Pros:

clear skin, no pregnancy

Cons:

depressed, moody, cutting, more migraines when advertised fewer, bigger boobs (bad for an already size D), weight gain.

I have never been depressed before and my friends thought i was strange for never crying. now i have panic attacks, started cutting, cry over everything, scream at my parents and get annoyed with my friends. Yasmin makes me want to stay inside all day. I have only been on it for 4 months so I am going to give it 2 more. It did clear up my acne well though.

Pros:

fixed hormonal comedonal acne, no unplanned preg, balanced hormones, WAY less cramps & much shorter easier periods, none of the bad side effects for me, also havent gained an oz but my appetite seems higher now-hopefully just adjusting.

Cons:

nausea a little in beginning- not too bad if take before bed, since i just restarted im easily upset, lethargy & sleepiness, think the cons are just bc its the beginning & im adjusting bc i was on it for 2+ yrs& it was perfect. oh & wo ins. its steep

was on Yasmin for around 2-3 yrs completely fixed hormonal acne & made my usually horrible periods MUCH shorter less bloating & much less cramping. stopped taking it 3 mos ago & acne much worse making me depressed, just started taking it again (2nd wk) when i realized i should have never stopped. when i was on it i had basically perfect skin so im hoping my hormones will even out & fix it again as it did when i was on it before. i wish i never stopped yasmin, now that i am back on i hope ill get back to my normal happy self. right now i feel a wreck but i think its just adjusting back. hopefully by the beginning of my 2nd pack ill be used to it again & acne free again! oh ortho tri LO a few yrs back made me VERY VERY depressed. i LOVE yasmin & hope to pick up where i left off! never had bad effects before & great skin, easy periods, great pill for me!

Pros:

Not pregnant, less acne

Cons:

Horrible stomach problems, low sex drive

I took Yasmin for two years and went off it after realizing that it was one of the factors in developing stomach problems. It's true what they say, take it the same time everyday. The last 6 months I was on it, I didn't have a routine schedule and taking it at different times and missing a day here or there, made regular sickness worse and I ended up going to emergency care a few times. My stomach problems have diminished since I went off it, but my acne has come back with a fiery rage! My acne was manageable when I was on it, I went to Lush and bought their fresh pharmacy facial cleanser, just used that everyday in the shower and my face was pristine! Now that I'm off Yasmin, I'm trying to figure out what to do, my facial regimen wasn't perfect before. Maybe the chemical that was in Yasmin that reduces acne is available in a pill? Also, my sex drive has increased ten fold which is ironic going OFF birth control!!!

Pros:

my face is finally Acne free !!

Cons:

ive turned psycho. I cried the other day in the shower because i ran out of shampoo, then i cried 3 days later when i got stuck at a red light. One day i love my boyfriend, the next i want to break up with him. ive started anti-depressants !

Im so torn on what to do. My face looks great but i cant handle depression and mood swings. I too was normally and happy person who frequented the gym and now im lucky if im out of bed to go to classes.

Pros:

Cleared my acne up, periods are regular, didn't gain any weight, made skin less oily

Cons:

NONE

This is the only thing that has EVER worked for me. I have spent thousands of dollars on skin care products, different meds but nothing has worked for me until I got Yasmin.

Pros:

lost 5lbs, never bloated!!!, not pregnant, get to skip periods, helps control oil and barely any outbreaks.

Cons:

taking a pill every day sucks

I love it! I'm using it with Sulfameth an antibiotic to treat acne and Nicomide (a vitamin used to treat acne) and a combination of all three medications is working wonderfully!

Pros:

No mood swings, sex drive intact, no sore boobs

Cons:

Acne

I've just finished the second week on Yasmin and I have 2 huge spots on my chin. Perhaps they would have formed even if I hadn't started taking Yasmin - how long does it take for skin problems to settle down once you start taking Yasmin??? Last pill I tried was Diane and that had terrible side effects - headaches, really sore boobs... and Yasmin is streets ahead - I feel great!

Yasmin is the worst thing to happen to me
Do not use this pill. I suffered from acne and my doctor put me on yasmin to help it as i thought it was good for resolving acne. i've been on it for 4 months and I have never been so miserable and depressed. My acne worsened and continues to worsen now, I've never experienced acne this bad it's ruining my entire life I have now been put on to roaccutane to sort it out once and for all. Yasmin has resulting in me crying all the time (once a day), eating ridiculous amounts and severe bloating. I am now looking to convert to a different pill, Yasmin has changed me so much for the worse and I've never regretted something so much in my life. Please think carefully before starting this pill.

my experience on ocella-generic version of yasmin

Pros:

less acne- but still gets some pimples
fuller, wavier hair
lighter periods

Cons:

doesn't fully get rid of acne, but does help
a little weight gain just a little though maybe 3 lbs
occasional moodiness

About three years ago I got the Mirena IUD put in and this was the worst thing to ever happen. Right after I started getting horrible break outs and I never broke out in the past. So finally three months ago I go it taken out. My gyno recommended that I get on the pill because it helps with acne. So I started taking ocella (generic version of yasmin) my skin has been a little rocky and is no where near perfect. I'm about to go into my fourth packet and I feel like my skin isnt the best it could be. I am going to wait and see but I am tired of feeling self conscious about my skin!

Pros:

Not pregnant
Clear-ish skin
Lack of hunger (see nausea)

Cons:

Nausea
Frequent pee-ing
Mood swings (uncontrollable anger, random bouts of sadness)
Low sex drive
Headaches
Anxiety

This is my second time back on Yasmin. I was previously on it for 6 months, but by the end of it I was an raving hysterical monster so my husband (who prescribed it to me) said "no more hormones" and that was that. I'm back on it again again, much to my husband's horror, after I developed nodular acne from Retin-A. It's only been a few weeks, but tbh I don't see how I can carry on taking Yasmin for much longer. I feel nauseated and low every day but just have to tough it out because my skin situation is unbearable. Yasmin has worked wonders for many other girls I know, but sadly, it's not for me (not long term anyway!). I paid £15 for a 3 month supply, no prescription fee.
