Pros:

natural, non purfume smell, fair priced, reduces post acne scars, doesn't dry skin. works

Cons:

i wish it worked faster

TRY IT!! IT WORKS. I've been washing my face with cetaphil and baking soda for 10 seconds, then i almost fill the cap of the bottle to witch hazel ( with witch hazel) and add 2-3 drops of 100% lavender oil, i use it as a toner, then use a lotion. When i do this twice a day my face doesn't hurt, my acne eases away and my spots get smaller and fade. I have been doing this for 2 weeks now and i HAVE seen inprovements, though it takes time. I hate to drink water, try to drink 1 green tea a day ( no sugar), and i only eat 100% whole wheat bread. i hope that by my wedding ( in 10 months) my skin is clear.

Please avoid
Lavender oil is cytotoxic, capable of killing skin cells, and like most other essential oils, it can cause rashes and photosensitivity even in very small amounts.

This happened to me before. I made my own moisturizer with lavender essential oil not knowing how it would effect my skin and I ended up getting a big rash on my chin and upper lip area next to my nose. Defiantly be cautious when using for the first time and test it out before fully committing to using it all the time.

Pros:

-clears up acne, even the deep painful ones
-makes redness go away
-has really helped my hyperpigmentation clear up
-tightens pores
-makes skin glow
-helps with my blackheads (I had a lot)
-balances out oily skin and makes it feel normal
-helps acne come to a head, then I apply TTO (tea tree oil) and that gets rid of it for good.

Cons:

-can make skin look shiny... blotting papers will cure that.
-can make skin feel tight and a little dry

it has helped my skin so much that I don't care about the cons... there are way more pros.

I have been struggling with acne since I was 11, and I am 17 now. I have tried almost everything in drugstores, and also have been put on some medications. My doctor didn't help much, he just wanted to put me on medications. I started my research on acne, realized I had a whey allergy (which made my skin moderately severe to severe) and I cut that out of my diet. But I still had that stubern moderate acne on my forehead. I stopped using the harsh chemicals on my face, and started using more natural products. I came across lavender oil in my cabinet, and realized when I used to get sunburns, I would put some drops of it in water and spray on my face. It would clear up my acne, and sunburn. I started putting about 20 drops in a 2 ounce bottle, and would spray it on my face while I was watching TV or on the computer. I have been doing this for about 3-4 weeks and have seen a huge improvement in my skin! My skin is about 85%-90% clear, I just get some blackheads and some hormonal acne (around ovulation time and right before my period). I hope now that I can find a cure for my light hormonal acne, then my skin will be 100% clear! =D

Pros:

anti inflammatory
"renaissance" oil
smells great

Cons:

quality oil can be more expensive

I mix jojoba oil with Young Living brand lavender essential oil because they make quality medicinal grade oils. The extra expense is necessary if you want it to help. The good news for lavender is that it's one of those "when in doubt, use lavender" kind of things. That's why I call it a renaissance oil. I use it when I can't fall asleep, if I get a headache, on bug bites, or if I'm just in a bad mood. It's noticeably soothing and it helps with any redness. It's helped with the scarring as well. It works really well with cystic acne. I'll dab it on individual breakouts full strength if they need the extra treatment. Sometimes I'll mix it with rose oil because that is a super oil for the skin, but it's extremely expensive so I don't use it as often. If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin.

Pros:

Helped fade marks

Cons:

Pimples popped up like there was no tomorrow.

I had been doing fantastic with my skin. I had a few whiteheads and leftover scars, but I could deal with that. After reading these reviews, I got really excited and bought some to mix with my extra virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil is amazing, Lavender? Not so much. I'm not going to rip this product cause everyones skin is different and my skin hates just about everything.

Pros:

Calmed inflammation drastically, pimples clear up quickly and it's an excellent toner for the skin. I've always loved the smell of lavender so that's another bonus!

Cons:

None

I use water soluble lavender oil as a 50% blend with water - shake it together and it goes white like a milk bath. Give it a try. It really takes away the inflammation, especially working well on old red spots where pimples used to be. It relaxes the skin, gets rid of redness and dries out white heads. Water soluble lavender oil has alcohol in it so it won't clog your pores unlike mixing it with carrier oils (sweet almond, jojoba) but still leave your skin hydrated. I have dry skin and found that if I use something that dries the acne then I need to put a moisturizer on but then most moisturizers make white heads pop up. This mixture seems to perfectly balance my skin - it's not dry and it's overly hydrating or oily. I use nothing else on my skin now.

Pros:

Shortens breakouts, softens skin, relives redness

Cons:

smell is very strong, stings if too much is applied

I've only used this for 3 days and already every one of my zits are gone. My chin breaks out big time but has completely cleared up. I wash my face in the morning with a natural product, apply the oil all over my face, then cover with moisturizer (helps smell dissapate faster) then at night I apply the oil right before bed. I am amazed! I will continue to use this, maybe only once a day from now on.

Pros:

Lavender oil is bloomin marvelous. I have experienced dramatic results in just two weeks of using it, so I am going to continue. skin texture and tone have improved and current breakout almost diminished.

Cons:

Absolutely none!

I have suffered with hormonal acne since I was 25. I am 41 this year and still suffering breakouts. Over the years I have tried everything form Hormone therapy such as Dianette and antibiotics to all kinds of 'miracle' treatments. I stumbled across the forum on lavender oil on this site quite by accident but am so glad I did, I decided to give it a go as I had nothing to lose. I am absolutely amazed by the dramatic results I have had with lavender oil. Not only has the appearance of my skin, such as texture and tone improved but I am almost blemish free, in just over three weeks! My skin is soft, smooth and supple. I am absolutely amazed at the dramatic effect using lavender essential oil has had and urge anybody to give this a try.

Pros:

Reduces redness and somehow has cleared my face completely

Cons:

A tiny hint of drying, but nowhere as close to those products like BP; use moisturizer.

Works beyond expectations.

Pros:

Smells great, has an amazing antiseptic and moisturizing effect all at once. Helps clear zits and pimples.

Cons:

Is not the heavy duty pimple fighter I was hoping for but IS effective.

I would recommend trying lavender absolutely. I had severe chin acne and it wasn't the be all solution for me to completely eradicate my problem BUT it did make a huge dent in my mild to moderate acne - i did find the cure for my acne however and that is OIL OF OREGANO. I did however add a few drops of lavender to my bottle of foundation so everytime i put makeup on it smells great and is giving me some gentle acne fighting through the day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding lavender oil to you regime.
