Pros:

Prevents pregnancy, regulates your period, lighter flow, reduces menstrual pain.

Cons:

May cause nausea, migraines, insomnia, appetite changes, weight gain, increased acne, anxiety, depression, blood clots, etc.

Ladies please, do not take birth control unless you have too. It is definitely not the best way to clear up acne. I've been on the pill for a number of years because I have ovarian cysts, which cause me extreme pain when I menstruate. Even with being on birth control for this long, I still have the cysts. Though the pain has been reduced since I started taking them, the pill has also made a lot of things worse. You have to remember that birth control is forcing hormones into your body, and hormones are thought to be the biggest cause of acne. I eventually got fed up with trying to use drugs to solve my problems, so I went to see a homeopathic doctor. She has been helping me to drain my ovarian cysts, balance my hormones, and live a healthier life. I've lost weight and noticed a huge decrease of acne on my face. Try doing this, cut out all dairy from your diet for a couple weeks, and wear a sleeping mask at night. These will help balance out your hormones, decrease stress and acne.

Pros:

Short periods.

Cons:

Moodiness
Depression

It was all going well, and then I became so depressed, and then suicidal. I spent three nights in the hospital because it drove me to that. Now that I am off of it, I feel so strange. No odd out of the blue emotions. It drove me nuts, and I am only 17.

Pros:

Cleared my skin of inflamed acne, regulated my periods

Cons:

Had a bit of an initial breakout, i get nausea easily

Yasmin has done wonders for me. I have a hormone disorder and Yasmin has regulated all of my imbalanced hormone levels. I had a bit of an initial chin breakout, but since then my inflammatory acne has almost disappeared. I recommend Yasmin highly, but its always tricky with birth control because every woman's body seems to react differently.

Pros:

kept my acne away, didn't get pregnat, regulated period.

Cons:

cost

I've been on Yasmin for about two years now. My dermatologist recommended it too me because i had a severe acne problem. Nowadays though it seems like the acne is comming back, like my body got use to the pill, the same thing happened to me with Ortho- Tryciclin.

Pros:

Prevents Pregnancy

Cons:

Major Breakouts, Very Moody, Crampy heavier periods

Overall I hate it! I have always had perfect clear skin, I have been on it four months now and i have horrible acne...I also notice I am sensitive and moody over stupid things. My period is heavier and crampy, However it did regulate them and I always know when I will have them now....I am definetly switching pills.

Pros:

After a few months skin is clear, lighter period, stablizes period

Cons:

Very expensive.

I took Yasmin for 2 years and came off of it and immediately started getting pimples. Went back on and still have pimples but for the first 2 months it usually doesn't kick in. I definately have mood swings but I would not blame the pill.

Pros:

Prevents Pregnancy. It really clearned up my skin, and my periods are finally normal.

Cons:

Slight weight gain in the boob area, hopefully easy to loose the weight there

I definiely recommend this pill. My Dr. told me its the best one out their. I have not taken any other BCP & and i dont plan on it. You do tend to gain weight, which is a big issue for me, but with regular exercice and healthy eating you should have no problem. Its great for your skin.

Pros:

Not pregnant, clear skin

Cons:

Drastic mood swings, sore breasts, diminished sex drive

I switched to Yasmin after 3 years on Dianette which I went on to clear up acne. Yasmin has helped maintain my clear skin which is great but I'm not sure it's worth it because of the mood swings I get. I'll find myself bursting into tears or becoming extremely angry over nothing. I'm also very irritable - something my boyfriend would probably agree with and I have zero patience. Being this stressy is not good right in the middle of uni! Going to the doctor next week to request switching pills. Anything is better than this!
