Pros:

Super cheap, works fast, reduces redness, dries up acne. lightens scars, and also lightens the dark hair that grows out of my moles, and between my eyebrows.

Cons:

Dries skin out, so use a moisturizer afterward (let dry first, about 5 minutes). Also, it lightens the areas where applied (mostly noticeable on the body, rather than face); however, on the skin it is temporary...probably just bacteria fizzing away.

Amazing. I have severe acne, which can become cystic and horrible. I've tried everything: oxy, strydex, noxema, salicylic acid washes, neutragena, st. ives scrub, mud masks, clay masks, fruit masks, mychelle, avalon organics, witch hazel, vitamin E, alcohol, tetracycline, proactive, and then finally Acutane. Acutane was the only thing that ever cleared up my acne and gave me beautiful skin; but 3 years later, my acne is back! And now I don't have health insurance, plus would be scared to go back on Acutane (highly toxic levels of vitamin A, requiring monthly blood work, destroys your liver, shortens your life span...though it does work, so was worth it for my happiness). Anyway, hydrogen peroxide ALSO works! I wish I would've known this 12 years ago. I use it for brushing my teeth, but I never thought of using it on my face. I recently spontaneously decided to try it, and it worked! I've been researching it ever since, and it seems to be a miracle for acne sufferers.

Dries out pimples great!
Im 15 w/ mild acne. Dries out white heads nicely. Ive been struggling for a while w/ acne and this has been succeeding at keeping my face clear for almost a month now. I wash with baby wash (lol) and then after my face dries, I just apply a thin layer with a cotton swab over my problem area on my forehead, around my nose, and temples. I dont add any moisturizer over any parts that ive put HP on unless it starts cracking, peeling, etc.

Pros:

-works quickly
-i have very oily skin, and this helps rid of the excess oils
-unlike many others, i did not experience any burning
-CHEAP! :)

Cons:

-can probably dry out skin if overused
-(not truly a con, but more of a tip) since everyone's skin is different, others may not see results as quickly
-if you apply a lot, it can have an odor, but it goes away

After reading previous reviews, I decided to give hydrogen peroxide a try as an overnight remedy. It worked wonderfully. I have had severe acne since the age of 9. I will be turning 19 next month. Now, although my acne is not as severe as it has been in the past, it is still a very bothersome issue. I break out the most on my cheeks, and will have a few bumps on my chin. With a q-tip, I applied the peroxide on the pimples I had on my cheeks and chin. The next day, the smaller pimples were completely gone, and the larger ones had reduced tremendously in size. I also paired this with a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream made by Oxy Clean Clinical, so I believe that helped in quickening the process. As a moisturizer, I use a 0.5% salicylic acid cream made by Clean & Clear. NOTE: I have very oily skin, so I have found that products that tend to dry other people's skin out do not dry mine out, but helps control the oil. If you have sensitive skin, I would not suggest pairing hydrogen peroxide with benzoyl peroxide because it can over dry. But, if you do try this, do it moderately so that you know whether or not your skin will react negatively. Good luck to all :)

Pros:

2 day removal of active acne on first use. Thereafter active spots treated were gone overnight. Lightened old acne scars and improved the general appearance of my skin, making it 'glowy'.

Cons:

Hydrogen peroxide is very bad for skin in the long term. I'm training to be a Dr, so I know!
Even now, active acne may be gone but spots take a long time to heal and I'm pretty sure the 'glowy-ness' is the skin's response to damage.

For years I refused to use this because it essentially oxidizes and kills skin cells as well as bacteria, with some potential for mutagenic DNA damage, too. But at 26, I'm sick of having constant acne, blackheads and new scars. I started with 2x daily applications of 6% hydrogen peroxide, all over my face with a cotton ball, once in the morning and once at night. I followed with light Eucerin lotion for the face 2x a day and 10% benzol peroxide at night only. I used to exfoliate every other day but this new treatment seems to have thinned my skin to the point I only need exfoliation 1x a week, if that! Now that I've (hopefully!) got my acne under control, I'm going to try spot treating only as needed with a Q-tip dipped in hydrogen peroxide. Note that a bottle of hydrogen peroxide opened every day will turn to water pretty fast. I intend to replace mine every month. At ~$1 a pop this is the cheapest acne treatment I've ever tried!

Pros:

It really works for acne
It's easy to apply
Doesn't dry skin
No smell
Not irritant
Very cheap

Cons:

can discolor hair/eyelashes

I was suffering with bad acne for over 2 years.I would have 12 active acne on my face at times.I started using hydrogen peroxide 3 month ago and it has made a drastic change on my face.My skin looks normal now .I still maybe 1/2 small acne sometimes around that time of the month BUT it's nowhere near before.I pour some on disposable round cotton pads and put it on my chin/cheeks twice a day.I have not had to put ANY moisturizer on my face for the whole 3 month AND i have DRY skin!! used to put cetaphil / cerave twice before. The only thing I don't like about this miracle liquid is that it can discolor eyelashes/eyebrows and sting eyes .so I put it on and lie down for 3 mins for it to dry.Although I 'd take discolored hair over acne ANYTIME.I can fix that easily. It's the miracle for me.At least try it.

Pros:

Cannot believe the results, I've had acne for a year, it took me only a few days to see results with HP while it took me countless months with facial washes & exfoliating that pretty much have done nothing. I've had HP in my bathroom for the longest time and never thought once to use it. I would recommend HP wholeheartedly! already seen results on the 2nd day + my acne is nearly gone! Just be careful around your hairline and eyebrows, it WILL BLEACH. :)

Cons:

It can bleach hair.

Stings just a tad bit, but goes away after a minute or two.

It can also dry skin, so apply a moisturizer afterward.

I would recommend this product.. it may seem a bit sketchy at first since most people would not expect HP as a resort to acne, but it worked for me. I'm not saying this will work for everyone, since every person has different skin sensitivity. I'd advise you to apply a small amount on your face and see how it reacts to the product.

Pros:

Clears and prevents acne. Doesn't burn like Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Cheap. Disinfects without being too rough.

Cons:

Not a complete cure, but still highly helpful. Using it straight can dry or burn.

I have used biiiiiilliions of products with various different things in them. benzoyl, salisylic, organic, home cures (lemon, tea etc). I swear to God nothing has worked better so far than hydrogen peroxide. HOWEVER just STRAIGHT Hydrogen peroxide CAN dry or burn. I have insanely sensitive skin, I'm fairly certain a strong wind could make me break out. So I DO NOT use hydrogen peroxide undiluted. What I do is (this is in addition to my own favorite organic soap), I use it as a toner. I fill a 99cent Spice jar 3/4's with water and then the remaining fourth with hydrogen peroxide. I also for the smell and since it's supposed to be helpful for skin, is add a tiny splash of Rose water. (again, 3/4 water, 1/4th hydrogenperoxide, optional a splash of Rose Water in a spice jar.) This way it DOES NOT dry my skin out or turn it red or burn or whatever All in all, if you have something that works thats good. If nothing is working well for you, I'd suggest trying D

It has it's uses...
If you have already popped a pimple, this will likely cause it to scab and scar. I use it to bleach my dark spots on days when I will be home all day, because it does leave my face a little blotchy for a few hours after I use it. Nonetheless, it kills bacteria, lightens and bleaches, and will dry up your acne. I just think there are better products to use. NOTE: This stuff can be strong. Diluting it is a good idea if you're putting it all over your face.
