Cons:

a lot you are taking a big health risk with this pill

I was given this pill to help my acne after having tried just about every cream going. Reading all the side affect it can cause and other peoples experiences with this I wasn't very sure whether I should start it or not. I have only just finished my first pack but my skin has already got worse!! Although yeah I did have a few spots on my face they have now got way bigger and there's lots more of them typical as its back to school for me n just a few days (I'm 16) the spots on my back and front have got worse and it makes me feel sick most days usually a few hours after I have taken it which is pretty weird. I haven't gained any weight though:) which I'm a bit worried about, wouldn't mind the bigger boobs as some of these reviews say as I'm still only an a! I understand it works for some people and not others I was really hoping I would be one of these people it does work for however I am going to stick with it until I finish the other two packs and see how it goes fingers

Pros:

I can't think of any except less painful periods.

Cons:

Seems to have done nothing at all. Skin is no less greasy and facial hair is worse if anything. No change in depression or mood swings and have been using product for 6 months.

Product did not work for me personally.

Pros:

Cleared up my skin amazingly!

Cons:

I haven't suffered with any of the common side effects yet although I have felt much more tired compared to before, however, I am unsure if this is an effect of Dianette.

Its totally brilliant, I would recommend Dianette to anyone who is needing a confidence boost because of their skin. It works wonders!

Pros:

cleared up skin beautifully. didnt gain any weight.

Cons:

none

i have been on this for 5 years coming off int he next couple of months. hopefully skin will be ok. i am going to take starflower oil (which will balance out my hormones) and vitamin b complex (which is good for skin, nails, hair etc. I also use quinoderm which i find very effective. I use clinique soap (for oily skin)< clinique toner and clinique moisturising gel (oil free) which i find very effective. a lot of people have said they have experienced hair loss and other such things from dianette but i havent experienced any negative side effects fromt his pill and would 100% recommend it. I had terrible acne before all over my face, neck, back, chest and shoulders from the age of 13 - 16 and then dianette cleared it up beautifully within two months.

Pros:

it cleared up my skin, regulated my period, reduced hair loss.

Cons:

made it harder to loose weight (or maybe thats due to the lack of excersise i do

iv been taking the pill for about 5 months now, its worked wonders on my skin as i used to have loads of spots and now i only get the odd 2 or 3 when its time to come off for my period. my hair also used to fall out a great deal (about 800-900 hairs a day) when it should be 50-150 hairs a day, and it also used to be thinning from the bottom so i couldnt have it any longer than a bob length, since taking dianette my skin has improved and so has the hair issue! with excessive hair growth around the body i wouldnt really know as i wasnt sure if i had 'excess' hair or just how much i always have!! recommend it GREATLY!!!

Pros:

none.. unless you consider bigger boobs a plus (but only a result of the 15-20 lbs you'll gain in weight!)

Cons:

weight gain... (scientifically proven btw because it causes insulin resistance, so your body doesn't metabolise carbohydrates and makes you crave sweet drinks/food. Read about it in medical journals!!!)

its a temporary fix that certainly isn't worth it; you might fix your skin but you'll end up self-conscious about your weight when you gain 15 lbs. Then, when you stop dianette your acne will come back worse than ever. If you don't stop taking dianette (as some women do for years and years) you run the risk of infertility, ectopic pregnancies, miscarridges etc as your body has stopped ovulating for so long. Stay away from this drug and other birth control pills. If you need birth control whilst on roaccutane, do your body a favour and just don't have sex for 6 months.

Pros:

Clears up hormonal acne, it made me LOSE weight!!

Cons:

It made me completely evil and nasty before my period. PMS like you never knew before!!

I used this pill back in 2002 (Mexico has had it available since several years ago at a steep price), and I lost weight, hair got great, my skin cleared up. I ended up getting off it after 1 year due to the PMS syndrome and being so irritable, I actually hated myself. I was off any pills for a some years, then I went into Yasmine but PEOPLE LOOK OUT!! YASMINE WILL INCREASE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR.. check with your doctor if you should take it or not. Women with PCOS must NOT take Yasmine. I did not know, my Obgyn did not tell me about this possible side effects, I took it for the past couple of years and now I am pre-diabetic. Now my endocrinologist asked me to go back on Diane + a Metformin therapy to counter the problem. You know, being moody beats being DIABETIC... I will learn to control my moods because diabetes is just not an option for me.

Pros:

Less greasy skin and lighter, controlled periods. Body hair (e.g. underarm hair) grows back more slowly whilst taking it which is nice. Haven't put on weight, have actually lost weight. I'm less moody than on the previous pill.

Cons:

I don't think it has stopped me getting spots; at times they have been worse than ever, and I have been on it for almost a year! I have no sex drive, sex now offends thanks to this pill.

I never had very bad spots in the first place but enough for me to want to change my pill from microgynon to this, as I felt the other pill was to blame for my bad skin. Both pills are good for controlling periods but neither have done much for my skin. After using dianette my skin is less greasy but I have at times had horrible spots. I believe stress is the cause of my spots. I advice people to drink red tea, white tea and green tea. After starting to drink red tea (along with white tea) I have gone a month with not a single bad spot, only the odd blocked pore. These teas are great! I'm going to have to come off Dianette soon. I hope I don't have the problems mentioned! I think I'll go for Yasmin for a few months and then be pill free as I may be better off this way! Apparently saw palmetto (a herb) may be good but DO NOT take it with Dianette.

Pros:

It worked wonders for my skin and hair- it's the only medication that has made a significant difference to how greasy my skin and hair is.

Cons:

I completely lost my sex drive and find sex incredibly painful.

What's the point in haing nice skin and looking pretty if you can't get any, lol? Great if you're not having sex, I guess? I hear a lot of comments about problems with the liver though. I wouldn't recommend it.
