Pros:

Nothing you can't get from a regular BCP (i.e. contraception, regular periods).

Cons:

Terrible cystic acne, just about every pore on my face turned into a black head, fatigue, no sex drive, depression, dizziness, weight gain, headaches, emotional instability and a general persistent desire for eating everything and committing suicide.

I didn't read any reviews or health warnings before I started taking this pill, but after a few months in it became evident something was seriously wrong. I lost will to get up. I barely even left the house anymore... I constantly felt sick, tired, depressed, and as woman I can easily say weight gain and TERRIBLE ACNE is not exactly an anti-depressant either. Each day I woke and looked in the mirror it was worse and worse to the point where I knew I had to stop this. Then on day I came online and discovered thousands of other women have had this same bad experience as me. At least now I can finally end this suffering and move on with a more healthy life now that I'm off it...

didnt help skin, felt bloated and major mood swings

i have been on Diane for almost a year now and ive seen no change in my skin.A couple of my friends also tried it and didnt notice anything at all.I think if you are about to try diane to serioudly reconsider...not only is it not approved in the U.S.A but it not the best pill out there..My friends have gone on tri cyclen lo and proactiv and their skin is amazing..i gave diane a good shot and didnt work im finishing this pack then im done with it!i seriously think you should reconsider and consider other alternatives.

Pros:

lighter flow, less pain

Cons:

Worse acne, stretchmarks, headaches, bigger boobs (in my case it's not needed)depression

I've been on Diane 35 for going on two months now and not much has changed for the better. I would swap period pains for even worse acne any day!! They reckon 3-4 months before seeing improvement but this is quite ridiculous!! Anyone else with me here?

Pros:

Clear skin, thinner body hair, effective birth control, fuller breasts (?)

Cons:

Fatigue, dampened libido, severe depression, poor blood circulation (heavy legs, swollen feet), head hair thinning/loss, expensive.

Listen up, ladies. I started taking Diane-35 when I was 19 years old, and I've been on it for 6 years. I noticed a real improvement in my skin only when I was 21, and to this day I can't say if it was Diane or just lifestyle/maturity changes. I have always been skinny, so I didn't quite gain weight, but I lost muscle density--I stayed slim but got soft/fatty and I now have a bit of cellulite that I don't think I'd have gotten if I hadn't gone on this pill. VERY LOW SEX DRIVE--which is tough because I had a really high one before I started. Having read more about the risks of Diane (I think blood clots might be a concern for me because of my "heavy legs"), I'd really like to get off. My concern, of course, is that I get pimples again when I've been mostly clear for 4 years. On the other hand, I had several episodes of severe depression that I believe impaired my quality of life.I've noticed over 6 years that bad side effects improve with increased health/activity...but then so does acne

Pros:

Clearer skin, lighter periods, less period pain, no PMS

Cons:

Slight weight gain, lowered libido

I don't really give a crap what I have to forgo for clear skin I do think Diane has effected my moods somewhat including libido- but I can guarantee my libido and moods would be MUCH worse if I had acne Diane has given me dependance and confidence I would not have otherwise said I have at least 7 friends also on Diane and we all swear by it wholeheartedly

Waiting for improvement
I'm on the 2nd month taking this pill and i'm going for the third, I sincerely don't see much difference. My skin of the face was clear before but then i had stress and my period was causing me acne and I am a hairy girl so i decided to take this pill. My hair and skin are less greasy but i still get hormonal acnee, i even have a cyst and nodules and bumps over my face and even behind my ears and on my shoulders and back and sometimes lower back that i never had before and believe me it is all so painful. I will give it a chance and i will keep taking this pill until the 6th month and if i don't see improvement i will have to stop taking this pill. Althought i noticed the hair of my legs grow slower after waxing than before but my skin has been causing me pain because of hormonal acne, it puts me down everytime i feel a bit of pain on my shoulder or back and notice it's a new cyst and the scars they leave is just horrible :(

Dry, flaky, itchy red skin!
I didn't have bad acne to begin with but as a 23 year old, I just got sick of still having pimples. My doctor prescribed me Diane 35 and from that moment is when life became hell, well for my skin anyway. The first three months broke me out so much - which seems to be the norm looking at other reviews. After the initial 3 months, my skin started clearing up however I was left with so many scars. Around the 5th month I stopped producing oil (I have oily sensitive skin normally) and my skin became so dry. 6th month and it was so irritated and flaky! I haven't gone off Diane 35 yet as I know that will break me out again. The struggles are real.

I would never recommend this.
I am 17 years old and have had medium to severe acne since I was 11. I have tried everything out there, prescription, non-prescription, high-risk, home remedies, laser treatment and nothing has worked. nothing. My doctor suggested I go on birth control (For migraines and terrible menstrual pains) but he said it would help with my acne too. This made my skin break out into terribly huge painful cystic pimples. Everywhere. On my shoulders, back, chest, and on places in my face that weren't affected by acne before. I tried the full three months I had been prescirbed for, hoping that it would get better but it didn't at all. My period cramps were so painful I couldn't walk. My face was so oily and painful I didn't want to leave my house from embarrasment. And I had extreme mood swings and depression during and since I have stopped Diane-35. My period cramps have only gotten worse since I have stopped, and my acne is just as bad or worse than while I was on Diane-35. This product messed with my hormones so much that nothing has worked to get it back to normal. I stopped talking it 5 months ago.

Too many risks

Pros:

none

Cons:

after 5 months still no improvement
too many risks (blood clotting)

I was on Diane for about 5 months. During that time I really didn't see any improvement in my skin. Not only that, but seeing reports and testimonies on the side effects and how dangerous they can be made me stop taking it. I don't want to risk it. Plus I have no health coverage so it was expensive as hell. I'm on a normal generic birth control now, Tricyclene Lo (if that's how you spell it) because I still need to be on the pill. It's not specifically for acne like Diane is but maybe in a couple months it will help to clear my skin up as I've heard most bc's do.
