Pros:

Your skin is left glowing a little
Soft skin
Redness is reduced
Acne is smaller

Cons:

Itchy when first applied

When I heard about lemon, I thought why not try it? It's cheap. And natural. And I've heard that it works. And it does! Every night I was my face with a gentle cleansing wash( I use Purpose). I then cut off a slice of the lemon and gently rub it on to me face. Some people may experience burning or itchiness but what I do if right after I put it on, I sit in front of a fan and the fan dries it on my face and then it soothes my skin. Then go to bed...wake up...SHAZAM! It helps! My skin feels tighter, softer, and the acne has gotten smaller and less red.

Pros:

works!
smells nice!

Cons:

stings until it dries...

I use lemon juice as a toner after cleansing in the morning and I use diluted AVC at night. It works great. I can feel that it helps to maintain a good pH level and I also feel less breakouts forming... You must be patient though! I have been applying this for 2 months now! Hang in there and don't give up!

Pros:

A natural product
Smells nice
No new acne since I began using it
Inexpensive

Cons:

Didn't 'cure' my rosacea like I had hoped

I wash my face morning and night with a well-known mild liquid cleanser followed by freshly squeezed lemon juice on a cotton ball. I have been using this method for almost 6 months and I have had no new acne. My skin is smoother and more even-toned. It has improved my rosacea redness somewhat, but not cured it. I am a 32 year-old female and I have tried MANY products over the years. This method works best for me. My skin is combination dry/oily. This method may be too harsh if your skin is very dry. TIPS: Add some of the extra lemon juice to a glass of water, or you can store the freshly squeezed lemon juice in a small glass jar. It keeps for a couple of days. I've also heard it helps your skin to drink the lemon juice. I tried this, but found it too bitter-tasting to do long-term.

Pros:

Very inexpensive.

Smells good and leaves my skin feeling very soft.

Cons:

Stings a little bit, but not very much.

Didnt quite have the effect on me that alot of people on here said it had on them. I am also on minocyclin acne pills and an acne gel and I was using the lemon when i washed my face but I didnt see a change.

I tried this for about three weeks and saw no change in my skin so I quit. Although it was a bit softer I didnt feel that it cleared up my acne like I was hoping. Maybe I will try it again in the future for a longer period of time and see if that helps.

Pros:

The smell, actually improves minor scars.

Cons:

Stings, dries your skin completely, gave me a huge breakout.

I used it twice a day for almost a week I think, but then I started to get a huge break out, despite having only had mild acne for several years. I think it may be because I didn't use a moisturiser, and so my skin dried out completely. Either way it was horrible, and I immediately stopped using lemon juice. However, now another week has passed, and my break out is practically gone again (used a lot of moisturiser!) - and my scars (small ones) seem to actually have improved significantly (they're still slightly red though, but it slowly disappears)! So I'm gonna start using it again, albeit a lot less, AND use a moisturiser. Bottom line is it may help you, but you should definitely USE IT WITH CARE.

Pros:

Works better than anything I've ever tried. Screw ProActive!

Cons:

Acid wear on teeth and it will make skin very photosensitive.

Topically Remember to use a fresh lemon everyday, the minerals that make lemons so great are only good a few minutes after you cut the lemon, same with any fruit! When applied topically will sting really bad (so what, well worth it) and kill all bacteria on face, give it about a full week and face will be clear. I use it after shaveing with cuts and stuff, it hurts so bad I have to jump up and down (at this point I don't care about pain, I just want a clear face) Acid Wear The really white spots that start to show up on the bottom portions of your teeth, if you have seen them they are acid wear...always drink it with a straw, then take some water and swish it around after to take extra precaution. Remember to drink all juices with a straw as they are pretty much acids. Photosensitvity: Don't wear in sun, it will double your skin damage! Apply it on face, leave on over night and rinse off in morning. I wear throughout day and just stay out of sun as much as p

Pros:

It cleared up my skin and lighten my dark acne scars i've had for over 14 years. It worked very fast.(african american skin/ honey brown complexion)

Cons:

It stings for a few sec's, and may itch for a sec; but will quickly stop.

I wash my face in the shower in the morning and at night. I then put the lemon juice on my face after my shower , because the steam from the shower opens your pores. It does work, very well. I love it!

I would not recommend this
So after desperately searching for natural products which would take away the dark spots on my face that appear after a pimple goes away I was recommended that I use lemon juice. I have light-ish brown skin (I'm Indian) so I unfortunately get spots after a pimple goes away. I heard that if you have dark skin you should not use lemon juice because it can cause spots to appear on your face but I still applied it on my face and I did not like it. My face was red and stung very badly. I had to stay away from the sunlight because if you go out in the sun with lemon juice it can burn your skin. Don't use this if you have sensitive skin like me. Personally, I just use honey and I think it works a lot better and doesn't hurt.

I'm a light skinned Indian as well, and your description of your skin sounds almost exactly like mine. I had the same problem as you in the beginning, but then I diluted the lemon in juice and kept it on for 10 minutes the first day and then washed it off. I kept on continuing until I would put it on straight from a lemon and leave it on overnight. Then, I would wash it off and put on sunscreen. It worked like a charm! Then my acne came back because I stopped doing that and started eating a ton of junk food. But I'm doing it again and I'm seeing results! I use honey and lemon to exfoliate my skin in the morning and it works pretty well!
