YAZ : Oral Contraceptive

I have been taking Yaz on and off for around a year. There has been a total of 3 months that I have been off of this pill because it lowered my sex drive significantly and made it a little harder to gain muscle (plus it gave me a a little bit of cellulite even though I workout 3-4 days a week and eat a healthy diet). However Yaz has helped clear my skin and my skin is way less oily. I am 24 years old and didn't start getting oiler skin and acne until I was 20. Yaz has been the only thing that has made a change in my skin for the better. Not only has Yaz helped my skin, but it also has made me emotionally stable. I used to cry for no reason, get upset, snap at people, and was an emotional roller coaster. I take the pill continuously throughout the month, that helps regulate my hormones and makes it so I don't get my periods, it also has helped a lot with my energy levels and my relationship with my husband. The two times I tried to go off of Yaz my oily skin/acne returned, and I was once again an emotional mess. For me the pros outweigh the cons, I'd rather be a happy sane person than a miserable emotional wreck.

I'm 23 years old and I tried Yaz for only 3 months because it made my mood swings with my S.O. really bad! I would get angry about everything, snap and yell about stupid little things. So I had to stopped the pill, it didn't help my acne at all. I also was very paranoid with Yaz from all the bad reviews but I tried it with a positive out look. but left with Negative results. only reason I tried it was because it was cheaper then Diane 35.

I am really impressed with this BC, it really did clear my skin. When I first started taking it I was broken out on my back, chest, neck, jaw, and face! It cleared from the bottom up (back, chest, neck, jaw, then face last) with everything showing improvement the whole time, even if the area wasn't completely clear. I stopped taking it for a month and some of my cystic acne has returned, so I am back on it!

I loved this pill at first: it cleared up my acne, made my periods regular and short, and was overall good except some tenderness in my breasts. THEN... every period I would cry, break out horribly, yell at EVERYONE, and I gained 10lbs in 2 months (while actually eating LESS and working out MORE)... it got horrible. I've been off of it for a while now and my moods are so much better, but I still haven't lost the weight and my acne is back. Looking for something else to try... hopefully it will work a little better and not make me gain 10 more lbs!

Don't do it. Try a different pill. Yasmin and Yaz are horrible for me in the mood department, I'm going to try Marvelon next to see if it reduces my acne and allows me to be sane. This is not worth it!!!!

I had started taking this because of the mood swings I would get around my period and after a few months taking it my skin began to clear up. My skin was great, but my body did not like it. My heart began to beat really fast out of nowhere and I started getting migraines among a few other side effects. After getting a bunch of tests done and everything coming back fine, I though that maybe it was just the pill doing it, and it was. I now have found that I react bad to all oral contraceptives, so maybe it will help if your body does not have a problem with birth control pills.

I started taking Yaz not for my acne, which used to be very mild, just as a birth control pill. Now almost a year after I've stopped taking it, I'm on this website looking for a cure for my acne which has become unbearable. I had to stop taking the pills after four months because I felt like I was going insane ! I would cry all the time, I never felt like doing anything, and I stopped talking to many of my friends because I was just depressed. I finally realized it must be the pills that had caused this change in me. After I went off of them, I had a terrible cystic breakout on the sides of my cheeks where I had never gotten acne before. At the time I just believed my hormones were balancing out and it would all soon be over. The mood swings stopped and I was myself once again, which was wonderful. But now these pills seemed to have forever changed my skin. It is oilier and I get cysts every month. I wish I had read reviews about the pills before I went on them, it was so not worth it. Bottom line, I would not recommend them !

Yaz really worked for me! Hormones had a huge part to play in causing my acne (non inflammatory). Been suffering from it for the last 12 years - mainly concentrated on my chin area. I had tried so many different treatments before this, but nothing worked in the long term. Been on Yaz for 8 years - it has changed my life.

this pill is very helpful if you want to clear up skin, i've suffered from acne on my back for years now and after taking this pill it has finally begun to clear it up and its nice to have regular periods for a change! but i've had many bad side-effects to this pill as seen above! the nausea has cleared up after the first month! but the depression is consistent and i have really heavy periods with really bad pains now! and i've started to get thrush which never happened before this! i'm not saying this pill caused all of these but they have only started since i've been on it! i hope this information has been helpful....it does clear up skin for some people but may also cause uncomfortable side effects!

It works but it takes time.
