Pros:

Great looking skin!

Cons:

Dry and flaky skin

I am 38 years old and started the system a few weeks ago based on several friend's suggestions. It has worked great for me. She also had good advice to help w/the drying effect-use Cetaphyl lotion-spf 15 after the last step( step 5) in the morning before you put on make-up. It has helped a ton w/the flaking and redness. Also, I am only using blender/retin A every other day. My doctor said to take it slow and not "power through" the bad phase of break-outs, increased wrinkles and dry skin-which I saw all of in the first week. It has gotten a lot better now and my skin is looking clear and feel sift. The wrinkles are still looking worse but I do think those will get better as I continue the system.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne in a couple of weeks and I haven't had any since. I've struggled with acne for 12 years. I thought that nothing would work. This is the ONLY product that has worked so consistently.

Cons:

I have nothing bad to say.

Through the years I tried Proactiv, Oil of Olay products, Neutrogena, and on and on. Some would work for a couple of weeks, but, nothing really helped the texture of my skin or really truly got rid of acne all together. I had a real problem with cysts and I would constantly be picking at my face. It wasn't until last fall that my Mom took me for a facial and they suggested the Obagi Clenziderm system. It's 3 products. I've found it online for cheaper than buying it at a Spa. It is well worth the money. I don't worry about my skin anymore. I look great. I wanted to write a review, because I used to comb these reviews looking for answers for what would work and this product has most certainly worked for me. I hope it can help someone else too!

Pros:

A great product! It cleared up my skin faster than anything and after 6 years of battle I finally think I have a chance at being free of acne with this line.

Cons:

I bought the cleanziderm normal to dry because even for my combination/sensitive skin the bp can be harsh. It took about a month to see results.

Patience is key. Also, just becasue it says for normal to dry skin types doesn' t mean that it is not for you. Sometimes the products made for "normal" skin are way too harsh.

Pros:

This has been the best product I have ever used on my adult cystic acne! The soft texture and smoothness has returned to my skin. The overall redness and scars on my face are less visible and my breakouts have decreased 99%.

Cons:

Product results start to show in about 4 weeks so be patient, it is worth it.

I will continue to use this product for the rest of my acne years of my life. It got me the skin I wanted for my wedding and I no longer have cystic acne. Be patient with the product, it can take four weeks to see results. Also skin peeling is to be expected but it is not unbearable. The peeling is mild as if you got a light sun burn and started to peel/flake on certain parts of your face. I experienced this particularly around my mouth and upper cheeks. The peeling lessens over time. Overall, amazing product and worth every penny!

Pros:

Smooth Skin

Cons:

Ridiculously expensive
Don't need all the creams - total rip off
Requires huge commitment to a whole system with minimal results
Very drying and hard to apply make up on top of
Embarrassing
Blue face for 2 days after the peel

Last year, after hours of research, I took the plunge and went to a private clinic called Transform to have my acne scars corrected. I'm now 27 and have suffered from acne since the age of 13. Nothing seemed to work for me except for going on the pill and antiseptic cream from Boots, however my skin finally seemed to have grown out of having acne and I needed something for the scars and for my low confidence. Firstly although the people in the clinic are nice, they are clearly sales people as well as nurses trying to get you to spend as much money as possible. I paid just over £1000 for the nu-derm system and a blue peel. I religiously stuck to the system for 18 weeks with little results, in fact with more spots than I started with, so they advised another 6 weeks on the system with an increased doseage of Retin A. At the end of the extra 6 weeks the spots had gone but otherwise apart from it being 'lovely and smooth' (the only thing the nurse ever seemed to say about my skin) there was very little, if any, improvement. In September I had my peel and I have never been so disappointed. I was told my skin would be near-perfect but it made absolutely no difference. My skin perhaps more even but the scars were still exactly as bad as they were before. And it made the fine lines under my eyes much worse. Another thing to add to the long list of things I hate about my face! My opinion is that the Retin A is the only thing in the system that really does anything. Transform charge £90 for it and you can go to the doctor and get it on prescription from your doctor for £7. In my experience only thing that works for acne for girls is the pill and anti-septic cream (I use Boots own brand and it's really good) or benzoyl peroxide. I have now been using Skin Doctors Powerbrasion at home for the last few weeks which seems to be working on the scars and I'm now looking into laser treatment as well. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

Pros:

Very effective

Cons:

Drying/Peeling

I am going into my third week on the Clenziderm system and things are looking up. The first week I broke out really bad, the second week I healed with no new breakouts but with drying and peeling which made makeup hard to apply. The system that I purchased did not come with a moisturizer, so I took it upon myself to get Eucerin redness reducing nighttime and daytime moisturizer. Overall, I am very glad to have started the system. Now that the worst of the drying/peeling is over, I am needing much less makeup and concealer. After I get these breakouts under control its off to skin resurfacing to deal with the scarring! One little note... I got the employee discount on the system from my sister in law who works in a cosmetic physicians practice so my price is probably a bit cheaper than it looks like most paid.

Pros:

Works very well for me!!!

Cons:

Expensive for the entire line.

I know everyone skin is different and I have read post about obagi making their skin peel, break outs and blackheads. I 'm sure this product does not work for everyone, however many women don't take into consideration of the time the skin was abused and when the skin is going through a transformation the old skins has to shed and that did happen to me when I first began using the product. For two months my skin look uneven, broke out a little and my skin was oiler than usual but the dead skin was shedding. The new skin was being rejuvenated. I am a 43 yr old with a 19 yr daughter and a 6yr son. People do not believe I have a 19 yr old daughter. About a year 1/2 ago I become unemployed and could not purchase my product and my skin slowly began to revent back and I hated it. I am now back on the Rx-C and my skin is starting to glow again. I also would like to share that for those who stick with it and see results, that once your skin is where you want it, you can cut back on using the product daily. I would use my 4% hydro and exfol lotion every other day which helps the product last even longer. I don't buy the entire line the suncreen and washing lotion are pretty much the same save your money on that part.

Obagi is awful, overpriced and pointless.

Pros:

One cream (Tret) was benificial

Cons:

overpriced
does nothing to scars or blemishes whatsoever
Time consuming for no result

I have been on the three cream treatment for the use on scars and current acne for 4 months. I was patient and shouldn't have been. Only one cream has actually benefited me and that is the smaller tube. (Tret) Saying that I still believe this is overpriced but it has reduced my current acne and works well on large spots. As for the other two creams they are an absolute rip off and haven't made any difference to me whatsoever it has made my face more red and brought out more scarring. All in all do not waste your money or time.

Pros:

Works straight away, no waiting to see results.
Easy to follow regime (as long as you stick to it).

Cons:

Don't get it in your eyes!
Mild stinging that lasts for a few hours after use.
May be pricey for some.

This year I had 5 Fraxel laser treatments for my acne scarring and my skin clinic doctor put me on a range of creams that have so far done nothing for the acne breakouts. I was getting sick of the old creams (Aspect) I asked my beautician for advice. She put me on the Obagi Clenziderm system. I'm only in my second week and have noticed my skin breaking out in my problem areas as well as the peeling, BUT I do not use a moisturiser to compensate as you're not supposed to! The system is designed to promote new skin turnover and the production of collagen so the peeling/dryness is a part of that process. Using a moisturiser will make it all ball up and defeats the purpose. My advice for those that are peeling too much or have overly dry skin is to use less of the products in your daily routine and, to help speed things along and reduce breakouts (plus to make your skin feel instantly better) ask your beautician for a Glycolic peel. There is no downtime with one and they're extremely safe. I had one after the first week on the system and am very glad... less skin to shed! Oh, and get yourself an eye cream (I'm using Elastiderm) and a good lip balm to counteract drying in those areas. I will be sticking with this product for as long as I can as I can see the improvements in pore size and pigmentation already. I hope everything keeps going well. And price? It's cheap compared to pretty much everything else I've tried, plus, if it makes my skin better it's worth every cent!

Pros:

Clears up acne
Removes dark spots and pigment issues
odorless
worth every penny

I was suffering from moderate acne, I was now trying a third dermatologist in which he recommended obagi. Best thing I ever did, in an ideal world i would of got flawless skin in 2 weeks, but that didnt happen...lol....The Dr told me skin regenerates in 3 months and that how long it too for me to have flawless skin. i did see improvement in about 4-5 weeks. The Dr gave me an exfoliating pad that you can buy from any drug store to use along with my cleanser. This is the reason that I didnt really experience peeling. He gave me different products from the obagi lines to taylor make the kit for my skin, he focused on the acne and said we would worry about the spots later. Luckily the regimen fixed both problems at the same time. He gave me the clenziderm acne clenser, tretenion 0.05%, Nu Derm moisterizer and Obagi-C sunblock spf 30. I used thes products day and night (sunscreen only in the daytime) and now I am proud not to wear make up, I can remember ever having such nice skin. I strongly recommend this product. It seems costly up front but my kit last over for months a little goes such a long way. If you divide what you pay buy the time frame it last its the price of over the counter products. and the good part it you would have to buy all the parts at once when you are replenishing it, which makes it more affordable.
