Pros:

Cheap, gentle source of caffeine, works like foundation for olive skin, tastes good, gives time to relax, smells good, works well, skin feels smooth!

Cons:

face feels a little tight afterwards, but a little moisturizer immediately fixes that.

After brewing a cup of green tea, use the teabag like an astringent. Wash your face (30 seconds non-stop), pat dry, teabag your face, let it air dry (so your skin soaks it up) while sipping a hot cup of tea. Works almost as well as Sisley brand lotion. It's 100% natural and full of antioxidants that should kill the bacteria. I have greenish-yellow skin with a few pale splotches(from psoriasis) so the green tea evens out my skin tone. When I stopped drinking tea b/c of GERD my acne went nuts. This could have been from lack of antioxidants, stress, or my body being angry at me. By the next day the pimple should have a nice white tip, ready to pop itself or be popped.

Pros:

Inexpensive. Good for your health.

Cons:

The caffeine may not agree with everyone. Not convinced that it will clear acne.

I'm not sure what to make of the many glowing reviews. I'm 25 and have mild but stubbern acne and have been drinking green tea everyday for at least 4 years. I actually drink both green tea and white tea (about 4 cups a day) which is supposed to have higher antioxident levels then green tea. I also brew the tea (organic) using the dry tea leaves not tea bags to maximise the antioxident levels i'm getting, however i have not found that it makes any diference to my acne or skin. Recently i gave up drinking it for a good 6 weeks and my acne is actually better, though it's probrably just a coincidence, acne has a mind of it's own, to be honest i've no idea what to think anymore...maybe i should try the tea bags on the face thing.

Pros:

Putting it on my skin has helped where nothing else has. It is inexpensive compared to pricey department store products and prescriptions.

Cons:

NONE!

I am a 30 year old female, and I have been suffering from acne for a long time, since I was 24 or so. Recently got on Yaz BC and it seemed worse, though really it has been bad for long before that. One day I ran out of my expensive Clinique acne cleanser and picked up something I thought was similar at the drugstore. It was Neutragena Stress Relief Foam, and when I washed my face with it, I noticed immediately it was less red and much more smooth. I read the ingredients and realized it is the green tea in the cleanser. Since then I have gone out and bought tea bags and steep them and apply to my face. It really helps; I feel like I have hope now after nothing working for so long and feeling so so sad and worried about my face!! And something so simple too! Wow.

Pros:

Actually works and is saving me a fortune!!

Cons:

None I can think of.

I have been drinking Green Tea for the last two weeks after I read on the net it was a Herbal remedy worth trying. Having read about these home made/herbal/natural remedies a million times before without success I was slightly pessimistic as you can imagine. I was desperate to try anything because no other remedy has worked before including the dreaded Accutane I thought I would give it a try. Am SO HAPPY that I did because my face is completely clearing up and my blemishes are most defiantly going down. If I do get a pimple now it quickly goes without leaving any marks. I drink around 5 glasses a day and add some Green Tea extract to one cup once a day. After I have used the green tea I take the used bags and rub them gently all over my face letting my skin absorb the tea. This has resulted in my skin clearing up and giving it a healthy glow. It is cheap and very effective and does not irritate your skin and it is ALOT better than the previous thousand Acne products I've used before!!

Pros:

Refreshing, whether applied to the skin or as a beverage.

Cons:

Frequent urination if consumed too often (typical of any caffeinated drink, however. If you replace a soda or coffee habit with a green tea one you probably wouldn't mind)

I only recently heard of the benefits for the complexion after being a long time tea-lover. I typically drink a lot of green tea during the day, between a half and a full gallon, and save the bags, keeping them moist and in the fridge. Shortly before bed, I take the bags and use them as if they were astringent pads, giving a concentrated amount of tea on my face. The results, for me, are hard to specify, due to the fact that I am currently using a Duac antibiotic gel and Retin-A Micro to control breakouts, but what I can say is that after applying the green tea to my face, my naturally oily skin becomes quite smooth and dry, without becoming too dry. This result is quite appealing, and regardless of whether it quells breakouts, I would highly recommend using it in this manner simply as a means to reduce the perils of an oily complexion, which I used to battle by using astringent several times a day, which can be quite brutal on the skin (drying out and sensitivity).

Pros:

This absolutely works!!! It helps your skin become smoother and even glow. Gets rid of unwanted pimples as well. It also aids in weight loss when you drink it because it is a diuretic.

Cons:

Drinking more than one cup of tea per day is dangerous. My mother is a nurse who has treated patients with kidney and liver problems because of too much tea consumption. Also, because it is a diuretic, it causes you to urinate A LOT! Be prepared.

Everything in moderation is a true saying with a true meaning. Green tea is proven to treat acne when applied to your face, as well as aid in weight loss when you drink it, but don't go overboard if you want good health.

Pros:

Inexpensive, multiple health benefits, appears to make skin slightly less oily

Cons:

None

Use green tea in combination with other methods. If your acne is severe/moderate, do low-dose accutane (no more than 20mg a day) and combine it with green tea. If mild, then do retin-a with green tea. I am surprised green tea works, but it really does. If it's not working, drink more (e.g., 6-10 cups a day). It does in fact have strong anti-inflammatory effects.

Pros:

Helps reduce the redness of the pimples and relaxes the skin ALOT! Of course, there are natural anti-oxidants in it.

Cons:

Uh... You tend to use the bathroom alot when, especially when you start drinking it religiously - thats about it.. And the taste is kinda odd for most people, but you do get use to it.

For people with Light to Moderate acne, I suggest you take about 1-2 cups of hot or cold green tea (not the grocery store kind too much sugar. Warm up some water with green tea in it and then chill it with ice in a glass). For Severe acne, I suggest taking 3-4 cups of Green tea, also hot or chilled. For me in a time interval of 2 hours of drinking green tea, the redness in my face began to automatically go down and my face wasn't as puffy. I have SEVERE acne for a little asian girl... Pizza Face, is my nickname - But when I used Green tea the swelling and pain of my inflamed pimples went down dramatically. I highly recommend if your face is inflamed with acne to cool it with ice and the right amount of green tea. It worked wonders for me - and I only tried 3 cups today and in 2 hours - BANG - the swelling is reduced. I'll continue to use this product along with other medications - Its worth it! GREEN TEA - the wonder drink!
