Pros:

Shorter, lighter periods, No Nausea, Larger Breast

Cons:

Broke out on my faces, places where I usually did not break out. Very emotional especially the first month. The worst cramps in my life, felt faint at times, some headaches, too expensive

Its really not worth the money, unless it does clear the acne and does the things it says it will in the commercial. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Pros:

Contraceptive

Cons:

Mood swings, Weight gain, fluid retention, break through bleeding, low sex drive, headache.

Yaz changed my life in a bad way. I have become depressed and low in energy. I have been abnormally bleeding and have frequent headaches. The only good thing that has come out of Yaz is that it cleared up my mild acne.

Pros:

- cleared up acne (thought not as well as an antibiotic like Doxycycline). I still get occasional pimples, but my skin is generally clear

Cons:

- Immediate weight gain (literally gained a cup size in a week) Impossible to lose weight; always hungry
-SUN SENSITIVITY! So so bad for a lifeguard
- EXTREME nausea when not taken with food for the first month or so (would throw up within 10 m

In the end I didn't think it was worth it. I accepted the weight gain and even the occasional nausea (which has thankfully gone away with time), but the fact that it makes me burn is NOT ok. I've been on it for 4 months, and it did its job in terms of acne control.. but other than that it's not so great. The weirdest thing is it gave me BO that I never had before. I get a strange smell between my breasts that never existed (have to be so careful with deodorant, and I'm not generally a smelly person) If you want birth control & acne control, this is a great pill. If you're worried about your weight, this is NOT. It's expensive generally, but my healthcare (MassHealth) covers it 100%, so it is free for me

Pros:

Weight Loss, Birth Control, eventually cleared up my face

Cons:

loss of ability to become physically aroused, not a loss of libido, just dryness. increased blood pressure.

When in high school, I had maybe the occasional breakout. not completely clear, but never the problems other girls suffered from. My skin type was oily. After my first month on Yaz, my complexion became terrible. terrible cystic acne, very little blackheads/whiteheads, but again TERRIBLE cystic acne which left ugly scars. I noticed, however, that it was not because my skin was oily, in fact, it was dry and flaky. went to the derm, prescribed differin. cleared up immediatly. now I never have a single breakout. ever. don't even have to wash my face if I don't want to. I also lost a lot of weight. I was 5'3 and 125 lbs. could never drop below 120 since puberty. on Yaz, I dropped to between 110-115 and grew an inch. Love the pill, but would have extreme irritation and even bleeding after sex due to dryness. Apparently the estrogen in Yaz is a diuretic. I went on the pill for contraception, and asked my gyno to switch me. I am starting Mircette. hope to get my sex life back.

Pros:

better control of acne problem, cleaner (less oily) hair

Cons:

very emotional sometimes, possible weight gain (should I blame the pill or myself?), low energy.

Have been on yaz for over a year now. My skin improved considerably for a while but now seems to be breaking out more like it used to. Not sure this is a long term solution to acne problems.

Pros:

Great for my skin, never got a pimple while on it. Made my boobs a cup size bigger, and I never really got bloated

Cons:

Thought I was loosing my mind. I was crying ALL THE TIME! I wasn't like that before I got on the pill. I thought that there was no way my life could get better. SO SAD! Really tired, I wanted to sleep all the time. Expensive.

I stopped taking it after 3 relationships failed in 5 months because of my crazy mood swings. I also couldn't afford the fifty bucks a month. I was so tired of crying everyday and not even knowing why.

Pros:

Shorter, lighter periods, no PMS symptoms. Reliable contraceptive.

Cons:

Horrible mood swings, depression, crying for no reason, irrationally angry. People said it changed my personality. The worst thing: It caused the worst acne I've ever had in my life- now I have painful, cystic acne that I never used to have.

It really depends on your body chemistry. Yaz works great for some people, but it did not work for me. Be ware of it, because it can cause your acne to worsen. I went off of it the other day and I am now desperately trying to treat the horrible acne that it caused.

Pros:

Cleared my skin and regulated my flow.

Cons:

I did gain weight, I'd say about 7 pound and I noticed even though others didn't. I sometimes felt really bloated. My breasts got bigger and I went from a C cup to a DD... and I don't like that my boobs are big to begin with. Major back pains!!

I really needed BC because my period never came... I would go 6 months without a period and that's not normal! This "not getting my flow" thing screwed with my skin to NO END. My face looked horrible, I started using YAZ in November, and My face was clear by the end of December I'd say... That made me really happy! My periods were painfull however, and still pretty long. I stopped YAZ after 6 months in April, and my flow stayed the same till July when I missed it again, and now it's the end of August and my skin is terrible again!! I should have stayed on YAZ, but the weight gain was also bugging me... I'm going to try Yasmin next month hopefully if I even get my period!!

Pros:

keeps you from getting knocked up

Cons:

bad bad acne

MY skin was breaking out a little bit which was why I decided to go on YAZ. The first 2 motnhs have been pretty rough, several small pimples all over and a few really big deep ones that I never ever had before. Also a lot of white heads. I am going to give it 3-4 months and then i'm going to switch back to ortho.
