Pros:

No spots and no babies!

Cons:

GP's don't like keeping you on it for too long

I have used dianette for nearly 10 years since being a teeneger, last year my doctor took me off it and put me onto microgynon. Spots have returned with avengance, I have PMT for 10 days as opposed to 3 days, I have no periods nowas opposed to a good 4 day one. I cry more whilst in the midst of pmt and I have lost a bra size.

Pros:

Cleared acne after 6mths

Cons:

Put on half stone
spotting mid cycle

I was on Dianette for 5 years and came off it. It had cleared my skin up totally for that 5 years and i felt with reaching 30yrs, I would no longer get acne. All red marks had even gone from my face.However,after 6mths, I started to break out again. I waited a further 12mths and finally I had to go back on Dianette again. I'm taking it for a week now and my boobs are really tender. But after the first time i have total faith in it to clear my skin.

Pros:

Clear skin within a couple of months after trying endless antibiotic tablets and lotions that don't work.

Cons:

The weight gain-going from 7.12lbs to 8.7lbs in two weeks feels awful,constant bloated lower stomach too. The catch 22 appears to be what aspect your self confidence can deal with best-ugly skin or the feeling of chubbiness! I still haven't decide...

I have just started my second round of dianette and it sucks. I was intially on it for 5 years and came off it 18months ago; it was bliss I lost half a stone-felt much more healthy and active within my body. Alas, the acne came back about 6 months ago and has got progressively worse. I begged my GP to go on roaccutane but as the dianette option works they refused. Does anyone else think this is unfair as male acne sufferes who dont respond to antibiotic treatments (and can't go on dianette obviously) are offered the roaccutane option whilst female sufferers are not offered this congruently with Dianette? After reading alot of these reviews I am struck by the amount of us who would be acne free as a result of roaccutant if we were male!

Pros:

good for skin and a good contraceptive

Cons:

severe mood swings which flutuates between feeling mere irritation, to being very depressed, tearful, negative, extremely agressive. loss of libido- almost non existent! feeling 'hazy'- as if I am not thinking straight. difficulty getting up

I've used Dianette continuously for about 4yrs, and before that for another two years. Initially it was prescribed for my bad skin, which cleared up within about 6 months. I just kept taking Dianenette- mainly because it has been so good for my skin, and I thought my body would get used to it. Had a break last year, and then this year the side effects have been dragging on for more than three months. I am defenitely going to change. I also googled Dianette- it's not supposed to be prescribed for more than FOUR months!!, and they did a study in 2006 on 100 women that claimed that they have been suffering from 'severe depression' since taking Dianette- I do feel that I have experienced higher levels of anxiety and depression after being back on Dianette. thus; not recommended. Apparently also really bad for your liver- I recently found this out, and have actually experienced mild liver cramps in the last couple of years..

Pros:

Well I have been taking it for a month, and I have literally no spots now :)

Cons:

I lost my mates coz they didnt like me taking them.

Use it ! If you are dont moan about it thats life. u cn NEVA hide the problem jus like drug.

Loss of libido

I have been taking Dianette for over a week now. I haven't given it enough time to see if my acne goes away, but let me tell you, I don't even feel like having sex with my new husband! Before taking this pill, I was the one pulling him into the bedroom and now it's the other way around. He's begging me to come off Dianette because it's truly affecting our sex life tremendously. It's a hard decision though because I really want my acne to go. I've tried Yasmin and it did nothing for my acne, but at least Yasmin didn't affect my sex life. Girls, this pill will ruin your sex life. Dianette would be great for nuns or virgins, but for girls who have had sex before or are having sex, you need to think twice about taking this pill. It's amazing because I've only been on it for a little over a week!

for all girls thinking of taking this pill dont do it i only took this pill for 3 days and had to stop because of bad side effects i have had bad sickness and severe migraines.

Pros:

periods managed, a lot lighter
skin cleared up briefly but then got worse
contraceptive

Cons:

I've been eating a lot more, and I've been incredibly swollen and bloated. the first 2 days of my period were also incredibly painful and my acne hasn't seen much improvement.

not bad, but I've only been on it a few days. recommended it for PCOS but not seen many improvements

it has reduced my acne slightly

Cons:

after 3 days of use , i have had pains in my stomach , and my joints are starting to hurt , and i eat quiet alort during the day.

i have just been giving dianette about 3 days ago , and since then i have had really bad pains in my stomach and i have been having join pain on my uper leg , and have been eating quite alot , i never used to snack ect before i got dianette but since my doctor suggested to me i have been eating more than ever , i have gained a slight bit of weight but im not to fused about that ,my face has cleared up slightly and look and fells much better than before , i would recommend this to people who have medium acne as it is working for me ,but i also use different products on my face the best way to clear acne is to wash face in the morning and take the dianette pill then at night , wash face again and apply sudocream on acne area and leave over night , and do this everyday , and after a few days you can see and fell change on your face
