Pros:

All you have to do is take a pill and you get rid of those big zits. Lowers the frequency of pimples.

Cons:

I still have acne, it only gets rid of some types of acne. I have to use it The Regimend, but I still have intense acne.

Its good, but so far I have yet to see my face to be clear of acne. If you have as bad acne as I do, this and many other applications/Medications/pills help alot.

Pros:

prescribed for an infected insect bite but after a few days, noticed skin had cleared, and also a cartilage piercing infection is clearing

Cons:

horrible stomach aches and diarrhea, also chest pains

as someone who's skin is not too bad and is having bad stomach reactions, i'd say its worth a try but if you experience any problems, leave well alone

Pros:

It did clear up most of my face only a few spots on chin/cheek none on my forehead! but didnt clear up spots on back/arms/chest/neck. its free on NHS.

Cons:

they flare back up when you come off it and i seemed to sweat more on these tablets and i never used to sweat under my arms!

These tablets are good esp short term but they are no long term soloution they do work but my skin still wasnt flawless and i still couldnt use products on my skin as i would flare up. My gp left me on these tablets for about 2 years although i tried to change to a different antibiotic my skin got worse so went back on these.Only problem is as soon as you come off them spots return and you build up a resistance to them.

Pros:

none.

Cons:

people with severe acne should not take this.

i'm sorry but i had to take this because in order to take accutane, you must have had to fail with 2 previous oral medications, and i had to take this. and NOPE it did not work at all. took accutane and THAT worked.

Pros:

cleared me up about 90% then suddenly out of the blue little whiteheads starting appearing on my chin, then on my forehead now they are slowly starting to spread on my cheeks..arggghhhh!

Cons:

ok for a quick fix but then you become immune and then your back to square one, full of little whiteheads. I thought it was down to stress but its not its this stuff. anyway going to see my doctor tomorrow need something to help with my skin.

ok, its a quick fix like a bandaid then it cant stick anymore and falls off and lets all the white ones through.. and boy is it bad news seeing your skin go from stunningly clear to getting tiny red bumps and there popping up around my mouth - boy they look ugly and I feel it. Im off to see my doctor tomorrow and going to beg for something to take oral that will help:(

WORKED SO WELL!!

Prior to taking erythromycin i has tried multiple antibiotics as well as creams and gels from my GP. I was prescribed erythromycin as a last resort before hospital referral on a very short course (around 6 weeks). The first week or so i didn't notice a change, however by two weeks in my skin had changed dramatically. i struggled with clusters of acne however these were all gone by around 8 weeks. Now, 3 months later my skin feels amazing (i only get occasional spots). Erythromycin saved my skin!

A little guidance would be gratefully recieved
I have been on these, 2x 2 daily, for three weeks now and my skin is worse than it has ever been. I have been on lots of different acne meds for the last two years as have struggled with it for many more. I am not experiencing any significant side effects, however, as I said before my skin is looking extremely covered, sore and red at the moment. Is this a sign that it is working and that my skin will get worse before it gets better? If not, then what should I do because it will take months to get to the derma and it is really getting my self-esteem low seeing as I have had this for about four years. I am starting college this year and really want my skin to clear up.

I would not recommend this to anyone
Treating acne inflammation via antibiotics (as if there was a severe infection which endangers ones life) is the worst way to go. Not only you're neglecting the root cause, you also weaken your immune system and are killing your gut flora, all which, in the long run, can worsen your acne condition and health in general.
