Made my skin dry, red and sore.
I thought I had fairly oily skin but it must not be that oily because 3 days of this cleanser and it's so dry my make-up only lasts about 10 minutes! I just hope that I haven't done too much damage and can sort my skin out quickly.

face wash staple
I have been buying/using this for years and absolutely swear by it. I have the oily T zone and this product IS very drying, but the key is to follow up with an appropriate moisturizer while your skin is still damp.

No.

Pros:

Pump bottle

Cons:

Smells
Terribly drying

I was excited to use this when it came out. Everyone was raving about it in magazines, and it even had awards for best facial cleanser. I beg to differ. First off, it smells horrible. Almost too medicated. Secondly, it dried me out so bad! I don't see why it's getting awards. I haven't seen anyone use this that I know of. Neutrogena is a little overrated in opinion. Most of their products are harsh or don't work at all. Instead of clearing my face, it dried my face and made me breakout more.

Great cleanser

Pros:

Great scent
Gentle
Oil free

I've been using Neutrogena oil free acne wash for about 7 years now and I love the scent of the grapefruit wash. I recently got a clarisonic and instead of spending a lot of money on the clarisonic cleansers, I have been using it with my neutrogena cleanser. The combination of using my clarisonic with this product has helped tremendously with my skin. If I didn't use a moisturizer after cleansing, this product could potentially dry out my skin (although my skin is very oily) but other than that I love the price and this cleanser has worked for me for a long time now!

Simply a cleanser

Pros:

Inexpensive
Leaves Skin clean and not dry
Keeps skin clear and balanced

Cons:

no active acne fighting ingredients

This product really allows my skin to calm down and feel clean. It allows my skin to become rebalanced without getting overly dry and definitely not oily. I really enjoy this cleanser because it can be worked into a lather or used as just a gel-like cleanser. Also, it is from the drugstore so it is easily accessible.

Pros:

At first my acne was light, after using this my acne got worse. I looked this up and found that the product brings up all acne and the more you use this the less acne you will deal with. I ran out of mine, so I have a spot on my forehead with acne. Overall I think it worked for me.. In a way.

Cons:

Makes skin red and irritated
Causes acne to swell
Drys skin slightly

This works, if you put in a few months of scrubbing twice a day.

Pros:

Cheap
One step acne fighter
Clears up acne

Cons:

Little harsh

When I used this it worked amazing for the first few days but then I had to stop using it because it caused me to get rashes above my lip and under my eyebrows. It really helps acne though.

Pros:

-leaves skin smooth
-skin feels clean
-drys skin (which is good if you are oily)

Cons:

-The salicylic acid in this product hurts the corners of my mouth. I have to avoid this area when cleansing.

I initially broke out a few years ago and got everything completely under control with dan's regimen. about a year ago I started breaking out again on my cheeks. I think my hormones are fluctuating but nevertheless i decided to look into salicylic acid products to really clean my pores. I started using this as a cleanser instead of dan's cleanser day and night and paulas choice 2% BHA lotion every night. My skin looks more radiant due to all the exfoliation and I have not broken out since starting. I recommend this product if you want to help unclog pores and have skin that is naturally not dry. good luck!
