Cephalexin : Oral Antibiotic

My face and neck are more clear than ever! Still waiting on the cystic stuff though...only been on it a week

I took these pills at the same time I started using aczone and retin-a creams. The results were visible in a couple months. There were noticeably less active pimples, and most of what I had on my face were marks. Still dealing with the marks today, but at least I don't have to deal with active pimples much anymore

I am 32f, saw derm for terrible breakouts on back that I've never had before. Diagnosed foliculitis and acne. Prescribed doxy and clindamiacin cream. Doxy caused vommiting so he switched to keflex. After one week no improvement, back is worse, face is same. Caused yeast infection plus bad feminine itch. Holding out in hopes it will work soon, but it's not looking good. I don't understand how I could have a clear back all my life and now all of a sudden there are zits Everywhere all over it.

Let me just start off by saying I'm not a typical patient, I know the medical field and am very fimiliar with pharmaceuticals. So typically when I go to see a doctor I end up getting what I'm looking for. I know the Rx and I know what these drugs are doing in my body. I also know the different families and what's Strong and what's not. That being said... Long story short, my acne was so severe I went in telling them i wamt acutane not some garabge anti biotic. I qualified for acutane, but my PA(not doctor) wouldn't give it to me. She gave me Doxy instead. After 2 months on that I saw incredible changes. The experience sucked horribly but it did work. Sadly I knew that with anti biotics in 2-5 months my acne would return. Sure enough 2 months after my acne started to break out again, I went back tellin her that I tried the doxy, it worked, but now it's coming back, I want acutane. She gave me the run around and talked about how she has no issue prescribing acutane but than proceeded to attempt to scare me outta the medication. So I just said, whatever, give me more doxy since that worked last time. She wouldnt(big surprise....not!) and gave me the keflex. I told her I didn't want it, that keflex isn't nearly as powerful as doxy, I wanted the doxy. She wouldn't give me the doxy, so I walked out with the keflex. It's been about 6-7 weeks and of coarse, big surprise, it hasn't done crap. When i called to be switched back to Doxy the PA WOUKDNT DO IT!! Garbage anti biotic. I go back on the 20th to speak to an actual doctor about my skin. Hopefully they'll stop giving me the run around and just give me the acutane.

However, I was using Keflex not cephalexin (the generic brand) For some reason Keflex 750 mg twice a day was amazing. I could skip a day or two and still had great skin; however I recently got some generic Keflex and it did not seem as powerful. Weird, I know. I have had acne since I was 14 and was pleased that I found a temporary fix... now I'm just looking for something long lasting. I paid $45.00 with insurance...

i used it when i got my c-section. i noticed NO acne in a week. i was taking it 4 times a day though. try it i actually never new this was for acne but hey if it works use it. i read over all of your reviews and it seems to work better on WOMEN, sorry guys. but we have different chemicals and thats probably why.

Worth a try. I've read the reviews and it doesn't work for everyone. I have used Cephalexin multiple times and it has worked for me each time. I take it three times a day, and it took about 2 weeks for me to see a BIG difference. Even though it does cause some stomach cramping, I still think it is worth it.

Yeah i was initionally on it for a rash - Impetigo... but while I was on it along with clearing the rash up it completelygot rid of my acne. If it continues to work I will be very impressed.

product works.. it obviously is not a cure however is a great addition to your regimen.. if your going through a breakout id definitly recomend going on it..its harmless and definitly works.. i would probably only use it during times when you have major breakouts

I took Cephalexin twice a day for two solid months and it didn't do anything at all.
