Pros:

Reduced scars, even ice-pick scars; resulted in smoother & healthier skin for better overall texture, tone, & complexion—after just 1 treatment! Not invasive, inexpensive—in Thailand, at least—safe on ethnic skin, no real side effects—not eve

Cons:

None, not even redness. Remember: microdermabrasion is a procedure that needs to be thoroughly & meticulously researched by YOU, before you take that "first step." Make absolutely certain that you are a potential candidate—or you'll end up unhappy.

I'm from New York, where the same $150 microdermabrasion can be performed at a fraction of the cost in Thailand'"blame the IMF, UN, and Bush's cousin Obama for this. I have superficial scars and a few deeper scars from adolescent acne that I wanted to minimize. After my procedure, I went to the mirror anxiously and to my surprise'"and delight'"my skin looks great! However, if you have much deeper scars, try MicroLaserPeel, which is like a microdermabrasion on steroids; it goes deeper but still not too invasive, anywhere from 10-80 microns deep, though 20 is the norm. As for downtime, the microdermabrasion is known as "The Lunch-time Peel," whereas the MicroLaserPeel is known as "The Weekend Peel." You can infer that the downtime for MicroLaserPeel will be about 2-3 days, more for deeper peels'"CIA Google for more info. I wanted to write this post after my 6th treatment but I got too excited after my first, so I will provide another update after my final treatme

Pros:

smooth skin, cleared some blackheads, made my complexion look better, still waiting to see what else.

Cons:

Two days later I had to stay home from school for one day because my skin was so flaky.

I got my first microderm on wednesday. It inflamed my face at first, but it was faded by the next morning. It really helped because I had so much dead skin and my pores were really clogged. I am hoping that with the more treatments I get, the more it will fade my red marks=D

Pros:

It's great to use as a maintainance tool. It clears out a lot of dead skin and your pores without the harshness of squeezing. I recommend once a month.

Cons:

Can be pricey depending on who you go to. Shop around.

As i said I recommend this as a maintainance tool every month to get a thorough cleaning of your face in terms of dead skin and whiteheads and blackheads. Depending on you facial sensetivity use with caution in terms of how frequent its used. Some places I paid $100, but i found a better place for $50 and great specials when you pay up front for multi sessions. This new place cleans your face and puts on some pretty good lotions. Don't think this is a magic pill that will solve it all. Continue you regimen and keep your face moisturized and blot

Pros:

I used a manual microdermabrasion cream called EPIIDERM PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH, from a regular seller on Ebay. What an amazing cream! At this cost I was worried at how effective it would really be.. Great skin, less scarring already A+++

Cons:

You do need to massage it in for 3-5mins each time, initially twice a day.. then less often as you see results. There isn't much cream for the money.. 60gms.. but enough to last 2wks. Skin a little red initially but no itchiness or sideeffects really

I think if you suffer from bad acne, almost severe, have many scars from it, and frequent breakouts, this natural product works very very well. It contains crystals to abrase the skin and remove dry skin, smooth out the contours, and the ingredients prevent further breakouts. It works in many ways, and all in the comfort of home. Will be buying my second tub now.. and in another 2 weeks I will be almost ready to appear with my top off at the beach. Confidence is now back.. and I love the fact that I didn't lose faith and tried this cream. P.S. You will need someone to apply it for you if you have back acne as I did.. difficult to work the cream in those areas. But great results!! :)

Pros:

Skin looks amazing. Scars are down 50% after just two treatments. Makeup goes on smooth and soft- people won't even be able to tell you're wearing it!

Cons:

You walk out feeling like a tomato. It's very expensive (I pay $190 a session) but it's well worth the money. I don't think it would work on severe or active acne, but it's awesome for superficial scars.

I was skeptical about getting it, but boy am I glad I did. I didn't notice much of a difference after the first treatment (but my friends said I was glowing). Well, after the second treatment I definitely noticed the fading of my scars! I'm thrilled (and it's only been two weeks!) The place I go to uses an exfoliating mask, then a diamond tip laser, then a pigmentation machine, then follows up with a vitamin C treatment. I think that's why they can guarantee such great results in every patients (and it's perfect for people like me that only have a few little scars- results are pretty much instant). Would recommend this to anyone with light, stubborn acne scars and/ or a lot of cash to spare.

Pros:

Instant results, baby smooth skin, hyperpigmentation is gone, scars gone.

Cons:

Hurts a little bit, sensitive to sunlight.

I got the Crystal Microdermabrasion, less harsh than the diamon tipped. My treatment was very effective, but the beauty place treated your skin before microdermabrasion. They cleansed, exfoliated and applyed a cooling cream, they than performed the microdermabasion and after they cleansed again, with moistrisied, sunscreened, and vitamin C (to help renewel and scar). the microdermabasion hurt a little, and the vitamin C stung. I recommend getting multiple treatments at regularly intervals. I got 12 treatments in total once every 2 weeks. My acne scars are gone, the hyperpigmentation is gone, my skin looks amazing. I do not recommend getting a one-off treatment, it won't do much. But I recommend seeing a professional that includes a facial treatment. I paid $99 for a treatment.

Pros:

skin feels baby smooth after microdermabrasion, and my skin looks more healthy and glows a lot more

Cons:

crystals sometimes get in the mouth

i would recommend this once your acne is under control. if you perform this while you have active acne, it would possibly worsen it. however, i've seen results... even a 1% difference can be seen, and with continuous use, all those 1% difference adds up!!! i use at home microdermabrasion kit

Pros:

Treatment itself feels great! Face feels smooth and polished and very clean. Evened out my blotchy skin color. Fine lines are reduced.

Cons:

Slight reddening of the skin afterwards. Not sure if this is a con or not. Some people might think you look "glowing". Like everyone says though, it's expensive. I think it's worth it if you're in your late 30s like I am.

The actual treatment, to me, feels great! It's like getting a great back scratching but on your face. Living in New York City leaves me feeling like I'm walking around with a layer of dirt and filth on my skin. This feels like it's getting off all the grime and grit. I hear that more than one treatment is needed to see the full results but I feel that it's already done something. It takes time for the new skin cells to reach the top surface and begin healing and making any noticeable difference. So I'm not sure what some people are complaining about when they say it's not working after only having gone once. There's some slight reddening but I assume that will fade with time.
