Pros:

Improved acne (50%), regulated hormones, less cramping.

Cons:

Expensive!

This is the first birth control pill I have tried, and I am a virgin so I am using it only to control my acne. I am 21 and have had (apparently hormonal) acne since I was 12. I have been through two courses of Accutane, both of which cleared me while I was taking it but the acne always returned. Yasmin does not prevent my acne but regulates it. For two weeks I get almost no pimples and have beautiful skin. For the other two I break out like crazy (although my PMS breakouts aren't as severe as they used to be...Yasmin makes it so that I can pinpoint the days I will start and stop breaking out!) I used to have moderate acne every day of the month. It definitely helps, but I think I might add spironolactone to ease the PMS acne. At least I know for certain the cause is hormonal! Also, I am down to 93 lbs. While some OC's make you gain weight, I've lost about 10 lbs on yasmin. I've suffered no side effects, and aside from the price it's a great pill.

Pros:

my acne decreased in a month or so

Cons:

i have been moody for the past few weeks, but i don't know if it's because of yasmin

I only took this for my pimples, which have almost disappeared. Apparently it has something to do with hormones, so i don't break out or produce that bacteria anymore. However, I'm not sexually active so I don't know how well it works as a birth control.

Pros:

No cramps
Regular meanstrual cycle

Cons:

Made my acne worse
Bloating
Moodswings

I had used Yasmin 2 years ago. I asked my doctor to prescribe something that's going to prevent pregnancy and help my skin get clear. It gave me very painful cystic acne on my face and shoulders (which is a place I never had acne before) after two months of using it I stopped. My friend used it at the same time I did and she had the same problem. The cystic acne took a long time to heal as well...overall, I wasn't happy with it at all...

Pros:

been on it for a month and went from having painful nodular hormonal acne on the lower part of my face(about 20 pimples)and now have 3 tiny little zits that are ready to dissapear. red marks are slowly but surely fading = ] I've lost weight too!

Cons:

Nothing really. Clear skin is worth a few side effects. But so far I haven't experienced any. I've looked better than I have in a really long time

I haven't looked this good in a long time!I've been getting compliments constantly and I feel so much more confident.I want to add spiro with Yaz to raise my chances of keeping my face clear for long-term. I'm 18 but my face looks like how I did when I was 14. Amazinggg. I hope it stays this way. I've slimmed down and feel sooo good! Everyone has to find what works for them. Also, take an aspirin and put it under hot water, let it sit for a minute and then take it and spread it over your face-brings down inflammation and totally decreased the size of my pimples. My problem is totally hormonal so I'm taking action & I love it! I hope it continues to improve. I would totally recommend Yaz to anyone who is dealing with hormonal acne and Spiro to increase the results!

Pros:

Cleared up my skin 90%. Prevents pregnancy.

Cons:

Takes a few months to work

this DOES work. but you will only see results within 5-6 months. it's totally worth the wait. My acne is 'almost' non-existant. but i'm still on the search for something to get rid of the almost part. I mean my back still has acne. I would love a clear back. I bought Tanda Clear to help me but thats so expensive and time consuming. I dont know if it improves anything though. My back is better but i dont know if its the Tanda or just a clear period i get once in a while. If you have the money buy Tanda. worth the try.

Pros:

Within two months has cleared up my skin, but am seeking dermatological help as well.

Cons:

I think weight gain and I cry at the drop of a hat. Having some focusing issues. Don't know if this is Yasmine.

I'm going to use it for one more month until I see the Dermatologist again. My face is definetly clearer but my boyfriend and friends cannot take my mood swings...I'm tired of crying all the time! Will see if I continue or switch to something else.

Pros:

Weight loss (loss 20kg in 9 months), prescribed for PCOS and all symtoms went (facial hair/weight gain).

Cons:

Can't think of any.

Find the right birth control pill for you. Some will suit, some won't. But also give it time because all side effects usually settle down (like the break through bleeds you can get on the first couple of cycles).

Pros:

none... well besides i didnt get pregnant

Cons:

headaches, cranky, heavy period, even with insurance was still expensive

I am bipolar and this is the worst birth control for someone who has a mood disorder. First of all the first three days of taking it i had the worst headache of all time. And then when i was on the 'period' pills the headache came back even worse!!! I was so cranky, it interacted with my meds REAL BAD, it almost counter acted them. It was like I wasn't taking mood disorder meds at all the way i was acting and feeling towards people. This stuff is awful my skin stayed the same and i was just more of a bitch with terrible headaches

Pros:

I'm not pregnate!!

Cons:

I am an emotional mess!! Mood swings and I feel tired all of the time. My boobs are already a great size now they are HUGE!! (Viewer's like but I don't)

-I would recommend this only if you are already on an antidepressant medication and a diet. -I already had a high sex drive and now I am just walking hormones which my boyfriend loves even more. ****BOOBS, ACHNE FREE -VS- THE MONSTER INSIDE. (You decide!!!)
