Pros:

Clear Skin!!

Cons:

None

OCELLA WARNING!!! I have been off BCP's for about a year. I am 33 and my skin has always been bad but not bad enough to go on Accutane (not to mention I woudn't ever considering the risks and my child bearing age). So I decided to go back on Yasmine. When I got to the pharmacy they wouldn't give me Yasmine - they gave me Ocella instead. I asked if there was a difference and they said no. One week later, a break out (major), hunger pains, and most of all major body aches. I am stopping the Ocella now and have demanded my doc to say NO substitutes for the Yasmine. Don't let them switch on you! There is no substitute for Yasmine!

Pros:

Increased libido

Cons:

Depressive moods

I have taken Yasmin for at least 3 or 4 years and since splitting up with my boyf, wanted to give my body a break and to see how it really is without the pill in my system so I came OFF it. I wish to god I hadnt!! My skin is SO awful, I feel like crying every single day. Ive avoided nights out because it makes me feel so insecure. I sit at work with people sat next to me, Im caked in make-up, and I can see them scanning my face. This in turn makes me feel anxious & upset, so this is probably adding to things. Im going straight back on Yasmin. Problem is, Im now really worried about what'll happen should I wish to become pregnant. I dont want to look or feel this bad!! Whilst on Yasmin, my skin was never perfectly clear, but it was much better.

Pros:

Slight increase in bust, Weight loss, Skin clearing up, NOT PREGNANT, Less PMS, Less Oily skin and hair

Cons:

Migraine before period, Maybe i'm just being vain but i feel like my facial features look different?

I've only been on yasmin for just over a month but it's been pretty good so far. First 10 days i got massive cyst pimples all over my cheeks, chin and a huge one on the corner of my mouth! After that it's been clearing up fast! I only got small ones that would go away in 2 days or so- i would normally get huge ones that wouldn't go away for weeks!! I don't suffer from PMS as hard as i would. I felt nausous after i take it everyday for about 2 and a bit weeks but that's going away. Tender breasts for the first 2 weeks but that was probably because they went slightly bigger. I'm experiencing weight loss which is so good even though im skinny already. I'm going to keep taking it for 2 more months and see how i go.

Pros:

none so far, but its early days

Cons:

increase in acne (!!), extreme tiredness, bigger breasts, increased appetite, some depression and general crazy weepiness

I have only been using Yasmin for 12 days and consider it way to early to make a judgement yet, but thought I'd post now to offer a suggestion to those suffering side effects. After literally being unable to get myself out of bed last weekend due to the fatigue this stuff brings on, as well as depression that saw me unable to do simple things, like iron my shirt for work the next day, or put on some washing, I have started having the pill during the evenings, rather than mornings over the past three days. I take it around 7pm and by the time I wake up and get on with my day 12 hours later, those side effects are completely gone. I feel like my old self again! I feel fine! When taking it during the mornings, I really noticed the side effects come on and stay put for about 12 hours. For those of you trying to see this blo*ody thing through to the 3rd month in the hope it may do something (anything!) to improve your skin, I STRONGLY recommend taking it at nights - best of l

Pros:

Drastically reduced oily skin, helped acne

Cons:

While it fixed my acne, it made everything else about my body worse! I had cramps in my legs, couldn't sleep, terrible nausea and migraine headaches, changed appetite, depressed numb feeling, heart palpitation, drowsy

I tried to stick out the bad side effects, because topicals and antibiotics haven't done enough for me, but in the end I just couldn't stand it anymore and went off it. It wasn't worth it. I'd recommend trying it though, because not everyone has side effects, you won't know until you try, and you can always go off it.

Pros:

slight weight loss (water weight), clear skin, protection against pregnancy

Cons:

mild headaches first month..thats it!

i was on otc LO for about 2 years and constantly felt bloated and had break through bleeding. I went off the pill for about 6 months and decided to try yasmin despite all of these negative comments. So far so good! I started my 2nd pack last night.**With any birth control, they have a tendency to depleat essential nutrients in the body, such as b6 and b12,thus the depletion of these nutrients can cause symptoms such as depression and mood swings. I take a b50 complex in the morning and my pill at night. Taking b vitamins is good for all women, especially those on the pill as it often lessens the side effects that it can cause. I didnt do that when i was on otc lo and had many side effects but am doing it now on Yasmin and i feel great! Also, its best to wait out any pill for 3 months before giving up on it. Here is a link about the vitamins to take while on the pill : [link removed]

Pros:

Lighter and regular periods,no pain during the period, birth control, less swelling, less greasy hair and face...

Cons:

non actally, just not enough effect on acne, so I had to treat them in an other way.

More pros than cons, so I can say they make great effect on my whole organism and I feel better,so I'm deffinitely not gonna stop using them until I decide to have I baby.

Pros:

Cons:

gave me horrible mood swings and my face broke out horribly in just a week after i started taking it

i switched to yaz from another birth control that i used to bring from south america(similar to diane35), but after just one week of taking it my face broke out completely and gave me cystic acne that i didn't had before. I thought it was an adjustment but after the second month of taking it i just quit because it wasn't just working not to mention the horrible mood swings
