Cons:
NOTHING
Suffered from the biggest breakout of my life when my acne finally reached around my cheek bones and my cheeks. Used Cleansers, AHA, B.Peroxide, Moisturizers on my face and left noticeable hyperpigmentation on my face. It was only then that i realized that all those chemicals probably contributed to the inflammation of my acne and caused hyperpigmentation. So, I decided just to only use water in the morning with luke warm water, mid day with luke warm water, and then take a shower at night. All i can say is wow.. these three simple steps finally cleared my acne and is slowly taking care of my hyperpigmentation. So, to all that have super sensitive skin maybe just water will do.

Joined acne.org in 2006...
I just logged in today after several years. I had moderate acne in my late teens and early 20's. I used a variety of products and found that differin worked well for me. I'm now in my early 30's and had a severe outbreak this time last year. Acne is so much more painful as an adult. It makes you feel like a child again and really damages your self esteem. Anyway. I started using differin again but my face just got worse and worse. I decided to stop using all products including my "collection" of face washes/scrubs in favour of warm water. I was amazed that after only 2 days my skin was less oily. After a week it felt firmer, softer and had a nice glow. I did notice that I was building up dry skin but with the help of a wash cloth and regular shaving with water only, this was solved. My acne became much better. I had a few small surface spots that would heal faster. My acne scars also started to fade much more rapidly than before. I now try to avoid chemicals as much as possible. Our bodies have evolved over millions of years to tolerate all that the world throws at them. All these cleansers and scrubs and other products remove that natural defence and leave skin vulnerable to attack.

You have to try this!
Its just all chemical crap! Your skin was built better than to have to rely on all these chemicals from drug stores. You can see this from this regime!

Can't believe I waited so long
After more than 15 years of buying countless products and trying everything, my toiletry bag was lost on a long vacation. For 10 days I had no face wash, bezoyl peroxide or make up. I was so worried the whole time that my face would break out, but the opposite happened: my face was clearer after those 10 days than it had been in many years. It makes me mad that the entire skin care industry wants to hide this simple solution just to sell their products, but this is the real answer.

SO FAR SO GOOD!
So, I thought I would wait to post about my withdrawal from all things face wash related after I reached the thirty day mark, but on day 4 I'm already getting excited about my results. Long story short, I never had acne in high school-not one zit. College was a different story, I began breaking out occasionally and started picking up the usual Neutrogena or Clearisil acne washes. My skin only got worse from there and not a single thing I've done has cured my acne for more than a couple days. I was so strict about my skincare regimen that it overtook my life. I'd stay in when I was broken out and I avoided countess outings. As you can imagine, I got quite sick of the lack of results I was seeing. I avoided processed foods and dairy, limited my carb and sugar intake, and drank nothing but a TON of water. This helped, but I still wasn't getting the clear skin I yearned for. Back to where I began, I quit my toners, exfoliators, and chemical face washes 4 days ago. I've done nothing but splash my face with water after washing my hands with an anti-bacterial soap (and obviously my face gets wet in the shower, but NO scrubbing, moisturizing, ANYTHING). I should also mention that I do not wear makeup aside from mascara. My skin began peeling quite a bit (I've always had dry skin), but it has begun to even out with the natural oils on my face. The problem spots on my face (chin, nose area, hairline) have these little white spikes sticking out of them. This sounds gross, but they are super tiny and not irritated whatsover. My complexion is still flat and smooth in these places-my skin is literally expelling the toxins. Even though it's summer and I've obviously sweated a bit, I still have not got a new zit. I can't believe it. I was so paranoid skipping my skincare regimen would break me out, when it seemed to be the cause all along. I had never had acne before I started using chemical skin products. If you have always struggled with acne, there seem to be mixed reviews about this type of regimen. If you're like me, however, and never had acne as a teenager (I'm 22)-GIVE THIS A TRY. I will update, and I've taken a picture of my face every day. I'm feeling so optimistic!

THE TRUTH & BEAUTY
So I have started for 4 days and I felt so much FREE and RELIEVED! SAVING MY TIME AND MONEY!
I started it slowly by reducing water on my face, but absolutely NO FACIAL WASH PRODUCT. I told myself to commit to NO MAKE UP and keep bare face as much as I could. It was a HUGE CHALLENGE for me, but after 2 days, the fear was gone! I am using cotton pads soak with a bit water to wash of dust occasionally if I was doing activities outdoors. Olive oil or coconut oil to remove eye make up (only mascara :P). Every 2 days I apply night moisturizer, coconut oil for my under eye treatment. I am thinking to cut off night moisturizer as I saw NO IMPROVEMENT between having or not having moisturizer.
So far I have been enjoy the regimen so much, I am now having more time to look after my diet and taking time to do my exercise, instead of spending time for facial treatment and make up, I am now saving around 1-2 hrs/day and for sure lots of money:P
I think this regimen is very related to the fact that you gotta believe in the TRUTH, THE NATURE. Let your skin be natural on its way, better do NOTHING to cover it up or prevent it to be natural:) Don't you love yourself,? Perhaps I have loved myself in an incorrect way for years that's why I have been suffering from acne and sensitive skin. Now thanks God I found the way to love my TRUE SELF and be close to NATURE & THE TRUTH
I wish everyone found your own way to treat your skin as long as loving yourself:)
Be beautiful :x

Only Works If You Never Really Had Acne
I am amazed at how highly rated the caveman method is. I would only try this if I had a few pimples here and there. I have moderately severe acne, and after trying this method my face went nuts. It was a nightmare. Seriously, this only works if you never really had acne in the first place. If you have acne in your genetics, continue treating your acne.

This DOES help
I did this for a month, and it does help with certain things. I saw an increase in my breakouts, however i found that the breakouts lasted a shorter amount of time. My skin became much healthier, smoother and thicker. My oiliness reduced so well, and my tone improved. The reason i do not do this anymore is because if your acne is hormonal, this will do nothing for you. + i got so much more clogged pores, however overall my skin did improve and i recommend EVERYONE tries this. Its the safest and cheapest method, and if it cures your acne then you have the cheapest cure ever!

Dermatologist Approved
I was instructed by my dermatologist to stop washing my face, and my skin has never looked better! She herself (who has the world's most fabulous skin) confessed that she doesn't either.
Having said that, she did say it wasn't a cure-all for everybody, but a few certain types who lack sufficient ceramide.

TRY IT!!!!
I'm honestly shocked. I've had moderate acne since middle school, and a mess of hyperpigmentation spots all over my face. I've tried every medication, wash, treatment on the market- onexton, retin-A, tazorac, clindamyacin, epiduo, even natural stuff like apple cider vinegar. I had the last straw when washing my face with HONEY majorly broke me out. My sister said to try just water. I thought "my skin is so oily, that will only make it worse!" BUT I was desperate and guys.... it's a miricle. After 2 DAYS- my pimples from the breakout are all FLAT. My red hyperpigmentation is even faded! I'm barely even oily by the end of the day. I'm so happy. My only regret was not doing this months ago!
My regimen is to simply splash cold water on my face every morning and before bed. I let my face air dry too. THATS IT- no spot treatment or anything. Just water or it won't work!! It's truly amazing. I know you might be skeptical like me, but when your acne is as bad as mine was you're willing to try anything! I hope this works for you, best of luck to all of you!!! :)
