Diane-35 : Oral Contraceptive

I've had acne since I was 12years old, and now that I am 23 I still am having major breakouts! Hate it! Then my OB gyne prescribed me diane 35 to treat my ovarian cyst, which also resolved my skin problems! 2months after using it, I saw a clearing of my acne and my skin is not oily anymore,amazing! After 6months of use I stopped already and immediately my skin was oily again, I started to have pimples again but not as bad as before. So now I want to have clear skin again which lead me to taking diane again!

I would love to stay on this pill for the skin and breast benefits but the pigmentation is relentless so I am now off the pill and have an IUD. Hopefully the pigmentation will fade over time.

I was on Diane35 for a good 7 years and my skin was model perfect. It was gorgeous! Then I lost my health insurance and figured since my face was so clear I could go on a different pill. I was off the Diane for only about 3 months and my face looked horrible!! So I went back on the Diane although it is super expensive, I'm on my 4th pack now and my face is still really bad :( I also started using Proactiv about 1 month ago and no change. I'm getting scared that it won't clear up again. It seems hopless. I really hope that the Diane will kick back in soon and clear up my face again. I had such good results with this pill a while ago, I really wish I didn't go off it.

This really worked on my skin. It good a good three months to kick in but my skin looks ten times better 9 months later....im kind of scared to switch to a lower dosage of birth control just because of the fact of my acne might come back and all that hard work would go to waste.

I was put on Diane 35 5 months ago as I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I haven't noticed any change in my periods, they're still same as before, however I have noticed a change in my moods. I get really bad anxiety, tight and panic like feelings in my chest and I keep bursting out in tears for no apparent reason. My skin wasn't really bad before but it is perfectly clear now, however I have now noticed celulite on my bum and thigs, I'm sure it's getting worse (but I have read that this can be a result of the PCOS). My breast have got larger but they are constantly tender which is not so great and I have lost my sex drive which is causing problems in my relationship so for that reason I'm considering changing this pill.

i used to have clear skin and then when i was 16 it just went haywire and i tried everything to try to clear it from products to minomycin to scar products to diets. Nothing worked and my acne continued to get worse, i had lots of redness all over my face and scars. The pimples also hurt a lot! I would wear lots of civerage everyday to try to hide my acne. one day my sister changed her pill to diane and decided it was not for her, so she offered me her unused 2 months. I am now on my second month and althought my skin is not clear it is much better. I no longer get the really painful pimples, my redness has decreased a lot as well as the red dots. It does get a lot worse before it gets better but i have some fairly large pimples at the moment, but im not too worried for with diane im sure these will not return. My breasts are also larger but often sore. Oh well worth the trade off! So anyone who has tried everything and gives up....i recommend giving this

i have been on this pill for 3.5 5years , i DO KNOW that it works for acne like a charm, you feel great, no weight gain, perfect skin - YES, ALL OF THAT IS TRUE,the horror starts when you go off the pill. trust me - it is not worth it. i have been off of the pill since 2004 - i am having side effects still. after you drop the pill- your acne will go 1000 times worse, like you have never seen it and it will not respond to anything other than you going on this pill again. i have spent years trying everything and anything and seeing all doctors only to hear- you took this pill - this is what you signed up for. and now its been 5 years. i am trying to stop this from happening to anyone else . you can contact me if you have qn's at any time - i am happy to help anyone who would need it, "svenssonkate@[link removed]". please do not end up in the same shoes as me.. this pill should be eliminated, it does not tell you what the effect will be....

I am a 21 yr old white female who had been taking Diane-35 for 4 years. Prior to going on this pill, I had MAJOR cystic acne, especially on my chest and back. About 6 months after taking the pill, my acne completely disappeared and has never returned. However, after 4 years of being on the drug, I began to experience break-through bleeding between periods. I have recently gotten off of the medication (about 3 months ago) in attempts to see if my acne returns. Sure enough, IT DID!! Besides the recent break-through bleeding, this drug has worked wonders for me and I am planning on getting back on this drug as my main method of contraception!! Diane-35 is definitely worth a try in my opinion!

The only reason i'm on diane is to regulate my periods, as i am on aldactone and that causes break through bleeding. My breasts are a bit sore, but as i think they have grown because of diane, im not complaining.

This product worked a miracle for me for approx. 14 years. But be ware of stopping the medication. I stopped it in December, and in about January, my acne returned with a vengeance, and I feel greasy all the time. I hope this is just temporary, because I can't handle this acne... I have also only had 1 period since stopping hte pill.
