Pros:

Mostly cleared up acne while taking it.

Cons:

Acne returned as soon as I came off it. I put a little bit of weight on. Low sex drive. Did nothing to improve excess hair on body - may have made it worse!

Good for a short term solution but now I'm off it and paying the concequences.

Pros:

lighter periods, know to the hour when they are due!, pimples cleared up great which was reason i went on it, good contraceptive cover.

Cons:

I have noticed a bit of cellulite on my thighs
(lisa uk you asked if anyone had this too!!yes!!) that i did not have before, tender boobs, bloating, sweating and hot flushes when due, pmt at times can be bad but was like that anyway really

This is great for the skin obviously get the odd spot but don't we all!! I have been on it for 3 years and am worried that its not good for long term use and i am now almost 36 so think i may give yasmin a try, however i am so scared i get the skin issues back again if i try yasmin, a few reports i have read seem positive about it so i think i may try and get back on dianette if its no good fingers crossed yasmin works! i guess everyone reacts differently to pills you have to just grit your teeth and give it a go hoping for the best!!!!!!!

Pros:

convenient if you want birth control at the same time!

Cons:

weight gain, usual issues with any contaceptive pill

Ive been on this a couple of times over the years and didnt like it. Whilst it did help with acne ( stopped huge cystic spots but wasnt a miracle ), I gained a huge amount of weight, depression, blinding migraines on the same day every month and complete loss of sex drive. But then again, Ive found this with most forms of Pill. Spots came back each time after stopping use so I didnt see the point in suffering!

Pros:

Spots are clearing up.

Cons:

Total loss of sex drive, thrush and sore breasts, they do not feel like like my breasts any more, unfortunately, I can't stand touching them or having them touched anymore.

I have always had really bad spots on my chin but they got 10 times worse and were starting to travel up my cheek when I went onto a pill called trinordiol. I went to the doc about my worsening skin and he changed me over to Dianette and got me an appointment for an ultrsound to test for polycystic ovary syndrome. I have just finished my first pack of pills and have not had a bleed yet. My sex drive is gone but yes my skin is clearing up already, i just have red marks now where the spots were. But i am vey depressed at the lack of my sex drive and worried about sore boobs not to mention the lack of a bleed yet and it is three days since I stopped my last pack which has me worried might be preggers.

Pros:

It works also as a form of contracteption.

Cons:

It didnt clear my skin.Mad be a bit crazy, emotional and depressed.

Didn't work for me.

Pros:

BIGGER BOOBS!

Cons:

DIDN'T HELP MY SKIN, MADE IT WORSE. LOSS OF SEX DRIVE. TEARFUL. PAINFUL PERIODS.

I have been on this pill for over 6 months and it hasn't done anything to help my skin, if anything it has made it worse! the only good thing about it is it made my boobs bigger and helped me put on weight as i was anorexic before. even though it hasn't helped my skin, i feel very dependant on it and am afraid to come off it.

Pros:

acne is healing, bigger boobs,very increased sex drive t hen I say that I mean only a kiss turns me on!!! no side effects no mood swings no angry, no increased appetite, just much happier in general ! x

Cons:

no cons so far.

Only a week on it my skin isnt clear yet but i have to say its improving so fingers crossed, hopefuly it will clear all up! Just cannot wait to walk proudly with no make-up on my face !

Pros:

regulated my periods, and increased my chest size.

Cons:

Every time i came off it for a period, it would actually make my acne worse. infact since being on dianette, my acne has not improved at all, and weight gain and depression have been a side effect.

have had to resort to roaccutane treatment, and have been seriously disappointed with the results on dianette.

Pros:

Clearere skin and increase in boob size!.

Cons:

please, please dont take dianette, dr's seem to be handing this out like sweets, i didnt even have bad skin and was given it for 6 years!, i have now come off it and the dr said last week that it was now not being used due to the risk of thrombosis!.

i have been on a range of herbal remedies for my skin for a week now and it has made a huge improvement already, you need to treat this naturally and dont mess with your hormones!

Pros:

Clear skin, regular periods, contraceptive, gave me my confidence back during uni and 20s.

Cons:

Acne returned with a vengeance when I came off after 8 years. Still no sex drive 2 years later. Had to take a course of roaccutane (privately) which improved acne to a manageable level. I now have an ectropian (related to the dianette).

Great while on it, be prepared to see a dermatologist when you are planning to come off it.
