Pros:

Less oily skin, bigger breasts (though sore the entire month -- I don't mind though)

Cons:

Hardcore breakouts before my period, SPOTTING

This pill was the best of both worlds. For most of the month my skin wasn't very oily and I had little to no acne. However, before my period I would be noticeably oilier and I would break out A LOT, like about 8-10 pimples at a time. Not to mention the time it would take after my period for the pimples to heal... ALSO, I recently stopped using this for a month because I noticed over the past two months or so I was spotting all the time (I had to wear panty liners every day), and I just noticed that the hair on my face was much more intense. I have blonde hair so it's not too terrible but I've become very self conscious of it. I don't remember it being a big deal before. All of this considered, I plan on starting up on Yaz again after my next period. Luckily, my boyfriend said he'd split the price with me this time around so why not :). Birth control sure does spoil you when it comes to condoms -- we are safe though!

Pros:

Birth control
Prevents ovarian cysts

Cons:

Cystic acne
Increased hair on upper lip, chin and eyebrows
Leg Cramps

I am 32 years old and was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst which required surgery. In order to prevent another one, my OB/GYN advised me to start a birth control. I chose Yaz because of its reputation for skin clearing effects and mood control. My skin was always fairly clear with a break out around my period, but now I have cystic acne on my neck, jawline, chest and back. I saw a dermatologist this morning who recommended a prescription acne treatment. I started the Yaz 3 weeks ago and I noticed symtpoms within about 9 days. It's probably rare, but I am thinking about switching to Loestrin. It has a different hormone, which I hope will help my skin go back to its original clear form.

Pros:

FAB! Yaz cleared my skin COMPLETELY, even acne on my back that was very cystic and hard to get rid of! At first, I used it in combo with Spironolactone, but was able to stop the Spiro and only use Yaz b/c Yaz was so effective for acne!!

Cons:

Expensive ($50 copay w/my insurance), Breakthrough bleeding even after 6 months of being on it. Maybe more prone to crying?

Pros outweighed the cons. I want to go back on it! I'm currently on TriNessa and it's horrible!! It is giving me the worst acne I've had in my life and I've been on it for 6 months (switched to TriNessa b/c Yaz was expensive), so I think I've given it a fair shot at improving my acne and it seems like it isn't going to do the job!!! I know BC pills affect every woman differently, but I think Yaz is a great pill and I want to go back on it! Wish my copay was cheaper, but it's worth it. It's also worth the breakthrough bleeding--sometimes taking it at same time every day helps prevent the bleeding, so we'll see. Good luck, all!

Pros:

It seems to have really helped my skin as I have had moderate-severe acne for the last 3 years!! Shorter periods!!

Cons:

My cramps seemed worse on my first period on the pill, even though I took the amount of Motrin my doctor told me too..

For me it has been working already very well for the skin!

Pros:

Yaz has almost completely cleared my skin. I have only been on it for three months so far, and I am seeing great improvements. (:

Cons:

Typical birth control side effects.

I would reccomend. (: Worked for me. YAY!

Pros:

Nothing so far

Cons:

worse skin, crazy mood swings, cry at the drop of a hat

I hardly had any pimples at all and swapped from Diane to Yaz just to make my skin slightly better. I have never been as moody and depressed before in my life. I've been on the pill for 2.5 months, everyone says to give it 3 months but honestly it's not worth the chronic mood swings and silliness. I'm going to the doctor asap to swap, this has done nothing for my skin. I intially had some many painful breakouts around the chin and jaw, they've gone now but now my face is just covered in non-inflamed acne bumps and NOTHING will make them go away! They just keep getting worse and worse and worse and it is making me so depressed. I HATE this pill, it's made the last two months of my life a living hell. I'm sure it works great for some, but honestly this was the worst decision I've made in a long time.
