Pros:

regular periods

Cons:

None

It never really helped or hurt my acne. My acne stayed the same while I was on it. I would recommend it as a birth control pill but not as an acne treatment. It might work for others though.

Pros:

Increased a bra size
Had lighter periods
Acne cleared
I didn't get pregnant (but I always use condoms too)

Cons:

Caused emotional changes such as: Increase in 'neediness' and decrease in competitive nature and sex drive.

First I have to describe the type of person I am (I've stopped taking it) and was before Yaz. I'm a tomboy, a very competitive distance runner, and a competitive student. At first (first 3 months), I liked Yaz. I was beginning to see a change in my very heavy period, my acne cleared, and hey, a extra bra size to boost the confidence--always a plus (ok well for those of the light-chested variety). I rarely noticed any emotional changes initially. I was home. Life was good. I had a new doting bf who I texted and talked to ALL THE TIME. And I never took notice of how much we talked. What I did start to notice was how I didn't have the urge to go for a 5 mile run in the morning like I used to nor did I care what grade I made in college as intently as I had before. That semester went relatively well. Sure, I got Bs instead of As and I dropped from running 7 + miles to 6, to 5, 4, and so on..but everything was still ok, I kept taking Yaz during the summer...Then I went to Ireland for study abroad...two of my four months from being away from my family and bf was HELL. I was depressed--didn't want to do ANYTHING (much less run or schoolwork), I was an emotional- homesick wreck. I've always (without YAZ) been a VERY independent person and girlfriend--ALWAYS wanted to travel the world and get out of my town and now that I'm off this poison, I still do! Last 2 months have been great. Ireland is AMAZING and I'm still talking to the bf and family, but not 24/7--it's made both our lives easier. I'm running again (back at 3 miles) and doing better in school. I mean I don't blame my WHOLE emotional struggles on Yaz--sure I was bound to feel homesick but I swear being on this drug made me not be able to let things go and that's who I AM...I currently looking for another birth control pill and hoping for better results.

Pros:

shorter periods, no weight gain (so far), no moodiness or anything out of norm for me.

Cons:

nothing yet!

I've only been using it for about a week now, but I know it's not supposed to do anything for acne until about 3 months in. However, I haven't had any issues with it to begin with, so I think that's a good sign, and I'll report back in a few months! Oh and I got it free because my ob gyn gave me 3 months worth free! :)

Pros:

Larger breasts. Effective in preventing pregnancy.

Cons:

I never had acne and now my skin is breaking out. My face always feels hot and itchy. Im a very cheerful person but now feel a bit depressed. Even if my breasts augmented in size they hurt all the time.

Yaz is about the 5th brand I try. All have given me very unpleasant side effects from nausea to spotting, to feeling completely emotionally unbalanced and unhapp, to acne breakouts and chest pains...Im getting discouraged.

Pros:

I'm not pregnant. My boobs gained a whole cup size.

Cons:

Haven't noticed any difference. not even a slight difference. I'm emotional and even more depressed than I was. I'm dry down there.

My face is finally clearing up. Finally. but honestly it's probably not the Yaz. I've been on Yaz for two months now and nothing, but as soon as I went on Doxycycline two weeks ago my face cleared up instantly. I'll keep taking this Yaz since i paid for it. I'll give it another month.

Pros:

*FOR ME*...NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS WHEN IT COMES TO ACNE! except it prevents pregnancy.

Cons:

made me break out worse than ever before in my life. I gained about 10 pounds in water weight the first 2 weeks. I was really emotional and moody and the weight and brake outs didnt help that AT ALL.

I will never take yaz ever again. Personally my body reacted very negatively to it. it definitely messed with my hormone levels and broke out in my hormonal section of my face worse than ever before. I gained about 10 pounds in water weight the first 2 weeks. I was moody and depressed and ive been off it for a little while now and am still in the process of healing my skin. and still getting brake outs but nothing like when i was taking it. I am now on cephalexin(antibiotic) and going to start spiro in the next couple days b/c im still getting hormonal brake outs and spiro should regulate and balance out my hormones so im counting on this one! I am also going to a tanning salon which is helping dry them out and getting regular facials and peels but this pill definitely sparked something and i had a reaction and its a battle trying to get my skin back to normal. if you have regular hormonal break outs like me yaz could make it worse. but everyones body reacts differently.

Pros:

none

Cons:

It did nothing except make me miserable, I seriously had to stop after about 2 weeks. I could start crying at any given time, it's just not worth being depressed and having bad skin.

It's unfortunate that pimples and acne can really put a damper on one's life. I've only had this problem for the last couple of years, from having completely perfect skin. I feel for everyone who's going through it and I wish there was a perfect solution. Bottom line, it may not work for me, but it might work for someone else. All you can do is try.
