Pros:

It cleared up my skin and decreased the amount of oil in about a month of taking it. My periods aren't as heavy and are always on schedule.

Cons:

I workout 3-4 times a week and eat healthy but I have gained weight in my hips with 2 months of taking Diane. In addition, my breasts have grown considerably.

I'd rather have some acne than be 10lbs fatter and have over-sized breasts. So not worth it!

Pros:

Seemed to clear up my skin quickly.

Cons:

Depression...have not had that before, and in the past I had headaches.I have just restarted this pill this week, and already the symptoms have appeared.

I like that it cleared up my skin, but the depression is a very unpleasant side effect. Very annoyed that I have a 6 month supply that I can't use...what a waste of money. Does anyone know if I can stop taking the pill, even though I am only into my first week of it? I guess if there are any side effects, they can't be worse than depression!!

Pros:

Ive been using it for almost a week now and my skin looks SUPER clear.. well compared to usual- my skin is glowing so far.

Cons:

I FEEL DOWN. I have been feeling down and depressed for the past few days and I couldnt figure out what it was so i reseacrhed it on google and this page showed up - AND THANK GOD for this forum Im calling my doc tomorrow.

IM CALLING MY DOCTOR TOMMORROW AND DISCUSSING IT WITH HIM because the last few days since ive started this pill have been BAD mood swings and really depressed and down.

Pros:

I cleared up my skin, made my periods shorter, I actually lost a little weight.

Cons:

MOOD swings, headaches, restless.

Thi a pill that is great for the treatment of PCOS (polycystic ovaries). I was having alot of problems with hair growth in the wrong places and not getting a period at all. It has help regulate my hormones and relieved many of my irritating symptoms.

Pros:

Can skip periods, very effective

Cons:

HAIR LOSS, ACNE

I loved Diane when I fist started taking it. I didn't have the mood swings that I had had with every other bc....But after about 4 months of taking it, I developed cystic acne (i've never had acne in my life and i'm 23) and my hair started falling out. I am definitely switching soon. I also gained about 10 lbs. But I heard that is the norm with most birth control.

Pros:

Clearer skin

Cons:

loss of labido
made me emotional
hair loss on my head

I liked it at first, then my sex drive went way down and I started losing my hair! My skin looks great, but I feel like crap and am very emotional.

Pros:

Cleared my skin up completely, able to extend amount of time between periods

Cons:

Price is steep

I love Diane-35. I have been on probably 4-5 other types of birth control pills, but this is my favourite. It cleared my face up in around 2-3 months, although I started seeing results before that I believe. I had even been on Ortho Tri-cyclen which is supposed to be good for acne, but Diane-35 was 10x better. Because my periods are very heavy, I am able to take 3-4 packs of Diane-35 before I have to take a break and have my period. It didn't make my periods any lighter or shorter like most people say, but they are more bearable because I only have a period once every 2 or 3 months. I have only experienced spotting when I forget to take a pill, but it resolves itself within a few days. The only downside would be the price. I just stocked up today and 3 packs cost me $115 (cdn)! Thankfully I have a drug plan... I love Diane and if you're unsure, all I would say is try it. You really don't have anything to lose.

Pros:

Works well as a birth control pill.
Cleared up my face more than anything else I tried, although still got breakouts, just not as bad and not as often.

Cons:

Excessive weight gain... I lost 30 pounds before going on the Dianne 35 when I was 18, and after I got on it, I gained the 30 back, plus another 30. Even with plenty of exercise and healthy diet, it is very hard for me to lose the weight while on it

Worked okay for my face, didn't clear everything up, but it was not worth it for the weight gain. I didn't have to pay anything because I have a health plan that covered it, but if I did have to pay, $50 is not worth it, especially if you're just going to gain weight!

Pros:

Absolutely beautiful radiant clear skin for at least 6 years! Regular periods with NO PMSing!

Cons:

Intense headaches, mood swings, weight gain, chest pains, and visual problems.

This pill worked great. I started it when I was 17 and stopped when I was 23 because I could not handle the side effects anymore plus I though I was "over" my acne. This pill has 4 times the risk of getting a DVT (blood clot in the leg) verse any other BCP. It is idiosyncratic meaning it can happen to anyone (no links associated with girls who died from getting DVT's). It is not approved for use for more than 3 month. In fact, there has been a warning for this product since 2003 from Health Canada and it is NOT approved for use in the US. This all made me realize something must be up and that I was going to get off it. Anyways, this stuff works great but eventually I decided I was harming my body and stopped. Unfortunently, I broke out again. Not as bad as before but enough for me to start researching again about what to do. I am now trying spironolactone 50mg per day and will see how that goes. I have to admit, this pill was amazing b/c NOTHING made my face break out on

Pros:

-clear skin
-regular and painless periods

Cons:

I haven't found any 'cons' yet. It has made me considerably LESS moody because my homrones are more stable, i guess. I'm scarred for the future though after reading those reveiws about hairloss! arrrr

I love the way it worked for me, wonderful. I think that it is utimately more useful for those who know that their break outs ARE hormaonal. Anti-biotics were hopeless for my skin and my break-outs were monthly, whether i got a period or not! But it's all good now...
