Pros:

Great product.Sure it causes breast tenderness ALL BCP do. It made my skin clear flawless.NOt greasy. No more cysts Wonderful

Cons:

Not availbale in U.S.

I am 56 yrs old, thin dont smoke.I have had grade 4 cystic acne since I was 15 yrs old.At 16 i went on the pill,it worked for awhile. I was also taking tetracycline then and it null and voided the effects of the BCP. I got pregnant.I was married by that time but no one believed me that I was taking the BCP.We divorced. At 30 after years of treatment with antibiotic I built up resistances to most of them.I had so many I and D of cysts Ive lost count. So at 30 I wnt on Accutane. It almost killed me. I was one of the first to try it.I had a terrible allergic reaction to it but my Dermatologist kept me on it and started me on prednisone 50mg for 5 months. my second husband was such a dol,at night he would actuaaly carry me up the stairs because of the pain in my legs. at 51 yrs I stared on Diane 35.It has literally saved my life.I cant say enough good things about it.I wish it was legal in U.S.

Pros:

beautiful, spotless skin, great thick hair on the head

Cons:

tender breasts specially before period

I was using DIANE for 8 years, since 1999 to 2006 with one short break of 2-3 months, acne came back 2 months after I stopped. And it was severe. I started taking it again and it improved, then I stopped for more than year ago and for a whole year my skin was not bad at all until Desember last year, Then my skin worsened again. I think I will start taking it again. Pro-active helps a bit but not with the same effect as with DIANE 35.

Pros:

Cleared my skin, shorter periods, and reduced oily skin.

Cons:

stomache pain, dizzy spells when first starting up again, expensive w/out health plan, major breakouts when off pills

I was perscribed Diane 35 for acne on my face when I asked for birth control. I went on it in 2005 and stayed on it for a yr then went off, and my skin was worse after, like most ppl seem to find. It works very well when I'm on it for my back-acne especially. I also have really oily skin and it cleared that up. Then going off it this past summer I broke out worse than before on my back and face. I've read tons of info on the side effects and I'm thinking of permanently going off it.. I recommend it if you're aware of all the risks.

Pros:

clear skin, bigger breasts, less body hair

Cons:

weight gain

I've had problems with my face since 18 and i'm now 25. when I started using this pill 5 months ago my skin just really cleared up for the first time that I dont need to go to the dermatologist anymore so eventhough its more expensive, you save money coz you dont need to buy skin products that much and you save on doctor's fee. I've had so many people notice my skin and say how good it is. it's really amazing after trying all types of skin products and not working out.

Pros:

Brilliantly smooth and spotless skin, evidently less body hair, short and painless periods.

Cons:

I was on Diane for 5 years with only one 6month break inbetween. I did not get my period during the six month break and the skin was even spottier than before.

Even though they did do the trick, the pills were prescribed to me as a time-limited therapy for acne and not as a lifelong medication. after a five year long therapy i am back where i started, even though my skin was crystal clear during that period. So the bottom line is whether you are prepared to take it for the rest of your life, risking longterm side effects - many of them not yet proven by research. i stopped taking them for good and i am looking for alternatives to clear my skin without having to become addicted to a synthetic hormone.

Pros:

Not sure

Cons:

My face look like a battle field, weight is the same, tender breast, morning sickness, mood swings and stinky pee.

I was wondering about the stinky pee because I don't eat meat but, this only started when I started taking Diane 35. When my pack is up and I am waiting for my period to start no stinky pee so it has to be the pill. I can understand the loss of appetite and mood swings I have been reprimanded at my job for flipping out and my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy. So I believe I will be looking for something a lot more stable. Dam why do ya'll pay so much for these pills (GEE Willie)!

Pros:

Bad skin, lot of ance.

Cons:

Softer and smoother skin. Totally clear of acne.

I've taken Diane 35 for almost 2 years and it's working perfectly on me. I used in 1 year before then i stopped, the acne came back worse and my skin very oily. I went to doctor and he prescript me Diane 35 again. He said my body was working good on it for a year, so there would be no side-effect so far. Now it's working good on me. But my sex drive is lower a little bit. My vagina is not wet enough. I don't know if that's a side-effect. Otherwise, it's working fine for me.

Pros:

Perfect skin, I was on it for several years.

Cons:

slight weight gain due to increased appetite, mood swings, i was ultra emotional on it, headaches and decreased energy.

It gave me perfect skin...I have now been off it for 3 months and my acne has returned esp. on my back. it's annoying to have acne at 30. I am tempted to start taking it again, but I keep hearing about health issues with it and worry, so I'm on the hunt for something else that works as well, without the cons. I am recommending it only because it does works for acne like a charm.

Pros:

great for acne, great as a contraceptive

Cons:

depression, headaches, no sex drive at all

It is great for what you start taking it for but not worth it because of the side effects. It took me a while until I realized what caused my mood swings, depression (and I'm not saying they are all gone :) but do feel the difference now that I'm not on it anymore. Now I just have to find something else for my skin. It has never been this bad. If I could go back in time with this knowledge about this pill, would never ever start taking it. (I was on this pill for 9 years)

Pros:

decreased oil production (skin and hair)

Cons:

Very severe depression, increasingly worse over time. (Especially the months following the end of usage).

Not worth it; I would much rather have acne than experience the negative psychological effects of this drug. The long term effects also concern me. I have never felt the quite the same (psychologically) although I have stopped taking Diane since about a year ago now.
