Pros:

fragrance free, oil free, sting free. I thought it felt moisturizing and non greasy. Less expensive than Clinique DDMG.

Cons:

it broke me out.

I use the BP treatment gel and this moisturizer. Despite the reduction of acne, I still continue to get one or two. Once an area has healed, I will get a break out in a different area of the face. It cannot be the BP treatment gel because its purpose is to help heal acne. And my acne heals with continued use. I tested the moisturizer by itself. After washing my face and dabbing it dry, I applied the moisturizer. No eye creams no sunscreen and no BP. The next day, I got a breakout on my left cheek. And, this is a problem free area.

Pros:

NONE!!! Literally None!

Cons:

Didn't Moisturize!!! (even with 6 pumps)

I wanted to like this lotion so bad, but just couldn't. It really is a terrible moisturizer. I honestly felt like this made my skin even more dry than before. My skin was completely ruined from this product. My acne came back, my skin turned red (like when i started the regimen), along with the flakes (again, like when i started the regimen), itchy, tender, and just almost raw feeling... Basically my skin went from close to perfect until i decided to switch to this moisturizer, at that point my skin completely returned to how it was before i ever started the regimen. I was sooo upset. This is the first review i have ever done, because i dont want anyone to go through that experience!! PS. I wanted to like this product so bad, i even tried the recommended by DAN, use more approach, to the point of using 6 full pumps, which literally completely filled the palm of my hand which seemed ridiculous and unrealistic to do everyday 2 times a day. not only would you run out of product extremely fast but for daytime use? ehh i dont think soo!!! furthermore, 6 PUMPS STILL DIDN'T MOISTURIZE!!!!! so at that point i'd had enough and sent the product back! Horrible experience please be advised.

Pros:

Light
No scent
contains licorice root
doesn't sting

Cons:

doesn't take care of flaky skin
greasy/doesn't absorb well (probably b/c of jojoba oil as 2nd ingredient)

i just started the regimen last month..the cleanser and bp are really goood..but the moisturizer doesn't cut it..it does moisture for like an hour...but after that my face feel like i have never put it on..in my opinion, dans should put less jojoba oil in the moisturizer (too much jojoba oil in the moisturizer make it hard for my skin to absorb) and instead put more Methyl Gluceth-20 in there as a second ingredient behind water...or use some other moisture ingredient..thats just my opinion...

Pros:

None

Cons:

Gave me strange bumps under the skin. Also gave me red streak marks and itchiness. Doesn't appear to be allergy tested.

I was so eager to try the new moisturizer, but I must have some type of allergic reaction to the ingredients. My skin felt itchy after I applied it. Then I started getting little red streak marks and under-the-skin bumps. Still I continued to use the moisturizer over the acne.org BP for the next four days, despite the under-the-skin bumps and little red streak marks. But the red streak marks and under-the-skin bumps did not go away-- they persisted and increased!!! Now I have four under-the-skin bumps and two red marks on my face. My face was nearly clear until I used this moisturizer!!!! To make matters worse, when I get these red marks and bumps, I get scars. And I scar very badly since my skin is olive-colored and prone to hyperpigmentation scars that last forever. Looking at another review, I see I'm not the only one experiencing this weird allergic reaction to the new moisturizer. I don't wear makeup at all. I stay out of the sun so I don't wear sunscreen -- so that eliminates any other possible irritants or culprits. I don't normally wear anything on my face except acne.org BP, and honestly I did not mind all the flakes from dryness. It looks like I'll have to go back to being my flaky, dry, BP-only bare-faced self again. I am VERY bitterly disappointed. Sorry, but I would rather walk around with my skin FLAKING TO DEATH than be moisturized and experiencing all these weird bumps and red streak marks. At least flakes don't scar my skin.

I loved this for years - but can't tolerate the new formula
I've used Acne.org moisturizer twice daily for 14 years. I assumed the new moisturizer would be fine, but something started breaking me out over the past few months and I hadn't changed my routine. I did all of the anti-acne behaviors I knew (clean pillowcases and towels) and tried changing my sunscreen and my cleanser, but nothing worked. The moisturizer was the last thing I suspected, the ingredients were the same (though the color and consistency changed) and I've used it forever. Lo and behold, when I finally stopped the acne.org moisturizer, the breakout disappeared. I'm not happy with my current moisturizer either, but at least my face is smooth and clear again. Please don't gaslight us saying it's something else we're doing that's causing the breakouts. I know it's not "supposed to", but user experience is saying it is affecting at least a handful of loyal long-time customers. I'm devastated.

I am with you. So devastated here as well. I am disappointed at Dan for this new moisturizer now he lost me as a loyal client. I have to find a good moisturizer now. Pls someone should recommend what is working for them now. I still can't find something like what we use to have. So sad

No... :(
I won't repeat all of what others have said. Had a burning feeling, and never got used to it...It might be an allergy to licorice, I don't know. Honestly, this is not a good moisturizer. for most of the reasons below. I'd love a new formula, or a moisturizer without licochalcone. Oh, and redness from BP does not fade with this moisturizer. At least, it did not give me more acne. A NEW MOISTURIZER ! WITHOUT THIS YELLOW THING !

Pros:

light

Cons:

makes face shiny
takes forever to absorb
makes skin look yellow
doesn't moisturize

I really want to like this, but I can't. It makes my face greasy, takes almost an hour to absorb completely, and gives my fair skin a yellowish tint (I look like I have jaundice!). All this would probably be okay with me if it actually did its job. It doesn't moisturize nearly well enough and I still have flakes everywhere, even using much more than the recommended 2 full pumps. It's also crazy that anyone should have to use that much in the first place. You shouldn't have to use 5 or 6 pumps to get your skin moisturized enough. I don't know why the old formula was replaced. It worked much better... All of a sudden it's replaced with something that you can easily use up in 2 or 3 weeks? Yeah, sure it has nothing to do with making money... I'm not happy with this. Please bring back the old formula.

NOTHING

made my skin dry, itchy, and flaky. No amount used helped in the slightest.

With so many terrible reviews of this product, do you not care what your customers think? The old moisturizer was pretty perfect. I say stick to what you know.
