Pros:

works?

Cons:

doesn't work as well as i'd hoped

I used regular organic grocery store honey once or twice a day for about a week. In that time, it managed to clear up some stubborn under the skin bumps on my cheek and made my skin glow. then I switched to manuka honey which is about three times as expensive and honestly did not do as much as the grocery store honey did. Also, I left it on overnight once and it seemed to clog my pores and erase the good that the regular honey did...so i'm starting today with the regular honey and will give an update in a week. overall, if nothing else it is a very good hydrating mask for sensitive dry skin.

Pros:

Soft/Glowing Skin
Helps with scarring/blemishes
Helps prevent future breakouts

Cons:

Sticky/Messy!!

All I can say is... WOW!! Honey has truly been a blessing for me! I am 24 years old and have suffered from acne since I was about 15 years old. I can't remember the last time that I have every left my house without makeup! I started taking minocycline (the first antibiotic prescribed to me for acne) but stopped taking it due to the side effects. Instead, I started using a honey mask (honey & lemon juice). I use it before I go to bed about 3-4 times a week. I leave it on for about an hour, and as soon as I wash it off my skin instantly feels so much smoother! I have noticed that my old scars have faded significantly and my skin is just overall more evened out. I also have noticed that my breakouts are not nearly as bad as they used to be... I still get them, but they are definitely much more tolerable. I am very happy wtih the improvements I have seen just from using HONEY.... just thought I'd share my results! :)

Pros:

Reduced redness
Tightened pores
Removed excess oil
Removed some acne and plugs after one application
Left skin feeling very soft
Delicious :p

Cons:

Messy/sticky/drippy but no big deal
Left some areas slightly more red (probably due to sensitive skin)
Redness of scarring did return within 10 or so minutes, however this was one application

My skin: I have had mild to moderately severe acne since I was around 13. I'm currently 24. At the moment my main problem is scarring, with a rash-like redness across my cheeks from nose to ear and some red single spotty scars towards my jawline. I currently also have a couple of what I call 'active spots'- raised but not popped or healed at all. Application: I applied a generous layer of honey onto my face using 2 disposable cotton pads. I left it on for an hour. During this time certain small areas became a little itchy (so something was working!), which I remedied by gently massaging the area and moving the honey around. There were some drips (which I know to look out for next time). But overall the waiting time was pleasant (and delicious). To remove: I took a face washcloth and heated with warm water, placing it over my entire face and let the honey warm for a few seconds (because the honey dries a little after being on your skin). The warmth at this point feels amazing by the way. I then gently wiped off the honey with the cloth, and rinsed my face thoroughly with running warm water. The result: Immediately after towel-drying I noticed large areas of redness were removed almost entirely. My larger more prominent acne scars were still very noticeable, but possibly not as 'angry-looking'. I feel these may improve with daily applications of the honey mask. The overall texture of my skin was improved. After ten minutes: I noticed most of the redness returned, however my skin was incredibly soft, it felt very clean and my pores were tightened. After a couple of hours: The redness had settled again, with large portions of my face noticeably less red than before application. Only very mild redness remained, however my larger scars still remained red, but again, less angry and they seemed very clean. I will continue this process as I do believe it will help in time. I gained better results than any store bought product.

Pros:

Reduces pimples
Reduces redness
Cheap, using household items
Leaves skin soft
Comes off skin very easily
Completely natural
(You can eat it if you desire) :D

Cons:

EXTREMELY messy
Itches
Leaves skin a tad irritable and red for close to a half hour (I would recommend doing a facial at night)

I have been getting really into facials and household remedies that will keep my skin soft and most importantly help with my light acne. I have given myself a lot of oatmeal facials, but they tend to be thick and messy, and I have a hard time getting them off. (They can help skin tremendously, though.) I have heard honey is great for clearing skin, so I decided to give that a try. I melted honey and added a teaspoon of cinnamon and a few drops of lemon juice. The problem with the cinnamon is that it makes quite a huge mess and turns the mask an ugly color that might stain if it gets onto a material. Melting the honey makes it drip and made quite a mess for me. BOTTOM LINE: I would NOT melt the honey and would add some lemon juice to get a thinner consistency to help make applying or removing the mask easier. Tie your hair back and wear a ratty shirt either way (in case of accidental dripping). Leave the facial on for fifteen minutes and then scrub clean with a damp washcloth. Rinse simply with cold water to cleanse. You will not regret using this facial mask because it softens skin, reduces redness, and really decreases the amount of pimples you have OVERNIGHT. The ingredients are very simple, and even if all you have is honey, it works wonders by itself.

Pros:

Leaves skin soft, smoother texture.. takes away irritation

Cons:

A bit sticky and messy, but that's all right

My skin has gotten a little red and raw due to Retin-A cream use.. as expected from the treatment.. so I thought I'll take a break from it to try to reduce the irritation. I read great reviews about the honey mask so I decided to try it. Mixed pure honey with cinnamon and left it on my face for an hour... when I wash it off, the irritation and redness that was caused by the Retin-A was gone.. and my skin feels smooth. All the peeled off skin were washed off.. and my skin's complexion looks better :) I'm going to take a break from Retin-A for 3-4 days before starting it again.. In the mean time, it's the honey mask for me :)

Pros:

Skin is softer
redness goes down
reduces marks
helps complexion
natural glow
even moisture
tasty

Cons:

Sticky
Acne continued after not using for a week or so. probably not the honeys fault though.

I've only used this three times, and i use any honey lying around my house. I have to say, it works better than anything else. i'm probably going to start using it every other night, because every time i have used it it has helped immediately. It doesn't make my face too dry, nor too greasy. I don't know how acne medication cannot have honey in it, because it's the only one ingredient thing i have ever used for an acne treatment, and works better than everything else that contains endless different ingredients. I usually leave it on for 15 mins and wash it off really well with warm water.

Pros:

Tastes delicious if you accidentally get some in your mouth :)
Can be mixed with other things for more good effects (like sugar)
Makes complexion brilliant
Easy to obtain

Cons:

Can get sticky
Is messy if you are not careful

For much of my life I have applied a mask comprised of honey mixed with sugar (for exfoliating effects) and it leaves my complexion very pretty and glowing. I like that it doesn't matter if you get it in your mouth, because it's natural and won't damage you. I like that it's easily obtainable. I like that it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin. The only thing that can be a bother is that it drips if you put too much on, thus it can be very messy, but if you just put on an old t-shirt and wash it afterwards you're good to go. It may or may not help with scars, I've had good experience but I can't say for certain it was the mask.

Pros:

- Face feel amazing after this
- Clears acne
- Controls access oils
- Smells great

Cons:

- Very messy
- A pain to rinse off

I love the honey mask, although I do it differently I mix pure honey with some grated apple and mix it together and apply it. Its amazing for acne and oily skin like mine. Before a big event or night out I do this mask. Apply this before your shower and also if you wear makeup your makeup will go on great after this facial! Even just honey itself makes a differences, but if you want to add more vitamins and moisture in your skin add some grated apple to this mask!!!

Pros:

Non-irritating.
Smells/tastes good (if it drips in your mouth!)
Brightens skin tone.
Clears face.

Cons:

Messy.

Mix about two spoonfuls of honey with one spoonful of lemon juice. Apply to face. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Makes face feel really soft and brightens your complexion. Haven't really seen too much of a headway with acne. Still great!

I mixed CINNAMON powder with HONEY and used it as a spot treatment overnight. My Results: I was very pleased by the results from the honey and cinnamon treatment last night. I applied it on a couple of pimples I could see coming as well as a few old pimples that had just left some marks that were still healing. In the morning, on the new pimples, the honey was completely absorbed and the pus/etc had been brought completely to the surface. It had basically been cleaned right out. There was no progress on the old pimple marks. However, this evening (about 24 hours after original application) I noticed one of the marks on my forehead had almost completely disappeared. I've heard it takes a bit of time for the honey (and cinnamon) to do its magic, but I'm already seeing a few instant results! I'm excited to continue my spot treatment. What I Used: The honey that I used was what I had on hand, which was natural honey from Austria. However, I went out and bought 100% natural and organic Canadian Honey today for $6, mixed that with cinnamon tonight, and am trying it again as a spot treatment. I have heard of Manuka honey but I am not willing to spend the large amount of money right away. The Canadian honey is still 100% honey and 100% organic, with no chemicals or additives. The Canadian honey is not runny, but thick, and requires a bit of effort to scoop out of the jar. Then, to mix it with the cinnamon, it must be kneaded with a knife or stirring stick so it can reach a more gooey consistency. This is the only real challenge. It can then be safely stored in a glass jar and, like regular honey, does not need to be refrigerated or thrown away. Save some on the side too for a snack or on your toast, is tastes great, and has many other health benefits!
