Pros:

Easy to take

Cons:

If you burp or cough after taking the pill a it can taste really BAD

Took it for about 8 months and did virtually nothing for me. It's basically an anti-biotic. For me it's been such a waste of my time and I am still stuck with acne. My dermatologist was reluctant prescribe something new so after 8 months I will find a new one derma.

Pros:

Cheap and easy to use. Clearing up some of my pimples and skin seems less oily.

Cons:

Still have alot of cystic acne. Upset stomach, headache, and fatigue.

Needs to be used consistently and for a little while longer before I can give a better opinion!

Pros:

I didn't have any side effects like diarrhea or yeast infections, both possibilities with this drug, since I used probiotics and ate yogurt daily. Cheap with my insurance - I only paid $1.15 for 30 day supply.

Cons:

Did nothing for my moderate, non-cystic breakouts. I used for 6 weeks.

It didn't work for me, but if you aren't having success with other antibiotics give it a try since there aren't any side effect if you use with probiotics.

Pros:

It's easy to take. Popping a pill is perhaps the least time-consuming acne fighting medication out there.

Cons:

It did absolutely NOTHING but make me get a bad taste in my mouth. It smells bad too.

A lot of people have given this positive reviews, but it didn't do anything for me - possibly because I suffer from hormonal acne.

Pros:

In the past year I have started gettin acne on my back. Here recently i was prescribed cephalexin. It has been doing wanders for me. I have tried everything, and this seems to be the only thing that works!

Cons:

Obviously it doesn't smell the best.( from what i have read). I don't smell of my medicines. It may not have the greatest smell, but it does whats its made to do. Thats all I care about.

Cephalexin is highly recommended! I will continue to take it!

Pros:

Works. didnt have the stomach aches other talk about

Cons:

i guess smell? doesnt bother me really tho.

i was in a bad skateboard accident. i broke my wrist and had cuts all over my back(no shirt on). i was put on this medicine to kill the bacteria that was probably in the cuts on my back from the tar getting in there. while on this, my back cleared up almost completely and i was not afraid to show people my cuts (i usually keep my back covered all the time due to my gross backne). face was basically completely clear as well. i went back to my doxycyclin after that weeks dose, and acne got worse. now doctor re-perscribed cephalexin and im gonna see if this will work like it did before.

Pros:

Cleared some acne

Cons:

Caused skin peeling and rash on my face and tightness of the skin

It may just be me, but my skin worsened after two days worth of doses. My skin was flaking and peeling and had red inflamation on my face.

Pros:

Cheap and it WORKS!!! Just as good as Minocycline.
If minocycline doesn't work for you try this one!

Cons:

May cause stomach aches and bad diarrhea.

The brand name is called Duricef. I love this antibiotic! It works! I've been using it for 2 months and I'm pretty clear!

Pros:

Slight improvements already 2 days on it.

Cons:

Nothing yet.

After being on doxy for 7 months it stopped working for me and ulitmately got worse than it has ever been. Too afraid to go on accutane because of the initial IB lasting to up to 2 months or end of course treatment I felt antibiotics were faster and was the right choice right now. I mentioned to my Derm about putting me on Minocycline since from what I read those who get immuned to Doxy just switch within the family. He however strongly suggested I try this medicine before doing that but it was my choice he said he would put me on that if that's what I wanted. Obviously I went with his decision, what the hell do I know about all these meds. He also prescribed two topicals, one for day and night. Aczone for the morning and Tazorac for the night. I'm on 250mg. I wonder if that's enough since I read some of you on 500 mg, and believe me when I say my acne is severe. One thing I noticed is a slight pain with my jaw. That however could just be cause by my body for whatever reason and not the meds. Oh and I've only gotten diarrhea once. I really don't see any problems with the drug. Believe me it is way better than Doxy in my personal experience and opinion. Doxy tastes disgusting even when you shot take it like a shot glass, it made me extremely nauseous and tired. Oh boy it was hard for me to get through my work shifts when on Doxy, I was always so tired. So sometimes I would skip a day without it. Doxy really screwed me over, even though it cleared my face for the most part of 6 to 7 months, it left me with a hideous acne I have never had this bad.
