Pros:

none

Cons:

no effect on my skin at all.
horrible headaches
muscle ache
fatigue

wasn't covered by my insurance
so I was given samples by my doctor.

I've been on solodyn for about a month now. I was on 60 mg the first two weeks and it helped prevent a few whiteheads and red bumps for a while. Then my dermatologist put me on 90 mg and it has no effect at all. Actually, I broke out even more especially on the chin and cheek area. I'm going to stop taking this and ask for accutane.

Pros:

Amazing! took a little while to work but it has really helped alongside all the washes and creams i use too. i recommend for people with deep acne like i had

Cons:

it hasnt been tested long term...and i am still on it. my derm wants me to try and stop if i can but why would i want to stop if its working? however, i have been getting blood tests since ive been on it and my white blood cell count is lowering....

I would give this a try before using acutane. it isnt as harmful and the only side effect i have had is a lowering white blood cell count. at the beginning i did have stomach pains but they have gone away now and i take the pill every other day. just be careful with it. if something else works for u i'd use that since this one isnt meant for long term yet.... but it does what it's supposed to once u give it time.

Pros:

Reduces inflammation, can be taken with food, and one pill at a time.

Cons:

Expensive ($750 w/o insurance), does not help with cystic acne and its main ingredient is minocycline which can cause some serious side effects if taken for too long.

I switched to Solodyn after I became resistant to doxy. My face has not become worse, but it has shown little or no improvement. I have minor cysts (still cystic acne but they aren't bad). Please only consider my review if you have cystic acne, as that is all I can speak for. If you have other types of acne, Solodyn may work for you. It costs $750 w/o insurance for a month's supply of 90mg pills. I am fortunate enough to have insurance that allows me to pay only $10, but it doesn't matter. No one should have to pay $750 for a medication that is ineffective in treating moderate cystic acne.

Pros:

Clears your face rather quickly-great results. I have cystic acne and use in conjuction with tazorac gel.

Cons:

You nust use a good sunscreen...Now that it is summer my skin is starting to burn when I am in the car and outside with the kids. You can't avoid sun these days. For me a is a good fall/winter med

Works really well for severe acne. Try it out. Make sure you get a discout card from the Dermatologist because it is pricey!

Pros:

My cystic acne is clearing up and no more breakouts. It's really all that worked for me.

Cons:

At first a little dizzy with headaches but it didn't last long.

Worked well and I got a discount card from the doctor.

Pros:

It decreases redness and irritation in the skin. I'm currently using it with Brevoxyl-4 and I'm not seeing much of a difference but it prevents any other breakouts. It works better if you take it around the same time everyday, and be consistent.

Cons:

Works kinda SLOOOW.

My dermatologist gave me this prescription and it isn't as great as I thought it would be. It's only been about a month I've been using it, and he said I would see 75% clearing in my skin. Actually, I've seen probably 10%, and that's me being positive =/ I've seen some blackheads around my nose area that I've never had? Weird. IDK, I'll work it out for another month. From the other reviews, it seems to work if you're taking it properly and with a good exfoliator or somethin'.

Pros:

i am in my teens and i started taking solodyn about a week ago (135 mg) i have noticed the redness has gone away and my forehead feels much smoother. A great product im using now is called Epiduo, along with the solodyn im seeing great results.

Cons:

dizziness

solodyn by itself does not seem to help but with topical creams i am seeing results.

Pros:

i didnt break out as much as i use to. i would recommend not going more than 2 days without it cuz i went 5 days and i break out like crazy. now im back and its clearing up....im happy now ! ! !

Cons:

did break out two weeks in to it....i think i should wait at least 3 months...to see more results. i do feel tire. and i am not sure if i ever have to pay the regular cost for it cuz 585 its just too much....but a clear face its worth every penny!!!

really happy with this product....i guess you have to try it for yourself and always have a positive additude about your acne. it always goes away...nothing last forever. BE PATIENT !!

Pros:

None =[

Cons:

This acutally made my face break out worse than it ever has before. By acne was always mild, but i was looking to improve it, and this product just made it worse!!! I also found myself feeling tired alot...

Wouldn't reccommend it

Pros:

I've only been using Solodyn for 4 days and I have already completely cleared up. Also, taking it only once a day is great.

Cons:

About an hour after taking this medication I feel absolutely terrible. Headache, fatigue, nausea, dizziness.

Since I've only been using Solodyn for a few days now I'm hoping that the negative side effects are going to go away (and SOON!!). I don't really know what is worse, how I feel on this medicine, or the acne. I think if the headaches continue for much longer I will have to fine something else, which is a shame because I think this is really helping my skin.
