Pros:

Cheap alternative. Works more than on acne, but also for the whole body, hair and liver.

Cons:

Bad for teeth.

I've been drinking lemon water (1/2 lemon freshly squeezed in luke warm water) for 4 months now. I drink it 1 hour before breakfast and before bedtime. Results: Soft skin- I no longer use conditioner, less oily hair, got rid of my 4 year battle with acne, got rid of scars, better digestion, less colds, more energy. The lemon is a powerful alkalinizer which is why it works. Acne is a result of too much acid in our body which shows in our skin. Do your research on the internet about acidity & alkalinity in our bodies. It will change your life.

Pros:

cleanses ure kidneys and liver. creates an alkaline enviorment inside the body(yes i know it is an acid) which is important for a healthy body. keeps skin hydrated and clear of blemishes. brightens from the inside out

Cons:

makes teeth sensitive. please use a straw so u dont erode your enamel.

lemon juice is one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. while it is an acid, it alkalizes in the body. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. most sickness is caused by a bodily enviorment that is too acidic. most people eat so much acid forming food, they're body is a breeding ground for disease. y? because the body is spending so much time using its immune system to balance out the acid, that it hasnt much time to try other festering diseases(acne, cancer, the common cold) ask ure doctor what would happen to you if ure blood reached an acidic level of only 6.9(one 10th of a point below neutral). keeping ure body alkaline is amazingly important. lemon juice is the best way to do it. my skin cleared up in 2 days and most of the hyperpigmentation i have from being a picker is significantly gone. at first i was only using lemon juice topically(which also has its pros) but i didnt see such amazing results til i started drinking warm lemon water. USE ORGANIC LEMONS!!!

Pros:

Simple, cheap, tasty, effective

Cons:

Bad for teeth

I've been using lime juice in hot water rather than lemons but I believe it works in the same way. I was drinking this for two weeks for the general health benefits and not for acne but during that time I found my skin was less oily and somehow smoother. I forgot to drink it for a few days and my skin became more oily and puffy and I couldn't work out what it was until I realised the only thing I'd changed was to not drink the lime water. I'm amazed that such a simple thing can make such a difference! It won't solve your acne completely but it'll make your skin healthier making breakouts less likely.

Pros:

Cheap
Easy to use
Delicious
Helps digestion
Cleanses liver/kidney

Cons:

Sensitive teeth

I am in my late 20s and never had acne growing up. About 5 years ago, I started getting really bad acne on one side of my face, gradually spreading to my forehead. I tried so many topical creams, gels - both prescription and over-the-counter. I quit eating meat, drank more water, none of this helped. I finally started drinking one squeezed lemon in warm water every morning before work, so 5 times a week. This has almost completely cleared my acne in just on month. I still get occasional hormonal breakouts, but the lemon water has helped greatly. I also use a cleansing pad every morning and Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer. This, combined with the lemon juice, has done wonders for my skin. The reason I think the lemon juice does so well is that it is cleansing of the liver and kidneys. Cleansing your liver is one of the best things you can do for your skin. If you want to go one giant step further, try Andreas Golitz Amazing Gall Bladder flush. I have yet to try this, but plan to very soon.

Pros:

cheap, easy, tastes good (i love sour stuff) and its better than drinking vinegar!, i guess it helps fight acne

Cons:

bad for teeth, need lots and lots of lemon!

Well, i figured i should give this a shot... I definitely notice a difference. My skin does look better, and my break outs aren't that bad. I'm not completely clear however, but i'm pretty clear... my body acne, which has been impossible to get rid of, has calmed down a little, but its still there. I take close to one big lemon worth of juice a day, maybe a little more here and there... half in the AM, half in the PM... Overall for me, the results are pretty subtle, but I'm going to stick through with it and see if there are more improvements.

Pros:

Clears up acne, great detox for your body, affordable, easy to make.

Cons:

None that I can think of!

This works. I squeeze half a lemon (or sometimes a full lemon) into a cup of hot water. I also add a little honey for some taste. I drink this in the morning right when I wake up. It helps to control my acne and redness. Give it a try! It's easy and affordable!

Pros:

One of the easiest things you can do! We all know it's important to stay hydrated anyways so this isn't a big step to take. I use the bottled juice (2 for $1) and it works well. I have seen a visible improvement over two or three weeks time.

Cons:

Am a little worried about the possible enamel damage I have read about on this site ... must look into it more.

Certainly won't hurt and might help as well! Seems to even out skin tone, and in fact tastes pretty yummy too. Especially seeing that it's summer here it is important to stay hydrated, and the lemon just gives a little kick to my water and makes it very refreshing. (Can also make lemonade, either hot or cold - yum!) My skin had already been improving significantly over the past few months due to the regimen and other things, but adding this recently has kicked it up a notch. Not sure if it is helping with pimples per se, but definitely the overall clarity of my skin is better. I definitely recommend trying this, as the risks and costs involved are so low compared to a lot of other products and treatments you might try. Not a miracle cure, but something healthy (many benefits besides improved skin) that you can add in to your routine very easily every day.

Lemon can help!
After my garlic treatment accident (I burned my skin) when my skin healed I started to apply lemon on my face. I must tell you, that it really helps! Helps a lot! It removes blackheads and helps with pimples too. If you dry out your skin you can use a moisturizer after you put lemon on your face. I also started drinking lemon with water, but sometimes i forget to drink it. I can feel that it is more effective if I drink it often. But lemon deserves 5 stars from my side. of course maybe it is not the best solution for everybody, but I tried out lotsf of creams, I also took pills 5 years ago, but my acne came back when I turned to 27. I decided not to take any pills, just give time and try out a lot's of home remedies. Now on my list ACV and lemon are the first one. You can also use it under your make up, as a tonic.

Pros:

Less facial redness
Breakouts minimized
More energy
Fresh complexion

Cons:

Teeth can become sensitive (better to drink through straw)

This is a great remedy for acne. I tried this one night when I was breaking out pretty badly and then the next day the inflamed bumps went down and my skin was soft and dewy. Of course if you want this to really work you also have to change your diet. Remove sugars and simple carbs like breads and cookies, and eat lots of salads and other yummy veggies (try to cut down on starchy veggies like potatoes). Also stay away from processed foods. Canned food always gets me, the day after I eat anything canned and that has a lot of sodium in it makes my face irritated with more breakouts. It best to stick to all natural foods. And remember drink lots of water and take your vitamins :-)

Concerned and really trying not to be
So this past Sunday I decided to switch up my morning routine and find a better alternative for coffee. I recently was experiencing some constipation and bloating so I wanted a warm drink in the morning that can help sooth my body instead of adding more weight to it. On Monday morning felt great! I had a very healthy breakfast, decided to cut more carbs out of my diet and found that the lemon & water gave me less of an appetite. I liked that because it allowed me time to make better food choices and time to prepare meals of my own. However, on Tuesday, I then noticed something different. After a short nap during the day I woke up to a ton of tiny bumps (some looked like little whiteheads) all over my face!!! I went into panic mode! I take REALLY good care of my skin. I never experienced breakouts, rarely experience pimples and never had acne - so to notice this was quite scary!! I assumed that maybe I had an allergic reaction but I knew that couldn't be the case. I had no makeup on, just my moisturizer that I applied earlier in the morning and never experienced "allergies" so suddenly in my room. Needless to say, after some thought I concluded that maybe my health changes and lemon/water detox had something to do with it but I'd rather be certain. Some blogs say that you shouldn't breakout and some say you might. So before I start making dermatologist appointments, I'd like to get a better understand on if my reaction is common and nothing to be too concerned over.
