knows its normal routine! i have no acne by the way! however the lowest form of acne i can put ont his review is "very light."

Pros:

lighter periods, no bloating, little cramping and no pms-the first period i had after starting yaz, i didn't get any of my noraml symptoms of cramping, bloating or irritablity. has helped my skin too

Cons:

i spotted for a the entire first month, i had an inital horomone breakout

If you can survive a month of spotting and an initial breakout, it's totally worth it.
