Active Ingredient:
Minocycline hydrochloride.

Inactive Ingredients:
Lactose monohydrate NF, hypromellose type 2910 USP, magnesium stearate NF, colloidal silicon dioxide NF, and carnauba wax NF.

The 45 mg tablets also contain:
Lactose monohydrate NF, hypromellose type 2910 USP, titanium dioxide USP, triacetin USP, and iron oxide black JPE. The 65 mg tablets also contain Opadry II Blue which contains: hypromellose type 2910 USP, lactose monohydrate NF, FD&C Blue #1, polyethylene glycol 3350 NF, FD&C Blue #2, titanium dioxide USP, triacetin USP, and D&C Yellow #10.

90 mg tablets also contain:
Hypromellose type 2910 USP, lactose monohydrate NF, titanium dioxide USP, iron oxide yellow NF, polyethylene glycol 3350 NF, and triacetin USP.

115 mg tablets also contain:
Hypromellose type 2910 USP, lactose monohydrate NF, D&C Yellow #10, triacetin USP, FD&C Blue #1, titanium dioxide USP, and FD&C Blue #2.

135 mg tablets also contain:
Hypromellose type 2910 USP, lactose monohydrate NF, titanium dioxide USP, polyethylene glycol 3350 NF, iron oxide red NF, and triacetin USP.

Pros:

I didn't have the problems some mentioned, like photo sensitivity.

Cons:

Didn't work at all. Made acne worse than EVER.

Bottom line is I just don't think this product did anything to me at all. Not only did it not do anything bad, side effects wise, it didn't do anything good. If anything, my acne is worse than ever. This might be due to the drug, but it might be due to being taken off of my last routine (simple straight up clindamycine, worked fine). Either way, I can say I am angry as can be. I used it to get them off of a select area, but it didn't work at all, and I now have the worst acne ever. Company who made this and dermatalogist shouldn't have a job. As far as severity: It was light before. Now its moderate to severe. I am so upset.

Pros:

None. Horrible.

Cons:

Broke out in rash. Horrible headaches and neck pain. Drying.

This stuff was horrible!!!! I was prescribed Solodyn for adult acne. I was hesitant to take it in the first place because I tend to have reactions to antibiotics. About 12 days into it I broke out in a rash all over my chest and neck. Little red bumps, but they didn't itch. I quit taking it. The next day I had the worst headache of my life that lasted for two days. I also had horrible neck pain and weird chest tightening! Now that I have been off of it one week the rash came back and it itches like crazy!!!! It did not clear up my face either...it made it worse. I had deep painful acne that I had never had before along my chin. My face looks better since I quit taking it. I use clenia wash and emollient cream only. It works. Stay away from Solodyn!!!!!

Cons:

it's much to slow working for how much I paid; cost

I think that I need something stronger. This is working much to slow. I wouldn;t get this if your borderline severe acne. I'm some what moderate and have seen little results.

Pros:

I had experienced no side effects. Was given a discount card, so medicine costed under $25 dollars per prescription.

Cons:

After 5 mths. skin never cleared up. My acne became more severe and had extra oily skin. 5 mths. is too long to take antibiotics and not see good results!! Very disappointed.

Did not work for me, but may for you. You should try product for 3 mths only with discount card to see if medicine works for you. If no improvement, discontinue meds. Derm. will encourage you to take it for entire duration; however you know your acne. 3 mths is plenty enough time to see improvement. I used accutane 10 yrs. ago and it worked. I am going to try this once more. Nothing else works. All other antibiotics only worked while taking meds. The effects did not last more than a month.

Pros:

DID NOTHING !

Cons:

Got a rash.

I used Solodyn for 3 month. It had done nothing to help improve my skin. Doctor prescribed Accutane now.

Pros:

You only have to take it once a day

Cons:

I used it for a month and it made my acne worse. My face was a disaster. Im still trying to recover from it.

Pros:

i can tell a difference with my acene within just about two weeks of taking the mediciation

Cons:

headaches

i am on solodyn 90mg...i also took acutane approx 3-4years ago. im just about 2 weeks in with solodyn i can tell a difference however i do get cycstic pimples now never had them before even with acutane. im getting frustrated and thinking about going back on acutane.....i have a lot of scares from the acene does anyone know if solodyn helps with skin tone and scares also?

Pros:

I guess it works, I can't really tell yet. I am super dry though.

Cons:

Too expensive, w/out the coupon it's 500 something, bs if you ask me.

Dunno yet, ask me again at week 12.
