Pros:

gets rid of flakiness that almost nothing would
really soft skin
natural product

Cons:

Expensive

I've tried so many different things for my face with no success. Lately I had been trying more natural products and a friend suggested jojoba oil, albeit I was a little skeptical at first, putting oil right on my face. In the end the results speak for themselves I have had no breakouts so far plus it has multiple uses! In the end I think it ended up being a great investment!

Pros:

Controls oil, moisturizes skin beautifully, is a great carrier for essential oils

Cons:

It's not exactly cheap (even though it's still much cheaper than many acne or anti-aging products), and it leaves you oily

I use more of this at a time than the other reviewers seem to. In a bottle of jojoba, I mix in a few drops each of tea tree, lavender and bergamot essential oils and apply the mixture to my face. The combination has what used to be very severe acne under control. I still get pimples, but they're very sporadic and NOTHING like they used to be. And now that I'm getting older, I've probably tried every single anti-aging product on the market. Every time I try a new potion, I end up chucking it and going back to my jojoba...nothing moisturizes as well. I tend to use this product at night -- I use enough to maximize the efficacy of the essential oils, and that makes me look, well, oily. But that's fine; I put it on an hour or two before bed, spend some time massaging it in (which increases bloodflow to the skin, also good for acne), and then blot the remaining oil off before bed so my pillow doesn't get disgusting.

Pros:

Relatively inexpensive. Easy to find.

Cons:

Oily, takes awhile to soak into skin, can be greasy if you use too much

I have oily, very acne-prone skin. I've only found one moisturizer than wasn't greasy and didn't cause massive breakouts and that was aveeno calming night cream. but lately i've wanted to go all natural and use less chemicals on my face, and the aveeno wasn't helping the cold-weather flaky skin around my nose. I've been using honey to wash my face with excellent results and since i've been using the jojoba oil the flakiness is virtually gone and my old blemishes are healing very quickly. i have spent a small fortune over the years on products that couldn't do what these products have been doing to my complexion. if this oil doesn't cause breakouts, i'll only use this to moisturize. it's weird putting oil on my face, and it does feel greasy until it soaks in, but the results have been impressive. i may use this only at night if my makeup can't stay on... so i'd love to find a nice non-oily alternative for daytime to wear under makeup.

Pros:

I have No Reason To Lie To You. Jojoba is a great moisturizer. It keeps skin moist, fades red marks, is super gently, but BEST OF ALL IT WILL HELP YOUR ACNE GO AWAY. Its really all you need as far as moisturizer. Maybe some sunscreen.

Cons:

A little bit of shine after you put it on.

Like I Said, I Have NO REASON to lie or even post this message for that fact. I have Sensitive skin that is both dry and oily. I have Blemishes and Moderate/Medium amount of Acne. I started using Jojoba and my skin never looked better. I used to think I was ACNE PRONE, but Really I just have sensitve skin and the PRODUCTS I USED only irritated and clog my pores. So I Start using Cetaphil Cleanser and Jojoba, and BOOM! MY SKIN IS BETTER THAN Ever. And very few blemishes. This is the truth, You Can Believe it or Not.... So if you have Sensitive Blemish Prone Skin, Maybe you can try Jojoba and maybe it will work, maybe It Wont... How to Use: Morning & Night: Wash Face Gently with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, While Face is Still Wet Rub a Couple Drops of Jojoba around gently and then Rinse. Pat Dry.. wait a couple minutes, apply a couple more drops of Jojoba to dry skin. You're ready to go. I use Sunscreen during day. I Like Neutrogena Dry Sheer Sunscreen 30SPF (its great)

Pros:

Small 4oz container lasts forever! Completetly gets rid of flakes! No greasy face, even at the end of a long day! Actually made my skin healthier.

Cons:

Due to it's runnier-than-lotion consistensy it's a bit more difficult to spread evenly, but after a few days of practice it's no problem.

I've tried Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture (didn't help with flakes)and Lac-Hydrin 5 (too harsh, turned skin red) and mixing a bit of Jojoba Oil with each but still either had flakes, redness, or a heavy, greasy feeling on my face. One day I was looking for Complex 15 locally but couldn't find it. I knew I had to do something because the redness and flakes had to stop. I decided until I ordered Complex 15 online and received it I'd try Jojoba Oil by itself. I was a little concerned about it being pure oil and putting it on my face, which was already getting too oily by the end of the day, but holy cow... ...incredible. I now use this solely (no moisturizer) about 10 minutes after applying BP, twice a day, morning and night. Only 2-3 drops covers the lower half of my face (my problem area). After a full day of work when I get home my face isn't heavy, greasy, and/or red; it looks and feels normal! My skin is visibly getting softer and smoother with each passing day.

Oil Cleanse
I recently switched to the oil cleansing method using only jojoba oil and I will never wash my face any other way! There is no need to moisturize after I wash anymore, and my face is less oily throughout the day. This is truly the best thing I have ever stumbled upon.

Do you just use jojoba like any other face cleanser?

nice
I use it as a body oil, putting a little on after my shower, while my skin is still wet. It soaks in amazingly well and I am left with super soft and moisturized skin. I also add a few drops of different essential oils as well, so it smells lovely.

LESS IS MORE
i have oily skin, 2-3 weekly pustules and rarely cysts.. I manage my acne with BP and AHA 8% and I find jojoba oil to be a good moisturizer for my irritated skin, and a good carrier for the treatment products.. I think the key is to use only 3-4 drops for the entire face, when your skin is dry and flaky because of bp, aha and retinoid.. If your face isn't dry, mix it with 2-3 drops of water first. I use it for 2 months now and it hasn't broke me out

Great for combination skin

Pros:

Doesn't clog pores
Good for flaky skin
All natural

Cons:

Can be an oily look if you use too much product

I've been blessed with acne and a greasy skin as well as dry patches and flakes. So it's really hard to find a product that addresses both problems. I really like jojoba oil because it doesn't clog my pores, doesn't break me out and it works well for the flaky areas. I really like the fact that it's an all natural product as well, no chemical ingrediënts but full of antioxidants. I use Retin-a a lot and jojoba oil is the one thing that helped me get elastic and glowy skin in stead of flaky and wrinkly skin from Retin-a. I use the jojoba oil from Now Foods and buy it on iHerb, best quality and price I could find. If you use the discount code UPU014 at the check out you even get a 10$ of your first purchase, so it's practically free the first time. Try it.

Pros:

- Properly moisturises skin, doesn't just sit on top and clog my pores like every single moisturiser I've ever used in the past.

- Use it to take my make up off and moisturise.

- Lasts for ages, a 100ml bottle by Fushi Wellbeing costs me £7.95 and lasts for 4 months using it twice daily.

- Helped heal my skin after a horrific experience with Duac.

Cons:

- No major ones for me personally. I think the quality makes a huge difference so get the best you can find.

- It's not the best under oil free foundation, I have to do a lot of blotting with tissue and make sure I apply it at least 10 mins before make up!

Have had acne on and off for 3 years since coming off the BCP. Was using Duac as a topical until I had a massive reaction to it this past winter and ended up with a destroyed acid mantle which became infected (4 kinds of antibiotics, be careful with BP) and then resulted in a severe breakout which lasted until I healed my skin with jojoba and very weak ACV compresses. Because my skin was so destroyed I can't say if I got an initial breakout or not but I could see a change in the unaffected areas of my face after about 3 weeks. My tips are... * Buy a good quality, organic, cold pressed brand, a little goes a long way so it's a very cheap option. * I never used more than the bare minimum it takes to cover my skin, pat it in and always tissue off the residue. * I use it to take off my make up, removed with a very hot cloth. I use a couple of drops mixed with tea tree on the areas where I get worst breakouts. * My skin is acne prone but mostly dry so I can't say how it would work with someone who has very oily skin. It does genuinely regulate the oil production across my oiler areas though.
